Enemy Camp
The second (and final) wave of reinforcements arrive. They look.. a bit worried about what happened here, but the survivors lie and pass it off as an enemy distraction. Not all of them believe it, but choose to for the sake of avoiding the extremely angry Incarnate. This does mean they don't get started until dawn, though.
And now, the conclusion..
The Battle Of The Glacier
(Phase 0 - Dawn)
The mages (including Xiaomei) cast their spells and enhance the fog into a subtle miasma, anchoring it.
[Enemies nearing the path to the cave will take a -20 penalty to Perception and -12 to all combat checks. Enemy magic users must roll a 1d100, and under 9, attack an ally.]
[-7 MP for all Mages]
The enemy doesn't show up yet. You leave the body of your host, as you return to your oversight.
You spot a worry: the enemy didn't. That's going to be a problem, sending them to fight a incarnate with full divine power.

[The Incarnate reduces the damage by 105 to 958, dropping it to -208 HP. Death score is (102 CHA+40 VIT+60 Divine Aura)=-202 HP. The Incarnte is dead]
The enemy approaches, forming into prearranged lines.
In front are the Commoners, who are now very aware they're cannon fodder, followed by the Incarnate, then the Magi, with the weaker members closer to the edge. The Healers stand behind them, then the Archers.
They stare at the snowman with a sign saying "welcome " for a second, then the mages prepare to attack the barricade (and a few the massed people behind the second barricade.)
[Ally Prepared Action: Unleash Hell]
They didn't realize all of them are well within the range of the stealthed archers, and the magi. After a series of covert hand signals, it was decided to focus on the Magi, especially the Black Magi, and the Archers. The magi nodded, agreeing to overcharge their first attack.
(1d100+2 vs 1d100+51 Spot the Archers? 25 vs 99; Major Failure - Flat footed (*1.5 damage))
A hail of arrows that exploded into magical fire, with lightning bolts, ice spheres, the earth exploding in a mass of tackles, and in one case, a brilliant bolt of lightning from the heavens. And then..
[Fireball, epicenter: Healers]
[10d8 to everyone in Healers and Magi => 10d8 + 15 => 53]
[Fireball, epicenter: Archers]
[6d8 to everyone in Archers => 6d8 + 15 => 36]
A pair of fireballs come from the Fennebeast standing behind Xiaomei, as she adds her contribution before retreating to guard the Portal.
The initial fury stuns the army, who is shaken at seeing the healers and mages gutted, with just one healer left, and only 3 mages. The commoners roar, and charge the barricade with swords and blows.
The Incarnate snarls, and her sword glows with a fell violet light before she sends a slow rippling wave of dark violet-black light in the direction of the archers, the fog exploding around her and dispersing much more rapidly. The magi look like they're about to fireball the refugees when,
[Penalties last for only one more attack]
The archers and magi spot their (very likely) death coming, and unleash another wave, at everything, but focused very much on the Incarnate. If they can kill her, the wave should fade out.
The second wave of fire, reduced, but still quite dangerous washes over the army. The healers are the first to fall over dead, followed by the mages, which as they die, their spell streaks out to attack the refugees and the barricade. The Knights step forward, shields glowing, and take the hit. They get bolted backwards, severely injured, but the fireballs only impact them.
The wave, about to hit (and you know kill all of them) the archers, but you can choose to take that space out of time.
(Used 50, auto-success)
The wave impacts the ridges and hidden spaces of the archers, and violently explodes them, but thankfully you had displaced them. It'll be for naught if the Incarnate wins, but you saved 47 people with that one action.
[Kerian Pantheon more likely to work with you in future turns]
This caused a lot of worry, but with everyone desperate, the Incarnate turned towards the barricades, and with a wave, did the same movement again. The outermost barricade and traps explode, killing the commoners straight out. The archers start aiming at the Knights, seeking an opportunity to keep them pinned down. The others seem too gripped by fear to attack.
The Incarnate continues inexorably to the melee range. Xiaomei attempts to strike them two more times with Divine Judgement while the others seem to lose their ability to act in such an aura after seeing such overwhelming power.
Xiaomei's strikes ring true, and it's clear the Incarnate expects them to be severely reduced, and is horrified when they don't reduce at all. Xiaomei looks at herself in surprise, not having expected it either. Her strikes seemed to swell in power, as if the heavens were answering her courage with their fury.
Xiaomei's strikes striking home also rose up the hearts of those watching. If a young girl who was barely old enough to consider becoming an adventurer could do this, what right did they have to do any less?
[Morale Restored; Everyone gaining +5 to a total bonus of +20 to-hit/damage]
The Monk attacks next, as the fighters tried to javelin strike the archers and incarnate before they could turn their fire to the refugees.
The archers fall to the javelins, leaving the Incarnate alone, who self healed all the damage with a burst of dark magic, their armor repairing (all HP restored, Armor effectiveness now -35 per attack, +25 Dodge)
The Incarnate spots a refugee about to raise a bow, and with a snarl, jumps forward to strike in a sudden blur, only for Xiaomei in the last moment to take the blow for the refugee. The observers are shocked when she is sliced in two before bursting into golden light.
Xiaomei opens her eyes in a void. Yet, somehow, it was comforting. She could feel the powers of Heaven so strongly.. but also the warmth of a spring day after the cold night.
"You feel it, don't you?" A voice echoes. "You experienced the horrors of nuclear annihilation, but you know that death is also the removal of the old and corrupt. The space to make for something new and what is needed now."
The voice chuckles as a kimono formed around Xiaomei as Xiaomei felt herself becoming more - an older, more mature kitsune, her hair a dark purple with stars in it, her body forming up.
"Go forth, my daughter. You, who chose to act. Who chose to step forward, despite their fear. You, who protected knowing it'd mean your death. Despite their weariness. Be who you are, and kill this god who dares stand up against Me, My Sister, and yourself. You are a Daughter of Endings, the fire that brings hope."
[Xiaomei loses the title "Weary Fox", title "Daughter of Endings" is replaced by "Daughter of Endings [Tier 2]", race changes to Kitsune (Three-Tailed), gain Kitsune Tail Powers (First Tail, Second Tail, Third Tail.). HP/MP/Qi refill to full and update to new totals. Gain "Heaven-Silk Kimono (Artifact)"]
"But please.. don't do this again until you can protect yourself. You won't always be able to make it to me for me to return you..." The voice fades out as Xiaomei returns to the world.
The Incarnate grins triumphantly before staring as a somehow older Xiaomei returns as a kitsune wrapped in an beautiful kimono. Xiaomei's aura flares, a rainbow of color as she ignites her light-katana. The others stare at her in awe.
[Progress towards two quests: +1 Moment of Transcending Yourself]
[Meditant gains enough experience to level up to Meditant 3, which gained the additional change of +VIT to Armor when wearing only clothing or clothing artifacts] (Sheet now tracks progress)
[Under the moonlight, everything becomes enlightenment. Gain access to the following Martial Art Trees: The Flashing Sands, the Hot Winds; The Techniques of a Hero of the Past; The Unforgiving Light of the Cold Moon; Jigen Haō-ryū]
"Leave now, or be no more." Xiaomei could feel her memories of a martial art returning, and she began to over-channel into her katana.
"Who's going to stop me? You? A kitsune with no power?" The Incarnate laughed mockingly.
"Yes. Me. A Kitsune who needs no passionate words." Xiaomei returns, then seems to blur as she suddendly steps forward.
[Xiaomei spends 100 Qi on "Activating the Internal Energy", "True Strike" Lv. 1; Channels 35 Qi into her blade; spend 90 MP on Divine Judgement Lv. 2 and channels it into her blade (using her two-tail power), 60 MP to force-create an effect that will strike also at the god in the incarnate.
She banks a expansion of Internal Energy for later.
Spent: 155 Qi, 150 MP, 20 HP.]
[Counts as 6 uses of Divine Judgement]
"[The Fire That Brings the Night Wind]" She calls, her blade exploding in glowing power.
- [x] (40 RP): Spend this now to set up a wave of reinforcements during combat.
[The reinforcements + the naga, kitsune, and Xiaomei's mother return]
Xiaomei's aunt and mother stare blankly at Xiaomei as the aura intensifies. The Magi are faster, and shield spells begin to ripple across the defenders and refugees, who are already moving away from the fight.
Xiaomei's face goes a bit pale as the katana glows even fiercer, before she brings it in a flaming swing, the sky overhead turning night for a moment.
The Incarnate [screams] as she dies, the God behind her dying. It is a terrible terrible sound, and all present are hushed for a moment as the power seems to flow into the heavens and into Xiaomei.
[Xiaomei unlocked all three bonus objectives of Survive the Onslaught and completed them!]
[Xiaomei gains +55 Respect with her Mother; +55 Respect with People of the new City; loses all respect meters with Teriah; +55 Respect with Order of the White Hawk; +55 Respect with Aphrial; +40 Respect with Order of the Moonlight Glade]
[Growth of the new City will be much easier for both economic and military power with easier flow of refugees, including ones with skills.]
[Xiaomei gains +1 Divine Essences point, [LOCKED]]
[You do not have enough vision to see what this does, nor when she can unlock it.]
---[x] Our host/vessel. Allow them to survive this battle. Give them greater store of magic powers to last the rest of their lives, and any descendants with good hearts be able to sense gods and become sensitive to their energies.
The leader of the Bjornjati bows to her for a second, then holds his blade up.
"Men! We need to find-"
The island refolds in, with the figure of Khaliah briefly appearing with a smile, and the others are returned. All present, including Xiaomei, bow in ritual prayer to her, and it's said this is how she became the patron goddess of Monsters.
"bury the dead of our enemy. We will then leave here, before more come." He finishes.
Come night, with Xiaomei being taught some more spells, including one that was used to avoid the lingering dead from cursing the land, and the magi coming back with a pale face, and the druids coming back from the mountains with a pale face, says it all. There are many beseechments to purify the land for those who may want to return, and the Bjornnati are talking about fortifying this portal and allowing more tribes to evacuate an increasingly more hostile region. Regardless, the plan is to get to the new city, reward the participants, and set up a true country for beastkin.
[Xiaomei gains "Fireball", "Peaceful Rest", "Icebomb"]
[Xiaomei gains skills "Spiritual Arts" and 10 ranks in it.]
- [ ] (30 RP, 2 AP) Spend Resources in assisting the Kerian Pantheon, who are a little overstretched trying to keep everything intact, and absorbing the power equally to empower the gods. (Note: This will mean having a positive relationship is very important.)
- [ ] Do not; local gods should take care of local worlds. (May have negative effects.)
The reinforcements had already left, and were apparently stopping patrols, by force, and expanding their military fortifications to allow for their own patrols, as planned.
From above, you can see that Teriah has suffered. Everyone they sent out never returned, some 160 people. The village is nearly dead, and will disappear into the tundra.
The gods do not seem inclined to assist it, and you get the feeling that this entire country is in for Interesting Times.
But first, name the new city.

To emphasize, Xiaomei only lived because of that 50 and the fact that there were some really good rolls earlier to keep the Pantheon as an active force. (DC 90 check to not die when you die.) I do not plan on making follow up fights this simple that most of the army dies before the battle starts.
You can also expect the enemy to take Xiaomei more seriously (she killed one, after all!). I do not want to do another mass combat like that again. This was way more work than it was worth.
whoever wants to make a plan, we should maybe try the dao of luck, we have bonus ap for this world, and dont immediatly need all of them. Also only one can have it, so i would like to get it before the enemy can.
[ ] (30 RP, 2 AP) Spend Resources in assisting the Kerian Pantheon, who are a little overstretched trying to keep everything intact, and absorbing the power equally to empower the gods. (Note: This will mean having a positive relationship is very important.)
I'm not very good at making plans, but I'm sure we should do this.
In terms of resources, I feel tempted to go with the best option. In any case, most of our neighbours will not like the country of "monsters". Although on the other hand, the absence of too large a reward can deter rulers from risky wars... an ambiguous situation.

Your Action

You hit on a bit of inspiration. Keria isn't a major world, so looking at the paths to it's core eliminated a lot of possibilities. You spot a few of Aphrial's, for example, but you are very sure they are only observing. You can tell by the fact that they were gambling on Xiaomei's reactions. One seems admiring.
This'll take some more time to eliminate down, but you think it's one of the Midnight Sects, who all have weird opinions about Death, who is often busy in the Palace Beyond the Heavens. Some of them don't think she's entirely real.
But they usually stick to philosophical debates that bog down any action in conferences. Direct action usually isn't their thing..
(3 turns of progress made; Result Tier +1)

I'm going to assume that Seria is a local god of some kind, as it's not a listed god in the Pantheon.
- [x] (30 RP, 2 AP) Spend Resources in assisting the Kerian Pantheon, who are a little overstretched trying to keep everything intact, and absorbing the power equally to empower the gods. (Note: This will mean having a positive relationship is very important.)
The Pantheon does greately appreciate it, becoming a bit more powerful, enough that they actually have meaningful interactions in the Bureaucracy. This does help a bit. (+5 to rolls in Celestial Intrique while on World 1.) (Relations increased with Kerian Pantheon)
- [x] Write In: Phoenix City
- [x] 30 RP: Medium amount of resources, enough to get started.
The city is named Phoenix City. There are several untapped iron mines, two silver, and one gold mine nearby. It is a fairly warm city, with a temperature range similar to Guangzhou, China. It is located at 7.62 S, 32.21W and roughly 252 feet above ground on the wide forested plain, with a river running through a section to allow for trade. It does recieve near constant rainfall, however, and the city was setup to reflect it.

It goes really well. Maybe too well, but the Cosmic Forces have their own agenda. You get the sense that they'll ask something of Xiaomei, though.

It took some time, because a bit of the Bureucracy is still up in an uproar. Which, in itself, is a hint that they must have been someone in some Celestial Department of one of the more important factions.
It'll take some more time to avoid some of the more subtle traps you can see in the messages, but you'll be able to find out.
(Will resolve next turn; does not need to be repurchased.)
-[x] RP Pool
--[x] Spend resources to make your interference less obvious to potential watchers in the Bureaucracy. (Enemy difficulty to directly affect your DCs increases, your bonus on opposing them increases. Cost: 80 RP.) (Action taken 1 time.)
(Bonus increases by +5)
It took some time, but you think you're reasonbly assured of it being fairly less obvious, but to make it truly unobvious will require you to fight through diminishing returns.
There's something wrong, though. You've spent quite a bit and not even gotten the most basic of arrays truly working.

Xiaomei Actions
Day 1 [30/Daisois/217 Tier]
Xiaomei got to rest in an actual bed that was of good quality that night, but she woke up early, and did her morning prayers to Kahria before doing her morning exercises with her sword, and ending it with some meditation. The memory of that technique lingered in her mind, so far away now, and she knew she'd had to work to ever get back to it.
She looked forward to it. It was something to challenge her to not fall behind.
During Meditation, she frowned at the energy it took to circulate her internal energy. She was going to have to work on refining this or she'd be able to only use it in limited spurts. And from what the Monk had mentioned, it was meant to be something you did even while sleeping.
[Xiaomei will be -50 Qi, -10 MP, -10 HP per day until she attains higher understanding of the secrets of circulating internal energy.]
She spent some time as the sun was rising to meditate and reflect on how she was moving her internal energy, watching it's flow. She would likely need to ask for help eventually, but she wanted to give herself a good chance first. If nothing else, putting in the work meant she was likely to get more assistance.
[1d100+12 WIS check vs DC 50 => 87 + 12 => 99; Major Success]
A thought occured to her while she was focused on this, and she got up with a sigh. She would need to take care of this immediately.
With a sigh, she headed to the Castle, although there was still no agreement on who would rule the city outside the council taking charge of it for now. Most were still debating, and there was little reason to establish any power structure until they were more secure on the ground. Indeed, surveying parties would be going out tomorrow to make more accurate maps, and determine if they needed more guard outposts. Today was focusing on securing the city and nearby farms that were being built. The druids and rangers were moving the trees and ensuring the forest would remain protected.
But for the time being, the adminstration of the city was in the Castle while the Guard detachments would be headquartered in the Keep when it was finished. That was the other thing. The city wasn't complete for this many people, so it was likely a lot of building would be going on for a while.
Xiaomei weaved her way to the Guard room, not surprised to see her moms there.
The fenne-beast turned in some surprise "Shouldn't you still be sleeping, Cilia?"
Xiaomei smiled. "I'm used to getting up early. But I had a thought during morning meditation - can we fortify the portal and find a way to shut it down to avoid Yang sending any forces through it?"
The three - a Bjornati had been reading a report quietly - looked at each other. "Of course. We didn't think of that. We only have a token force over there for now, as we're still looking for anyone who may be in danger.. but they can follow the tracks. We'll get started on that.."
The Bjornati frowned thoughtfully. "I have an artifact that can communicate over long distances. I was just contemplating if I should create a long ranged scout unit to investigate the nearby empire.. but that sounds like a better use. I'll get started immeditaely on a permament detachment. Cilia, as I understand it, you are walking the path of a Meditant?"
Xiaomei nodded, waiting for him to finish. "Then I'd like to ask you to take an afternoon patrol. It'll be a boost to morale, but we need more people in general. Training a constabulary is taking time - deliberatly - and the Order is often going to have almost everyone missions, diplomatic or otherwise. We can't dare stage our forces here, as the Moncolisan Empire can send a detachment here even with the ongoing Crusade creating so much problems for them."
Left unsaid, they all understood, is they'd need to put people in various villages, which meant checking on their condition, and establishing that the humans, elves, and dwarves living here, did have a voice in how things were run. Just not a major one.
[Phoenix City will establish a guard post on both ends, preventing infilitration by Yang agents.]
Xiaomei bowed. "It would be my honor."
The Bjornati smiles a bit. "It's ours, too. I'll get a schedule out, and more than likely we'll get you to doing patrols in the forest. In return, we'll soon be able to pay you a wage. One of the parties last night was doing a bit of prospecting and found a good desposit of iron and silver, and we think we'll be able to trade goods with friendly ports.. if we can get agreements." He rubs his nose. "That's more our problems, though. "
[Xiaomei has gained title "Phoenix Guardswoman" (+1 to Ranged/Melee Weapons, +10% Diplo/Persuade with Pheonix City Residents, -10% with Moncolisan Empire)]
"Understood, sir." Her moms smile a bit, but it's bittersweet in a way. Their daughter was growing up rapidly.
Xiaomei fell into a routine of meditating, prayer and exercise in the morning, and spending the rest in either studying, wandreing around town, or the forest, and the afternoons on a patrol route.
Day 11 [10/Panemos/217 Tier]
(Event: Katana Merger Event)
On the 11th day, Xiaomei is patrolling one of the roads being built. One of the Magi was a master at earth work, and a new paved road wide enough for carriages was being built for a main road, while the rest would be more carefully planned to not hurt the forest at all, and provide drainage.
There was some discussion about lighting. There were no bandits... yet. Xiaomei was patrolling to ensure that didn't happen any time soon. The uniform was your standard guards one, albeit with badge of a rising phoenix.
[1d100+21 Perception+12 WIS-6 No Qi Sensing Art vs DC 50 => 1d100+27 vs 50 => 81 + 27 => 108; Major Success]
As she rounded the hill, she felt a prescense, and stepped back, drawing her sword and rapidly parrying it, driving the older woman who had suddendly appeared back. She cackled in joy.
"Good, you have some skill!" The woman put her sword back. "I meet so many who only lazilly practice their martial arts once they start."
Xiaomei stared at her flatly. "You couldn't have used some other method of testing me? I have some confidence in my skills, but I know many of my fellow guards do not."
The woman smiles. "I feel that the Hero of the Glacier should stand up, even if it is clear you are not at such a peak anymore. But, I can also see you cannot sense my Qi. You must be quite self taught, and I think that's a worthy way to challenge yourself. " She eyed the katana hilt and katana on Xiaomei's side. "But such a performance deserves a reward. I'll be generous, and make it two." She roots around in air, and pulls out an elaborate book. "I have this for disciples I think show promise. It'll get you to the second stage of mastery of yourself, and even self-taught, you need a solid foundation to build upon."
[Xiaomei has gained "The Way of Flowing Lakes, Roaring Waterfalls and Still Waters", an instructional book that can be read and studies to improved Martial Arts and teach Initiate level Arts.]
"As for that katana.. and that artifact.. I can only tell you there's a mountain north of here. In it is a cave. You will find what you need there." The woman smiles, and then executes a flash step move.
Xiaomei was able to track her for only a second as she disappeared over the horizon. But she did briefly see how the Qi flowed around her, in what is only a very deliberate example, to show her.
[Xiaomei has gained a hint to Flash Step and Qi Sensing. She can now learn it from the book.]
Day 11-16:
Xiaomei had spent a lot of time using her Observe Aura spell, learning and practicing Qi Sensing and Flash Step. She wasn't so foolish to ignore the fact that she had been *deliberatly* shown it. She had also read the Instruction Manual several times, using the scroll to boost her gains. She *thought* she gained some knowledge, but it was very clear she'd have to push herself to her limits to truly internalize the steps. So, the last five days.
[Xiaomei has gained +1 INT, +1 WIS by using logic to use Observe Aura as an analogous method of learning Qi Sensing. Both have merged to the Art 'Perfect Vision'. Observe Aura has reached Max Level. Perfect Vision is now an Adept level of understanding. Flash Step is an Initiate level of understanding.]
[The results of her normal routine will be posted at the end of Encounters.]
Xiaomei was about as ready as she could be to investigate this cave. She didn't think it'd be wise to procastinate. The cave, it turns out, was a good half day away.
[1d100+26 vs Survival DC 50 => 74+26=>100; Major Success]
She had lucked out and found a pretty clear path, using flash step to move rapidly between trees and avoid the underbrush. She had to take a drink of a restorative before entering the cave, and reflected that she was still doing something wrong with her internal circulation. Flash-step was supposed to be far less straining. Something to work on.
As she entered the cave, she saw the form of a girl dressed in vines turn to face her with a serious expression.
"Good. I am Seria, the god of this land, and I need your help." She gestures deeper into the cave, which seemed darker than it should be. "The humans before you imprisoned my heart here, and I need you to free it and give it to me. Then, I can regain control of the forest, and be what I am supposed to be." She looks at Xiaomei.
"So far you and your kind have respected me, but I must be free to do some changes, and help the animals here." She smiles abit. "And I can make roads on my own, if your leaders and I can come to an understanding."
[1d100+26 Sense Motive vs DC 100 => [15 44] 70 vs 100; Minor Failure (Xiaomei can attempt this again at a lower DC if she has reason to.)]
That likely means regular offerings, the normal practice in most countries in Keria. It's seen as only their due. Xiaomei can't see anything wrong with this.
Xiaomei nods. "I humbly accept your charge." The girl vanishes, clearly not willing to speak more, or not able. Xiaomei takes warning from this.
[Xiaomei has gained the subquest [Keria][Trouble in the Jungle Chain] "Free the Heart of the Woods" ('The local goddess has charged you to recover her heart.. but what's it doing here, and how did it get trapped here?' Objectives: Free the Heart, ???, ??? Rewards: 100 XP, ??? or ???]
Xiaomei moved forward and almost immediately finds herself in a bad miasma.

[1d100+36 Resistance vs DC 70 => 88+36=>124 vs 70; Major Succcess (No effects, no more rolls needed)]
Xiaomei stopped as she spotted the dead bodies ahead of her, the effects of the miasma wearing off. Some of there were quite recent, and she read in blood next to one as it was clearly trying to crawl out. "SHE LIES".
Well, then. Xiaomei thought back to the convo.
[1d100+26 Sense Motive vs DC 85 => 100 + 26 => 126 vs 85; Critical Success]
Gods didn't usually show up covered in vines. Or have a heart. This miasma was likely caused by her, so-
Xiaomei immediately flash stepped back and out of the miasma, then cast five rapid succession fireballs into it as she flash stepped backwards.
[5 x 8d10 => 38+45+56+41+50 => 220]
There was an unearthly howl as the shadowbeast screamed in pain as the miasma was set on fire and burnt in a purple and blue flame. Xiaomei nodded grimly. Somehow, the local god had either been weakened, or this was a very convincing fake. She moved forward, noting the bodies had been purified by the fireball as well, and she noted where they were. She would need to give each of them a proper burial before she returned.
The cave lead to a dark altar covered with red and blue writing and a clear green orb in it's center, and a very injured "god" snarling at her. Xiaomei stared, in sudden understanding, and drawing her katana, focused her thoughts on the need for this shadowbest to end. To be returned so the true goddess could return. To purify. It looks like whoever had done this had someone come behind them and seal it to prevent the orb from being consumed.
The katana hilt lit up with a hum turning a bright orange-white, and Xiaomei flash stepped forward, trying a new technique. Rayblade, the ray of light, she remembered, imaging it, and then using the words that came to mind.
"[The Light That Cleans In Fire]" She called out, spinning as the blade issued a bright light and lanced through the altar and shadowbeast. The altar lit up in purifying flames, the writing disappearing and the orb releasing the god inside.
The shadowbeast was burning out before the god appears, looking just like her except dressed in a barkskin tunic, and angrily gestured, destroying the shadowbeast.
"You were as I was told." The goddess says, and Xiaomei can feel the power swirling. "I cannot promise to work with you, but I can say, as long as you and your city respect the forest, make proper offerings, and I will endeavour to make it so we can live and work side by side."
Xiaomei goes to bow, and is stopped. "You don't need to, Cilia." She smiles wryly. "You, of all people, do not need to. Put your katanas on the altar, and focus your energy. Kahria will assist you from there. Oh, and.." She frowns. "Please figure out who did this. They wore red with a black checker pattern on their shoulder."
[[Keria][Trouble in the Jungle Chain]; Objectives: Free the Heart, Defeat or Aid the False Goddess, Release or Kill the True Goddess Rewards: 100 XP, 3 Restorative Draught; Quest Complete]

Xiaomei files that knowledge, as she puts her katanas - the nameless katana, and the hilt decorated with patterns. She channeled her energy into it, and then found herself moving to the inspiration from Kahria, murmuring several players. The hilt merged together, and then seemed to shimmer, becoming a pale pink, as if it was a sakura wood, with a topaz gemstone near the activation button. But what surprised her is ..
[1d100 => 100; Extraordinary Result]
that it split into two artifacts, a paired set. The lightkatana hilt, a decorated sakura hilt with a topaz gemstone as an activator.. and a half of a chakram, with the same coloring. When activated, the chakram completed, both with a violet and orange color.
[Nameless Katana and Lightkatana have become 'The Arms of the Starry Heavens' [Artifact Level 1][Extraordinary Grade][Attuned] - +9 to-hit/+9 damage. When in use, the wielder throws off doubles, in a Bunshin like effect, granting the wielder +15% to Dodge.]
Xiaomei then bows to the goddess, the altar, and spends the next hour moving the bodies out, and giving them a proper buriel and prayer for their soul, before returning home.
[Meditant +2 progress]
Day 18 note:
[Xiaomei will be -30 Qi, -5 MP, -1 HP per day until she attains higher understanding of the secrets of circulating internal energy.]
Encounters:
Xiaomei has (3+4+0) = 7 chances for random encounters. (6 successes)
Encounter Rolls: [119 180 155 163 147 141]
Encounter 1 (Week 1):
During patrol routes, Xiaomei overheard a rumour between two nyaikits, about some hostile monsters = angered boars - who were seen near the river by some scouting parties.
[1d100+19 vs DC 37 => 39+19 => 58 vs 37; Success]
After thinking about it, Xiaomei made a note about the Angered Boars, and turned it to the Guard Captain. She heard the next day, that the party sent out and found the hostile monsters there and elimianted them before they could reach a farm.
Gain: 14 XP
Encounter 2 (Week 1):
Xiaomei is out helping the farmers plant their fields. Even with the assistance of magic, it would be a vital thing to get crops growing as fast as possible. They had some stocks, after all, but it wouldn't last more than a few months. Xiaomei, who wanted some practice, had been helping them expand from the moved crops from Yang. They likely wouldn't grow more than once in this climate, but that would get through winter. Setting up agrisheds was going to be something they'd do as soon as the other infrastructure projects were done, including the use of water stones and irrigation conduits.
Keeping the river flowing, and the forest happy, was something many felt strongly about. As such, she was listening to them complain about an odd occurance. Their crops had been moved into diamond patterns, and Xiaomei's eyes sharpened.
"That's a Mandagora. I'll deal with it."
Xiaomei approached the patterns, and a Mandagora popped up, ready to attack. She decided to start off on the right foot - no need to attack if she could manage it. She knew she couldn't persuade them - she seemed completely incapable of doing so - but she had to try.
[1d100+31 Empathy vs DC 50; 1d100+29 Diplomacy vs DC 50 => 21+31=>52; Minor Success; Diplomacy uses the 30 from the plan.]
Xiaomei sat there and worked out an agreement between her and the farmers, who were happy to have a crop protector, and the Mandagora, who were happy to have a place to live and maybe bring others if they could abide by the agreement. The Mandagora got a small section of the field for the herbs it liked, as well.
Gain: 36 XP
[Meditant progress: +1 ('The wise warrior knows when not to fight, as well as when to fight')]
Encounter 3 (Week 1):
Xiaomei was walking her route, which took her down a shaded lane when two fanatics wearing a blue and black robe with the sigil of a three-handed handshake attack her.
Xiaomei had actually spotted them, and drew her blade, igniting it and bringing it around her in a deadly dance. A civilian had seen this, and ran off to warn the guard. One of the fanatics went to attack the civlian, and Xiaomei stabbed her in the back. The other went down soon after, and the guard squad ran up only to see them dead.
"Pure Worlders." One spat. "We'll have to step up checks and patrols. You okay, Cilia?"
Cilia nodded. "They didn't break my armor, thankfully."
"Thankfully. Well." They shared a commiserating glance. Paperwork.
Gain: 48 XP
Encounter 4 (Week 2):
Xiaomei was walking down the patrol route, when people all dressed in black cloaks and carrying black swords - Xiaomei almost rolled her eyes - when the two people became ten, she became more tense.
"Foul spawn! You and all your kind shall die! But you first, for killing a god who brought salvation!"
[1d100+31+14+19 => 1d100+64 vs DC 60 => 84+64=> 148 vs 60; Major Success (damage now 3d10/2)]
Xiaomei drew the half chakram, which got some mocking looks before she ignited it and sent it into the mass, spinning it via her Qi and taking a few down as she jumped around and danced around, before docking it and switching to her sword as they neared melee range. Shortly, she had taken out quite a few, and was only taking glancing blows. Even more after that, she killed the last one, and took a deep breath. If the universe was trying to teach her that hesistation would get her killed, she knew that. If it was trying to get her over the revulsion of killing others, it was working VERY WELL.
[Roll: 1d100+31 vs DC 50 (-20 Spell Effect, Known Effect to Xiaomei) => 44+31=>75; Success; Gain "Dispel"]
She set the bodies on fire, saying a purification for the area to prevent any lingering spirits, as well as a hope for peace for the cultists. She still wished them a bit well. There was only a picture of her, and those blades, which she demonstrated to the guard captain, who was very white at hearing this, and then dispelled the curse on them after an hour of attempts. There was angry discussions going on with the diviners of the guild, who admitted they hadn't been able to see anything around Xiaomei ever.
Alerts were also sent out, and the guards began to talk about other measures to deal with these cultists.
Damage: 12/2=6
Gain: +1 Perform(Dancing) and +1 Combat Dancing; 19 XP, 5 tc, Dispel Magic (10 total casts)
Encounter 5 (Week 2):
Xiaomei was again on her patrols. She had refused to stop. Her own pride, as well as the fact that a meditant must not back down from any challenge, pushed her forward. She spotted, in the shadows, a nyankin leaving the city, with the flash of the symbol of the Moncolisan Empire. A convert, then, and likely an infiltrator. He snarled, and jumped up and attempted to escape with his information. She jumped from tree to tree, sending occasional bolts of magical energy at the nyankin, but it took nearly an hour of this before she hit and the kin was sent flying into a rock, headfirst, and dying.
She was really getting tired of this.
Gain: 10 XP
Encounter 6 (Week 2):
Xiaomei was about to cross the bridge built across a stream a bit outside, having gone looking to just explore when the sky and rivers turned red, all of a sudden, and she heard "Your doom approaches! You cannot stop it! You are dooomed!" accompied by the sound of laughter as she went flying before she was able to recover. The sky returned to the same, so did the stream, but. she still heard that mocking laughter..

Notes: There's been some mechanic changes because I can too easily see how this is going to run away on me. That's what took a while getting everything done, because it hit me while updating Xiaomei's sheet. Respect now has the +8 I forgot to add to the totals. New city added to setting post.
Actions now updated with a bit more information to show possible outcomes.
For subquest: Specifying the god is useful, leaving it blank basically means "Dealer's Choice."

hmm. would like more intrigue. i think a focus on getting more info and ressources, while helping the two gods, would be best. if we use the two good encounters next turn there is less risk to the mc.
I want to note that as it is now, they actually should get you out of more encounters, and I'm going to be spending some time today revising the encounter table to provide "good" options for a few. I'm also going to probably uprate the XP rewards because..
I miscalculated and Xiaomei actually leveled up! You have one more AP to spend.
So please add this to the vote:
You add 1 stat point to the pool on level up. See the Mechanics: Stat Growth for how much things cost. If you don't want to spend it, you can add it to the pool for later use.

is that leftover stuff from the urgent turns,or what
2. can we spawn an artifact that helps the city, not just the mc? would it make it cheaper if it wasnt portable by one person? i
i imagine a big altar that can be foind by the people, installed in a temple ,and increase the ressources the gods get from being worshipped and the ease of giving out blessings in the temple.
3. if we create an outside context object, can we make something like a crstal that works as a focus, allowing the mc to better meditate and train concentration?
4. i have forgotten, which actions we could take would get us most likely immediatly blocked by the enemy?
cause they cant do anything next round.
5. do we know what the mc is planning to do next turn?
if not,can we create like an animal companion that she can talk to so we can listen in?
6. do we have any idea when we will leave this world? i hope we have a lot of time...
That's leftover from RP. I'll yank it next turn. (At present, nothing will cause your regen to be less than full. That might change, but not on this world.)

You can't. Stuff like that is generically covered by the actions that aid local pantheons, or by potential questlines for Xiaomei. (If you want stuff like this, I would recommend focusing on getting her quests, or following up on request actions within a reasonable timeframe.)
3. if we create an outside context object, can we make something like a crstal that works as a focus, allowing the mc to better meditate and train concentration?
Even with one god dead, you're not near the enemies that just have a +IWIN amount to their roll. (Nor, frankly, are you likely to run into them unless you make some *really* bad decisions in a row.). The enemy starting in two rounds will take 3 actions, and two of them will be aimed at stopping actions you're doing, though. I will say that now is probably a better time to take the risky actions.
5. do we know what the mc is planning to do next turn?
if not,can we create like an animal companion that she can talk to so we can listen in?
Generally, no. I'll work on making it clearer in the narration, but you should assume that absent any indicators of specific actions, she'll be taking daily routines.
6. do we have any idea when we will leave this world? i hope we have a lot of time...
So far I'm suspecting it'll probably be sometime next month. Maybe. I'm actually thinking about this, because Xiaomei is meant to transmigrate at certain points, and I don't want her to simply outshine everyone, and that's a real risk the longer she's here. But I would assume you have at least 8 or 9 more turns, minimum. She's only L4 after all, and the capstone quest isn't until 10-11, and you *must* complete it.
Tangential note: while Xiaomei can die and go elsewhere on a series of good rolls. (that DC 90 roll and a DC 70 roll, for example), if you're in worlds where you have a "must complete", failure to do so will result in quest end. I'll obviously warn if I think it's anywhere near there (it's not) but I'd keep that in mind.
No, I mean, I forgot to delete the text when revising the ending segment c.c I'll probably do so now since I'm blocked on writing out the encounter table a bit further.
Risky options will tell you, e.g:
--[] Incarnation seems risky, but yet the enemy persisted? (3 FP per turn, some risk.)
Ah, actually. That regen is there to tell you more clearly what your normal total is along as some RP is preallocated. It'll disappear once the ongoing RP per turn cost is finished.
--[] Incarnation seems risky, but yet the enemy persisted? (3 FP per turn, some risk.)
we can o this just once and then halt the action for a few turns, right? can we do this twice in obe turn?

So. That should really be tagged to tell you it doesn't need to be taken every turn. I'm not entirely sure if you need to at this point, but I'll think on that. (You will almost certainly need to take one time at least.)
