[X] Plan As All Things Should Be – 5 TE for [Werewolf Fight], 5 TE for [Saving Potter], 5 TE for [Last Act]

[X] This could be a Tragedy – You still don't know if Black and Pettigrew are innocent or not. Maybe only one of them is a criminal, maybe its both of them. It's very simple. You don't care. Lupin would be a tragedy. But it is more important to save the students and keep both of yourselves without bites

I honestly think it's suicidal and out of character for Jacob to prioritize the lives of strangers versus keeping ourself safe and werewolf bitten free.

[X] Plan As All Things Should Be – 5 TE for [Werewolf Fight], 5 TE for [Saving Potter], 5 TE for [Last Act]
An even split is a good investment they are all really important.
[X] Alive and well - Prioritize keeping Black, Pettigrew and Lupin alive. This will impact the rolls against you. When one tries to get it all … one might lose it all.
I don't think Jacob would really care too much about anyone here, it's just that Lupin, Black and Pettigrew are the key to solving the mystery and keeping them all alive would be the biggest challenge which Jacob would love.

Jacob needs to eat shit and learn some goddamn empathy and humility. Kid's arrogance and straight up insensitive nonsense is so off the charts that were this not a quest it would be great setup for a humble pie of a century...well if the rolls go a certain way maybe they will

Fuck them. No reason to try to turn into a stupid idiot here. The adults don't need an kid to save them. We will do our part and save the kids.

Really sad we decided to go to an authority figure here. This might have been more fun otherwise. Fuck the police :V

Yeah. Do think that Jacob should have a heart to heart with his father over the Lupin conversation during the summer break.

That and eat a Snickers.

While the details we have for the saving Harry and the Last act are minimal, it's worth discussing strategies and possibilities. Good ideas the thread has makes Jacob's missions easier. The quest is fundamentally more narrative than mechanical.

Protego to stop the werewolf? Not sure if we have any other applicable spells. Waddiwasi would have been useful to flick the timeturner at him, but alas.

For Sirius someone mentioned Spongify the ground he lands on, but might be worth to spongify the window glass as well so that it doesn't break into shards. Maybe prepare a trap for Sirus? We know Pettigrew is running north, but dunno if there's time to prepare anything for him.

If we want to get a bit brutal about it we could use Avifors and send the birds down Lupin's throat/peck his eyes, we could also make a surprise entrance with the Spongify + Flippendo combo on a wall of the shack and then repair it later in the fight, the goggles will even let us see through the wall so we're not doing it blind.

A bright lumos into the eyes could probably stun any enemy at least for a bit, especially since their eyes have adjusted to the dark.

Our patronus could also be used as a distraction against Lupin.

We could use diffindo to take out supports in the shack and collapse the roof on Lupin, then jump on his back while he's down and use the time turner, which probably puts us in the best position to flee once we arrive back in time.

We could break the window before Sirius goes flying through it so he's not as injured. Hell, since all we saw on the map is Sirius getting near Lupin and then going flying, if we time it right we could transfigure him into a rabbit and then flippendo him through it (assuming we broke it earlier) without him being hit or injured at all and no paradox would occur. If we do the spongify and flippendo thing then we could make it the wall Sirius goes through so that this manuvere is much easier.

As for capturing Pettigrew we could set fires in the forest to herd him where we want. Transfiguring his rat form into a bunny would be a good idea as well, make it bright white and he'll both be easier to catch, track and hit with spells. An immobulus would probably do quite a bit of good here as well.

If we see him in his human form diffindo his leg off, or, failing that, take his hand, fingers, toes etc so he can't run as a rat. These can be regrown, diffindo isn't a dark spell. A shot to the eyes would also make him next to useless.

If chasing after Pettigrew as a rat we could use avifors and summon birds that hunt rats and use them to get him, our goggles should make tracking him easier as well.

Uh, those are all the ideas I've got. Anyone else got any?

The first sapient being death on Jacob's hands should be the soul snatcher or the shit fea.

The last act is likely to involve multiple Dementors.
At least thanks to the all Buckbeak situation not happening (somehow), we don't have ministry guys running around.

EDIT:
Oops, I had forgotten that the Acromantulas are sapient.

I feel like this is going to push Jacob to grow even more, but now into the Dark Arts so he can have that raw destructive power. So next year is Mind Arts, Dark Arts and Animagus.

I hope everyone can agree to have more Empathy and a stronger social support network inplace before delving too deeply into magic that affects the mind, and have permanent scars in mind and body as a risk.

Especially after this Lupin debacle, seeing him oblivous with Megan is all well and good; But being a insensitive dumbass* in more serious situations will leave destruction in his wake as he grows up.

*Because if he had been more tactful (Empathy) he probably would have had alot more options right now on how to end this in a good way.

Potter, Weasly and Granger is inside the shack though so I wouldn't go for collapsing the roof. Or doing something with the structural integrity beyond doing something with the windows. One thing that can change Jacob's approach to things quite a bit is when he use the time turner and how far back he will go. I think Potter and Granger went back 3 hours in the books, so the Jacob that will go into the hut to save Harry might know a lot more about the situation. Future Jacob might already know that Sirius is innocent, or he could go a while back in time to prepare as much as possible. Messages could be left in the shack etc.

I wonder if the massive amount of dementors will show up at some point?

Even if we weren't doing it for IC reasons, we're quickly hitting a bottleneck on our best stats due to low empathy and con, so we'll need to up it anyway. I'd personally like to get it to 5 soon if we can.

Jacob is about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the knee when it comes to talking to other people.

Honestly, the guy shows up at a teacher's office and says "I know you're a werewolf. Also you're a bad teacher. Why didn't you tell anyone Black was an animagus when you thought he killed your friend? What else are you hiding?". And that was apparently supposed to be a prelude to the real part of the conversation with Pettigrew.

Ho boy I think Jacob has some reflecting to do this summer.

Frankly. I rather liked the conversation. Jacob was just being honest, not his fault Lupin is so fragile and shit.

If we play it well, Sirius dot is not moving because he we trapped him to interrogate later and not because he is siriously injured.

Edit : Maybe before we didn't know if Pettigrew was bad or not. But we literally saw him lead a werewolf to children to unsure he would be able to run. That and he definitely faked his death. We might not know Sirius intentions but we definitely know Pettigrew is not good.

Here's a tally. Looks like saving everyone is going to win, but how we spend our time echoes is still up for contention.

Or if we find out that he's actually not a mass murdering lunatic, we could just be trapping him to complete the temporal loop in such a way that there isn't a paradox.

The really fun thing about this is, that we have a confirmed four Time Turners at the same time.

There is:
1. Hermione with her OG Time Turner,
2. Pettigrew that brought Lupin to the fight with a Time Turner as he is fleeing the scene
3. Our other self while waiting in front of the building
4. A werewolf Lupin in the forest that was thrown back in a previous timeloop.

I would love to read the first few time jumps while these timeloops were being set up. Now we only see the results of them and if I understand it right at the end of this there will be only the Time Turner with Pettigrew still there. Time Turner 4, 3 and 1 disappear at different points of the loop.
