is that leftover stuff from the urgent turns,or what

2. can we spawn an artifact that helps the city,not just the mc? would it make it cheaper if it wasnt portable by one person? i

i imagine a big altar that can be foind by the people,installed in a temple ,and increase the ressources the gods get from being worshipped and the ease of giving out blessings in the temple.

3. if we create an outside context object, can we make something like a crstal that works as a focus,allowing the mc to better meditate and train concentration?

4. i have forgotten,which actions we could take would get us most likely immediatly blocked by the enemy?

cause they cant do anything next round.

5. do we know what the mc is planning to do next turn?

if not,can we create like an animal companion that she can talk to so we can listen in?

6. do we have any idea when we will leave this world? i hope we have a lot of time...

It's not one of the Midnight Sects, or at least, it's not organized by them officially. It is certainly someone who is a member, or goes to their parties, though.

You know that the Order of the Moonlight Grove, an order that focuses on self-improvement is actually aiding you by working to keep the Bureaucracy's self policing forces working at all. It's actually this that lets you narrow it down to Hong Meiling, the "avatar" of Protection, according to her, and a member of the faction advocating for greater action by gods in realms they are not neccesarily local or welcome in.

She is a Senior Director, and as such, you'll need to be clever in counteracting her. But the faction tends to be very predictable in how it intervenes, giving you some tools. It also explains why she even knew your room existed.

There is definitely something going on there. It's in disrepair, and while teams are working on it, you spot there's quite a lot of issues that need fixing. Peculiarly, you spot Hong Meiling's agents slowing down work on it.

This is odd, as it's the primary way to move between various worlds and universes.

The Labyrinth of Regret is often the place most mortal souls linger in longest before they can be sent to reincarnation or a world better suited for them. It is one of the primary conduits of mortal transmigration. And it is also a construction deliberatly meant to be outside the games of the Bureaucracy.

It is in extreme disrepair. It looks like it has been deliberatly broken down. But this is also something you can't do, without breaking the same structures they did and inflicting more damage. However, Khaliah and Serian *can*, and grimly stare at it before calling in a bunch of friends. A lot of minor pantheons, after all, have been getting supsicious.

[The Labyrinth of Regret will auto-repair in 20 10 turns, due to getting their aid. This will block both yours and the enemys actions without establishing friends with the local pantheon. As you have made friends with the Pantheon, you do not suffer any negative penalties from the repair of the Labyrinth of Regret.]

A school is started, by a group of refugees who had dug up their hidden treasure. It's also part magical academy and theological school. It's growing rapidly, partially as the guards are using it as a way to treat their mages and fighters.

[Xiaomei .. will have new encounters next turn. But her daily training now includes increase in magical and combat skills beyond cultivation of the self. Training DC lowered to gain skills.]

Xiaomei takes her daily routine: early morning training, working as a maid in the city hall building during the morning, school in the early afternoon, patrols in the afternoon and evening.

Encounter 1: Encounter an Omen. [7 98]

Xiaomei saw the light from a window coincidentally fall in the shape of a noose. Xiaomei snorted, and with a wave, dispelled the Omen.

Encounter 2: The Sorceress and her Spell. [7 8]
Xiaomei was patrolling the city, when she ran across a fennebeast trying to get a spell right. Xiaomei explained how to cast it, and the fennebeast nods excitingly, having taken notes. She goes to cast it and.. Xiaomei's fur turns bright green for the day. The fennebeast looks mortified, and Xiaomei spends the rest of the day in her room.

Encounter 3: The Fate of the Missing Village Dal-az-Kah. [23]

Xiaomei had been following up on a lead provided to the guard house. The Guild was not yet entirely functional, as they had to get sanction and that was proving ..fraught. The village *looked* normal, but no one returned, which was.. well.

Once she got near, she could sense the death magic lingering on it. And she focused, and with a lightning fast move, jumped in and expanded her spirit to banish the lingering dead. The "villagers" turned out to be shadows or zombies dressed as people with a basic glamour, and they crumbled to dust in her prescense. A howl of anger came from the nearby chapel, and Xiaomei dashed in, lighting her blade and moving forward with a flash step, decapiting the Necromancer.

She began to investigate to see anyone lived, and was surprised to see a barred cellar. Knocking on it, she spotted two families and what looked like an adventurer wore down but happy to see a living soul wearing a uniform, even if they didn't recognize the patch.

"Hello, I am Cilia, of the Pheonix City Guards." She introduced herself. "I was investigating a rumour and..." She gestured. "The necromancer is dead, and those he enthralled are now in the arms of their Gods, in the eternal happiness of Night."

The adventurer nods, also wearing a sigil of Khaliah. "May the Goddess of the Night keep them forever on the road of happiness. I was beginning to fear my spells would run out before the aura could get to us. Can you help me get them to .. Pheonix City?" She didn't recall a major city here.

Xiaomei nods, and they were all surprised. Clearly, whatever happened must have started before the refugees fled there.. but all were happy to get somewhere that could help them. The guild rep there was startled, and then nodded.

"If your guardswomen can handle B-rank quests, that is enough for us to place a Guild here." They said. "It'll be good to have one out here, given the monsters that live in the jungle - the nonthinking ones." They hurriedly added at the look.

Encounter 4: The Aunt in the Woods

Xiaomei was busy patrolling when she saw a very upset keribeast trying to hire someone, but the Guild wasn't up yet, so they were forced to ask people on the street. Xiaomei stopped to listen.

Apparently, their aunt had been packing up their cabin and intended to move to a farm near the city, but hadn't been heard of, and she had heard there were a herd of fire-wolves moving through as it got warmer and warmer there. Xiaomei nodded, and went off to investigate.

As she neared the cabin, she could spot why the relative hadn't left. The aunt was getting stalked, and Xiaomei grimly spent a few hours killing the fire-wolves and escorting her back to the city. She also reported this, and the guard captain swore colorfully.

"I'll up the patrols. We really need more people, or at least, people willing to do partial patrols past the walls." Xiaomei nodded.

Gain: 6 fire-wolf pets, sold for 5 sc; 32XP

Encounter 5: The Absent Minded Professor [35 4 4 23]

Xiaomei was spending some time going to the market to get some supplies for keeping the city hall clean. She ran across an odd fellow.. who reminded her a lot of the dude from Teriah, if she was honest. So much she looked for the herbalist he'd been training.

But she didn't find one. So he spent time to her talking about Kerian Customs - this time, the Grand Duchy of Chalapixtla. In return, he asked for help for a trivial task..that turned out to be difficult.A tribe of pixies had moved into his house, and were playing around with magic, and it took a few hours to both chase them out and set the house to rights. In apology for the time, Xiaomei was handed a scroll.

Encounter 6: Rumble at the Silver Mine [20]

Xiaomei was dispatched due to some weird reports from a prospecting party investigating setting up at the silver mine.They mentioned it seemed abnormally hot. Xiaomei thought on it as she hurried down the road, exercising with her flash step to better master it.

She had a sinking suspicion as to what was at the mine.

She arrived, to see their astonished faces at someone arriving so quickly. This turned out to be vitally important as a Fire Elemental formed, and it took all of them to defeat it without losing anyone, which might have happened.

They thanked her profusely for this.

"No need. I was just doing my duty." Xiaomei responded. "I'm glad to see you all made it out."

Encounter 7: The Forest of Kar.

Xiaomei spent time helping druids and rangers use their magic to move trees from a planned farmland to a protected planned forest. Xiaomei's assistance was helping with wards and lending her strength more than anything, but she got to watch the arts of nyakits and others who tradiionally built their cities and farms within the forests and in such a way as to protect them. That said, they were all upset to see some humans lurking with wood cutting tools.

After talking failed to drive them off, they were all arrested instead for trespassing.

Gain: +29 XP.

Encounter 8: The Wanted Criminal [15 88]

Xiaomei was doing a routine patrol of the roads near the city when she spots someone trying to remain silent and hidden. They haven't yet noticed her, and she frowns. They match a wanted post put up - a robber at knifepoint. She tries to sneak over and takes the criminal by surprise, knocking the woman out and bindingher before returning her to the jail in the Guardshouse, then returns to her patrols.

Gain: +33 XP, +5 Adv. Guild XP, +3 Rep with Pheonix City Guards

Encounter 9: The Circle of Knowing [0 52]
Replaced With Positive Encounter

Xiaomei had been sent by her mother to assist in getting this toewr up. The Magi needed a proper tower for multiple reasons, from safer training, to storing thier tomes and spells, and to just having a proper facility for divination and anti-divination. There was something off about the site they picked, however.

On arriving, Xiaomei could feel it.The land had some malaligned mana flows, and none of the magi were experts at manipulating the spirits and flow of mana.

[16 + 36 => 52 vs 40; Success]

She, thankfully, was adept at it, and began to move and realign the mana flows so the construction could begin in earnest. It took a few hours, and she was sweating with the effort when it was done, but it was now holding. The leader asked her to return tomorrow night, with the rise of the two crescent moons tomorrow, to help finish, and handed her a list of materials they needed with the request to get what they could.

The Next Day, Xiaoemi set off. The crystals would likely need to come from the warped wood to the west, where a great battle had evidently once been, as the mana flows still crystalized in that area, and no one had to managed to change it.

Even using flash-step, it took her time to get there, and it was nearly sunset before she returned with all of the ingrediants. She arrived at the tower's base just in time, and joined the proceedings.

Soon, the tower was gleaming with the mana poured in it to establish it's wards and defenses, and erupted in a beautiful glitter of rainbows.

Pheonix's City Tower of Magi was open for business, and with the spare crystals she brought, there were talks of a second tower so they could have each tower foucson something.

Encounter 10: I'm telling all y'all, it's a SABOTAGE [15 1 49 66]
Xiaomei, like all of the guards, pulled double duty in helping build the city. Today, they were working on the medium size houses meant to house families and wealthier merchants. Construciton was stopped, though, when a mysterious device was found.

A bomb. This device was a bomb.

Xiaomei managed to disarm it, gaining insight into making magical devices in the progress. Still.. who would place a bomb here, and be malicious enough to arm it only when the house was complete and kids were moving in?

The guard looked at Xiaomei, and then in an impromptu ceremony, promoted her to Detective-Inspector. Xiaomei got the message immeidately, and the rest seemed relieved at how seriously the guard took this.

The Mage's Guild looked at it, and promised a full report in a week.

Encounter 11: An Ill-Fated Encounter [1 12 49 88]

Xiaomei was doing a patrol, when she spotted an adventuring party. It was coming from the direction of the portal, which always made her suspicious. She was almost ready, therefore, when they spotted her and screamed obscenities at her in Yang.

Xiaomei was pushed quite a bit dealing with an C-rank adventurer party by herself, but the recent practice of her techniques saw her through with minimal harm. (-12 HP). Although, with all the dodging she had to do, she knew she was going to have to work on her blocking more, or mastering her techniques more fully. Kiting was an ancient tactic, but not one she enjoyed.

She was about to resume her patrol when it hit her. How did a *Yang* party get here except by the portal? She turned and ran for the portal, using flash step gingerly, with all of the expenditure of her Qi.

When she arrived..

Just wanna take a moment to tell you how much I appreciate you continuing, even with just one or two voters.

I know how that can be disheartening
 
It is, but I figure the only chance to get more voters is to continue onward. Besides, I'm grateful I have interest. (Still working on the post, it's just making me think my way through a few things, but I'm nearly halfway down.)
