You wake up on Sunday morning with the understanding that, if it doesn't end up being the worst night of the year, it's only because there's a fierce competition. You're trying not to actually rank them, because that would mean looking back at them all, and that's enough for you to understand how bad it's gotten.
First it was Thanatos, then Strega started showing up... at least they won't be here, unless they've broken out of prison recently.
You're not looking forward to tonight.
Yukari-san approaches you shortly after breakfast. "So, we were thinking about our strategy for tonight... are you sure you want to come with us? I mean...." You can't remember if you're the one who told her what this day was, but she clearly knows now.
You nod. "I have to do this." You've missed out on multiple fights already, some for reasons beyond your control. You can't miss this one.
I want to see what it is I left everyone to deal with.
"You really don't..."
"I can handle this! Really!" You're not going to break down if someone looks at you too hard. You knew it was going to be difficult when you were thinking over your decision, you don't need anyone else to be doubting you. "I've been practicing for this!"
You haven't shown anyone Kala-Nemi yet. Of all the things that will be different tonight from every night before, this is the one you think will attract the least questions. It's not like it's the first time this sort of thing has happened.
But as far as showing off your new Persona... this feels like a good night for it.
A way of confirming the past won't be repeated.
Just being able to do that will make all the weirder than normal stuff completely worth it.
You aren't sure that your hair is made to have things pinned to it for very long.
But it's the only way you'll ever know what this thing does, so you think you can put up with it. Who knows, maybe it's something useful.
You aren't sure if that usefulness applies to this particular situation, but there's no real harm in trying.
The ornament is in your hair. You have your Evoker in one hand, and your spear in the other. Under different circumstances, maybe this wouldn't be noticed by anyone.
But not only do you have a different weapon, you're wearing something that none of the others have ever seen before.
Not only that, but today is the day when everyone is looking at you.
So it shouldn't be any surprise when Makoto-san blinks at you. "...Where'd you get that?" You can't tell if he's talking about the ornament or the spear. You can't ask, because that would mean acknowledging there was anything unusual about them.
And you don't want to do that right now. You can worry about acknowledging the mess your life has become in the morning. Not right now.
...You're going to have to tell him something, aren't you?
[ ] Lie. You bought these perfectly normal objects at a perfectly normal store, and no one knows what you've done these past weeks well enough to say otherwise.
[ ] Lie. You dug these things out of a briefcase in Tartarus, and no one will remember your last trip there well enough to say otherwise.
[ ] Lie. If you say Lavenza was involved with this, no one will be brave enough to say otherwise.
[ ] "My room?" You could totally convince him you've had these all along, right?
[ ] "Does it matter?" You really don't want to deal with this right now.
