Approaching Mal rather than Horus feels like an unwise prioritization of the guy that is no friend of ours and isn't above playing political games over the Warmaster who's already in our corner.

...Also for all their faults, I think we have to seriously think about bringing the AL in on this. The spymasters for an espionage job that also have a surprising amount of Marines- and temperamentally are suited for kinslaying? And that seals our alliance?

I'm leaning towards

[X] Yes. Frame it as a capture/neutralize operation that "may have to" resort to field execution.

Malcador is just coming off watching us help screw his political agenda, he has reason to tattle to big E rather than to help us, I really don't think he's going to be the help you guys think he is.

OMG is just got publicly dickslapped, and this lets him reinstate some authority and power so I can see why he'd be down for it. On a pure upside for us if we ever get called to task for it we can just deflect the blame onto him "Malcador told us to take out Curze because his Excessive War CrimesTM are causing problems." and absolutely nobody will question it because that's possibly the most believable lie ever told. People will question if it was legal and why we went along with it but that's a problem for tomorrow's Angron. Also on a personal level it could be a fucking a trainwreck and I want to see how that works out.

Dorn is interesting. Sure he's normally the stoic guy who does things by colouring inside the lines but there are also times where he's willing to just go apeshit and murder people, this is the father of the Black Templars after all. I also just really want to see how Dorn gets written because he's tied with the Khan for my favourite primarch.

They're also gonna have their hands full with keeping up the crusade while also setting up a (or, more realistically, making room in their existing) big covert network to shelter Magnus' sorcerous scholars.
Call me cynical, but I think it's less hiding and more Men Who Stare At Goats. Prospero is a goldmine of Psyker recruits, this is just a step up to grabbing valuable combat experience.

-[X] Suggest tactics and allies: we're Angron. Don't overthink this. Approach Konrad's compound and wreck his shit. Corax will take care of stragglers, intelligence and opsec.

If we ask Russ for help, he's going to either,
a) Go straight to Big E for approval, blowing the whole 'secrecy' thing out of the water,
b) Try to turn up to the battle late enough that we've already killed Kurze, and he can execute us for having gone rogue and attacking 'friendlies'
c) Both.

Russ is hates us. That's not a problem to be worked around or solved - he is our enemy, and is going to try to shank us just because he can.

Maugan said that it would take a extreme situation to get Angron and Russ to work together and I should think going after Konrad would count as a extreme situation and it could be a way for them to learn to hate each other a little less. Russ is not a idiot and he would prioritize dealing with Konrad crazy over stabing Angron and Corax of all people in the back. I am not saying we go to him but getting him to help deal with Konrad is not impossible.

My thude, stop kidding yourself. Corax didn't approach us asking to bring Konrad to heel, or to 'deal with him' however we could. He approached us specifically to kill Konrad. The dude is a revolutionary out to kill monsters, and Konrad is a monster - that's the start and end of it.

If Corax has been willing to wait decades to deal with Konrad's crazy then I don't think he's going to step in to just to cut Night Hunter's head of we get Cruze disabled in front of him and Angron. I would also say that Corax saying he wants to Kill the Night Hunter is interesting considering that the Night Hunter is Konrad's Title and the image he has created for himself that is distinct from Konrad Cruze in some respects. Capturing Konrad and having him put on trial before he lets you kill him destroys the Night Hunter just the same as having Corax and Angron just gut him and then say he started the fight.

Not sure how I'm going to vote yet, but I will say, going against Malcador at Nikaea and then pivoting back to ally with him against Curze would be very properly Tzeentch-y :V

It strikes me more like a grimdark version of one of those logic problems where you have a goose, a fox, and a bag of corn, you must cross a river, you can fit only two items in your boat, you have to get all three across, and you lose if anything gets eaten.

If the goose, fox, and bag of corn were all magical space warlords who don't like each other.

- [X] Suggest tactics and allies (Vulkan) Your brother has always been the most humane, that much is obvious to anyone whose met him, given the loyalty between us and no love lost over the Eighths tactics it would be an easy thing to convince the Dragon to face the Night haunter. Upon gathering the three legions suggest a form of bait to bring the most of the Nightlords to bear in one system, then use the combined might of your legions and brothers to bring down Konrads bastard sons and haul their father before the gates of terra for judgement.

Even if Curze didn't blow up Nostramo, the "mass flaying pits" are an established fact. If anyone cared about evidence, the Imperium has had cause to execute Kurze and his entire Legion for the last century or more. I'm honestly not sure why he's alive, given that he's crossed the line from "useful war criminal" into "deranged liability" a long time ago.

This isn't some grand act of justice. Curze is a mad dog, and we're putting him down before he can bite again.

All of these are great points, but I can't shake the feeling that this whole thing is a trap laid by Chaos or someone aligned with it. If I'm wrong, great, we get to finally put an end to Curze's atrocities. But if I'm right…

-[X] Approach the Sigillite.

Okay this is just to much fun and legit way to go something novel for me to not vote for it.

Echoing @Imrix and @Lisafication that the Sigillite most likely has a contingency plan or 10 in place for Posthuman!Patrick Bateman sorry Konrad Curze loosing his last shred of control, and he's honestly a pretty good option to cover it up - give us plausible deniability. Plus after the smackdown of the Council of Nikae where Horus suddenly became a rival and Emperor's displeasure pointedly didn't exclude the Sigillite I think he'd be atleast willing to accept two Primarch's owing him in exchange for dealing with a longstanding issue now escalated to undeniably rogue element.

@MJ12 Commando made a pretty compelling case of it. Malcador is a horrible little bastard of a man who is part and parcel of the side of the Imperium Angron hates true but he's not stupid, he can see ways that he benefits from doing this and literally has a lot of infrastructure set up to make sure it gets done thoroughly, which helps our cause since it helps ensure no innocent civilians have to deal with roving bands of NightLord survivors getting there Firefly Reaver on. Which lets be real any scattered Nightlords left running around once the dust settles are absolutely inclined to do.

Alright, rolled it around in my head a bit more, I'm convinced. This should be fun.
