The people have spoken. Additionally, I'll give you guys a +3 to both rolls for voting unanimously. This is a one time thing since I'm feeling generous.

Apparently the dice disagree.

..at this rate, we should really count how many bad events have occured, and make a betting (not really) pool of how many bad event rolls will occur in a row. :V

..I'm guessing the Ladybug improves their cultivation whilst having Poison Qi. Oof.

Day 41: A Poisonous Ladybug
It's clear that the Ladybug has to die. Having refined your Qi, yours and the Ladybug's fates have intertwined and naturally in the animal world, that means one has to slay the other.

You activate your movement technique in a flash, using your superior speed to weave through the ladybug's attacks as well as insert your own counterattacks.

Turning into a cultivator has strengthened the Ladybug's shell so you can only marvel at how it uses its innate techniques to deflect your attacks.

It seems that the poison qi has synergized well with the Ladybug's ability to secrete a stinky residue. Its residue is now poisonous and it sprays you with it, flooding your meridians with its poisonous Qi.

Rolled a 1+6 Battle Power+3 QM Bonus=10
Ladybug Damage: 29/50 > 39/50
Ladybug Counterattacks
Rolled a 16+1 Battle Power= 7 Battle Damage
Your HP: 47/60
Used Beetle Charge
Rolled a 9+6 Battle Power+3 QM Bonus-3 Beetle Charge= 15
Ladybug Damage: 39/50 > 54/50
Ladybug has been slain

Sadly, it seems that the Ladybug has cultivated its Poisonous Qi to the point that it's useless for food. However, you can still use it as a cultivation material... or an even more devilish thought crosses your mind. You can string the Ladybug's remains across the area in an attempt to attract predators. With the Ladybug's potent Poisonous Qi, it will only attract cultivating predators. This effect will last for 5 turns, growing more potent with each turn until it disappears at the end of the 5th day.
[][Ladybug]Use the Ladybug as cultivation materials and gain 60 Cultivation XP. You will also gain 3 Poison Energy.
[][Ladybug] Use the Ladybug as bait in order to attract more predators to your lair.

You are wounded and will consume .1 more food per turn. You have 43/60 HP and will recover 6 HP per turn REGARDLESS of your hunger level.
Part of your shelter has collapsed, letting in the elements. You will consume .1 more food.
You have consumed 1.2 more food, bringing your total to .9 food.
You have 1 Fungus Farm which will produce 1 food in 1 turns
You have gone 2 days without churning your Qi. If you go 4 days without churning your Qi, it will disperse and set you back to the Initial 1st Realm of Qi Gathering.
You have 1 Poison Energy coursing through your meridians.

Select 3 actions to be taken over the next 3 turns

[] Try to salvage food from the ruined colony (1/10)
[] Try to expand your meager shelter (10/40)(You cannot expand your lair until you fix the collapsed area)
[] Fix the collapsed area (0/??)
[] Work towards expanding your fungus farm. (5/40)
[] Try to get a feel for the mysterious energy surging within you (Initial 2nd Realm of Qi Gathering 32/60)(You cannot cultivate in your lair without first getting rid of the black tarry substance)
[] Cultivate outside your lair (Small chance of summoning a predator)
[] Purge the Poison Qi (0/?)
[] Cultivate the Poison Qi (0/??, costs 10 Cultivation XP per attempt)
[]Seek out Qi Vein (0/???)
[] Deposit the black tarry substance just outside your lair (0/??)
[] Deposit the black tarry substance far from your lair (0/??)(Medium chance of encountering ??? Level predator. Predator encountered will fight to the death)
[] Train the (QiBlood) technique, Qi Burst (Initiate 0/???)
[] Train the (Lightness) technique, Beetle Charge. (Initiate 0/???)
[] Try to integrate into a new colony (0/??)
[] Take over another colony (0/???)

This thread needs a proper exorcism

..ookay, nevermind then, that works but no food sucks! If we get the cultivation EXP (hypothetically!), do we still have to circulate/churn our Qi? o.o?
Yes, cultivation as an action is separate from absorbing the ladybug

So we're likely using the Ladybug as bait to potentially get a juicy Predator (or die in the process due to pulling something stronger, either really), whilst getting food the next turn and churning our Qi the day after since we're rather low on food. QM, I'll assume our Qi Burst is available since there's no mention of it being in cooldown?

Alright, since the exorcism resulted in two Nat20s, you guys have two Nat20s to apply to any action. This will expire if you reach the next realm (3rd Realm of Qi Gathering) without using it.

Just use it like you would a skill.

Yes, Qi Burst is available on the third day of a 3 day plan

Guys, I suggest we get rid of that tar once and for all (hopefully a nat 20 is enough). :V Not sure how to use the other Nat 20 but maybe fixed the collapsed area? Hm...
Crits during cultivation tend to give us good cultivation things, and those things tend to be really really useful.

Therefore I am going to suggest we spend BOTH nat 20s on a cultivation action while using the ladybug as a cultivation aid.

[] Plan Hit the Gas, single action
- [][Ladybug]Use the Ladybug as cultivation materials and gain 60 Cultivation XP. You will also gain 3 Poison Energy.
- [] Cultivate outside your lair
-- [] Spend Nat 20
-- [] Spend 2nd Nat 20 on the event roll

In essence we attempt to force gain a poison related QI ability.

Plan invalid due to clarification. Reworking.

EVENT crits give you good things.

Action crits do nothing.

The 20s can only be spent on actions, not events

Ok, with that clarification I am going to go with this plan

[] Force a fight
- [][Ladybug]Use the Ladybug as cultivation materials and gain 60 Cultivation XP. You will also gain 3 Poison Energy.
- [] Deposit the black tarry substance far from your lair (0/??)(Medium chance of encountering ??? Level predator. Predator encountered will fight to the death)
- [] Cultivate outside your lair
-- [] Use nat 20
-- [] Use Qi burst
- [] Deposit the black tarry substance far from your lair (0/??)(Medium chance of encountering ??? Level predator. Predator encountered will fight to the death) x2

We eat the ladybug to force up a cultivation level. This will buffer our HP by giving us an additional 10 max. We then try to lure a predator in who will "Fight us to the death". I THINK that translates to a fight to the death where we can eat them afterwards.

Alternate plan

[] Safe and steady while we wait for a fight
- [][Ladybug] Use the Ladybug as bait in order to attract more predators to your lair.
- [] Try to salvage food from the ruined colony (1/10)
-- [] Use nat 20
- [] Cultivate outside our lair
-- [] Use Qi Burst
- [] Try to salvage food from the ruined colony (1/10) x2
-- [] Use nat 20 x 2

Here the idea is to force +2 food from salvaging food from the ruined colony twice while cultivating slow and steady. We want to build up a buffer of food and heal while we wait for a predator to be attracted so we can kill it to get a significant buffer that will last until we can fix the buildup of problems that have beset us.

I'd like to confirm how far we are from hitting 3rd Realm and losing those nat20s.

Here are the levels we have went through so far.

Early 1st Realm of Qi Gathering 00/20
Middle 1st Realm of Qi Gathering 00/30
Late 1st Realm of Qi Gathering 00/40
Peak 1st Realm of Qi Gathering 0/50
Initial 2nd Realm of Qi Gathering 00/60

Each level cost 10 more xp then the previous. My guess is that there are 5 levels per realm and 1st Realm didn't have the Initial level as breaking past that is what made us become aware.

If the +10 xp per level continues, then we have 60+70+80+90+100 xp for the entire 2nd Realm, minus the 32 xp we already have we are 368 xp away. That means we can take the 60 xp for an immediate power boost and still have time to use the nat20s for best effect.

[X][Ladybug]Use the Ladybug as cultivation materials and gain 60 Cultivation XP. You will also gain 3 Poison Energy.

This is roughly correct

So, I think the biggest urgent priority for us right now is probably food.

The difficult thing is that because we are injured, and the damaged shelter is consuming extra food, we're at risk of entering a death spiral where even two farms or foraging actions will not provide enough food to avoid our hunger status ticking up.

Luckily we have those Nat 20s, so the crucial thing is how we use them. We could use them to rush through building another farm, or repairing our shelter, or foraging to get 2 Food per action, or some combination of those things. Or we could go with attracting more predators, as they're the best food source of all.

Sadly, if we don't attract a ??? level predator, which keep in mind is not certain, and is actually reduced in chance because we have poison Qi, then this plan is likely to lead to us starving to death.

Could we combine this with putting our cultivation gunk outside our lair, to increase the chance of attracting predators? When one predator arrives, can other predators arrive after that one, or will it scare them out of the area?

Lastly, if we do a plan where we're cultivating outside on Day 43 and a predator shows up, will it attack us automatically?

Hmmm...

Then best we play it safe for a bit and try to stockpile food.

[X] Safe and steady while we wait for a fight

- [X] Try to salvage food from the ruined colony (1/10) x2
-- [X] Use nat 20 x 2

This nets us 4 food over 3 turns, plus the 1 food from our farm, so total 5. This should give us a bit of a buffer while we fix things and wait for a new predator to show up we can fight and kill.

You can combine it with cultivation gunk so their chance of attracting preds go up. If a pred appears, I will interrupt the plan so you guys can choose what to do

Hmmm, actually, wait, I've thought of something...

@Tam Lin, I know this is might be a bit of a stretch, but since it's not technically an event roll, could we use one of our Nat 20s on the roll that is made for the chance that the ??? predator shows up if we choose to deposit our gunk further away? Essentially making it certain that something does turn up?

Pretty pleeeeeaaaase?

[X] Plan: the real crit success is the friends we made along the way (plus food security)
