Star Wars: A Padawans Tale: Episode II: A New Galaxy (A CK2/Adventure Quest)

You know what we are going to argue forever and go in circles constantly lets end this now and agree to disagree

To be honest, I would not be surprised if most of the Separatists Civilian Government that we saw in that one TCW-Episode has already been purged, with only the Yes-Men firmly under the sway of Palps and his Megacorp-Goons remaining.
Well actually, not exactly.

They are a minority, that is true, but a very vocal one, but one that is constantly on the back foot, due to Papa Palp's recognition.
This is not a fucking aggressive War by the Republic to 'keep unruly Systems in line', like @Mostlyblue is trying to frame it. This is a War orchestrated by a genocidal Dictator to establish himself as the sole Ruler of the Galaxy.
Sam Huston will be how I view this subject.

Sam Houston said:
Let me tell you what is coming. After the sacrifice of countless millions of treasure and hundreds of thousands of lives you may win Southern independence, but I doubt it. The North is determined to preserve this Union. They are not a fiery, impulsive people as you are, for they live in colder climates. But when they begin to move in a given direction, they move with the steady momentum and perseverance of a mighty avalanche.
The Republic, like Lincoln before it in our world, is fighting to preserve the Republic.

And is willing to do damn near everything, because if the Republic fails, then the perogative of its mission, being the representative body of the galaxy, will be called into question, and it will most likely collapse.

As for what the Separatists... you are forgetting that Papa Palps declared himself Emperor right?

They became an autocracy.

Their parliament may still be there, and they accept it, but this war has changed scope drastically.

Papa Palps wants conquest, he wants to destroy the Republic.

This is now a war of national survival for the Republic, just as it was for the USA.
Doesn't matter what he's interested, he'd be basically going against what they wanted from the start, which was to secede from the republic. We'd be de-legitimizing him and lowering his support rate.
Eh... Here is something to note, at least about this.

Papa Palps really wants the republic dead, and to enact his own rule upon the galaxy.

He wants to rule the Galaxy as an Emperor.

And he wants to genocide the Jedi.

Let me tell you that everything is not.
Here's what currently happening, the republic is being demolished by the CIS push, Bail Organa barely survived a vote of no confidence, the citizens are tired of war. Continuing with war will take probably take down Chancellor Bail Organa.

The war is only going to end in annihilation for one side like the Father said, negotiating for peace and finding alternate ways of dealing with Palpatine rather than total war (which the republic is losing in) should be the goal.
The problem is, This entire part of the war is kinda like the 1863 Campaign by the army of Northern Virginia.

Striking hard to not only demoralize and secure peace but to also restore confidence in their cause after a year of stalemate.

The Republic, however, just need a Gettysburg to not only restore Morale but to give themselves confidence that what they are doing is right.

Basically, Bail needs a win, to not only get the Senate on his side but to also show that his way of doing things is right.
The other side is called the "Separatists", we know their goal, which is to secede from the Republic. Pretending like I'm framing it into something it's not is ignoring what it is. The republic decided that these worlds weren't allowed to have their own autonomy, and wanted to do so by force. The war is a offensive war, and it's not just.
...

Now I'm not going to go into the just war theory, or the ramifications that this war will lead to.

Not the time for it.

But here is one thing.

Sifo Dyias was not the one who put the order in for the clones.

That was Dooku using his identity. Remember, Dooku killed him before he ever returned his calls to the Jedi about Kamino.

Secondly: Both sides are at fault. in fact, I would argue that until the Separatists tried to execute Padme and Anakin, and Obi-Wan, they were in the right.

The CIS wanted to secede from the Republic due to Papa Palps corruption and the slow erosion over thousands of years of the many great republic laws.

The Republic is just moving to keep the Republic together.

Now of Course Palpatine was playing both sides to make the crisis, but the legitimate grievances were there.

However, as the Confederates did at Fort Sumter, they lost any semblance of the Moral High Ground when they started killing the Jedi.
The Jedi order is gradually becoming corrupted by the war.
All I will say is this:

The Jedi who were corrupted (Truly corrupted by the dark side and the war itself) Left to join papa palps and the crew.

The Jedi want to stop them from creating another thousand years of darkness.

Because they feel like it will be their fault if there is another sith Empire with Papa Palps at the helm.

It would make the last few thousand years of peace not worth it.
And that is EXACTLY WHY Palps would gladly try and press to continue the war. Because he almost certainly sees that. And also, there is one fundamental problem.
Papa Palps also gains power by all the suffering that is being caused in the galaxy.

The Longer this war goes on, the stronger he gets.

Because the Darkside is growing more powerful.

Anakin's effort to bring balance only lifted the veil Papa Palps kept over the Jedi.
Yeah Papa Palps ain't gonna stop until every jedi is dead.
That too.

WELP...

Looks like no matter how the vote goes, we are gonna need to get involved in some shape.
And as far as saying that Jedi are inherantly bad at war...
Well, what about The Army of the Light?
Cause I cant help but feel that taking the problems the Jedi order had, and saying that Jedi are inherently bad at war and should avoid at all costs are kind of misconstruing the reason behind the problem. Which was more or less the fact that ascetic monk philosophy doesn't prepare people to deal with real life stuff, like, say relationships.

We literally have a large portion of the order that are trying to clamor for the Army of Light.

Because they want to be independent of the Republic.

One way or another.
...Well...
"The Republic has asked for the Jedi to return as volunteers, and Generals again, to serve once more." He stated. "We will be placing it to a vote, among all the Jedi."
"We need you to ask the opposition to not see this election as a resurgence or giving into the demands of the radicals. We will be serving at the pleasure of the Republic. Not forming the Army of Light."

WAIT...
The vote on the war is gonna end up essentially being a vote to decide if the Jedi will fight within the Republic chain of command, or form their own force isn't it...

Bringing back the Army of Light...well I can't say the Padawan don't have some big ones on them. It's a grand ambitious plan if nothing else.

To put it bluntly:

Making Peace with the Empire now is equivalent to the North conceding to the South and allow them to keep Millions of People in Slavery in the American Civil War or the British making Peace with the Nazis after the Fall of France and handing them rule over most of Europe.

FUCK. THAT.

Plus, as I said: Making peace SOUNDS all nice and dandy, but it requires both sides to want it.

And Palpatine, as I laid out, DOES NOT WANT PEACE.

Where were you guys earlier, and you know i considered bringing up the us civil war but dismissed because he would say somthing of a false equivelance

In regard of the army of the light well i say we go back to gar it would take too long to militarize ourselfs with the equipment necessary not to metion gar is olso paying throu there nose for capital ships to bog roll and everything in between, i dont think we would be a prority to be supplied. In adition rejoing the republic means we can negotiate terms with them for some consetions.

Solving the Padawan issues should indeed be our first priority, but I don't think we should be neglecting our commercial duties either. Additionally, a personal action spent with Ahsoka should help keep us from burning out too badly, given all of the demands on our time and person.

You had arrived with Cin at the protest that was outside the Senate building. The building was on high alert, with the Senate Guard being very on edge with the Padawans that were gathered.

You didn't know why, only two of the padawans had lightsabers and they were in front of the entire group of one hundred Padawans. To protect them if they were in dire need. "What is the meaning of this?" The Senate Guard was very angry that more Jedi were at the Building and armed. "We were not informed that there were going to be more Jedi here!"

"We were sent by the council." You replied. "To bring these wayward padawans back to the Temple."

"We have a right to be here!" One of the padawans shouted.

"The Republic corruption is destroying the Jedi!"

You looked back to Master Cin, who was looking at several holo pads. "Who signed off on these protest papers?" He asked. "This gathering would have required the signature of a master of the Order."

"It was Master Plo Koon." You said, looking down at the signature. "And Master Skywalker?"

That made Cin frown, as he scoffed. "Skywalker I can see, but Master Plo Koon? I never imagined that."

"Maybe there is more than meets the eye?" You asked. "This is a sign of protest, not only against the Republic but from the Jedi itself."

"About what? Republic corruption? Wartime statuses?" He asked.

You then realized why Anakin would sign off on this. "I think he wanted Padme to see this?"

"Why?" Cin asked.

"I think he wants to show his support to the younger generation, the support he never received from his peers, or his elders, besides Obi Wan." You replied. "And he wants Padme to know that there is change coming."

"Oh by the Force, don't tell he wants to lead a revolution?" Cin asked.

"Better, he wants to change the code. As for Why Master Plo Koon would sign off on it? You know Master Plo Koon is far more willing to bend his methods as long as they are morally right."

"And he thinks that protesting the Republic is Morally right?"

You smiled. "Yes. Protesting a government that does not meet the interests of its people is always morally right."

Reward: You know why the Padawans are protesting. They are protesting the Republics' horrible policies and corruption that are leading to death and lack of action, not only for them, but all of the Republics' citizens.

There is also the aspect of Anakin and Master Plo Koon signing off on the Protest paperwork that needed a master's signature. Signaling that they wish for change and that the Padawans are supported.

It all came down to the simple fact that Palpatine and the Senate were giving orders to the Jedi, not the council.

There was so much that they feared in the future, and if a Sith could control their movements, and get them killed, what point was it to take those orders. At least the Jedi would look out for their own.

That was their argument at least.

Not very strong ones, but you understood them.

Reward: You learn the Reasons why the Army of Light is to be formed.

The Republic will not look out for their well-being. The Jedi, at least in their minds, will.

Commander… Sorry Admiral Tarkin was standing at attention, as you did the same. "Admiral Tarkin."

"Commander Null." He replied. "Do you have the answer from the Jedi Order?"

"Unfortunately, until the votes are tallied, that will not be the case, but in the case of myself, and Master Kenobi, we would wish to return to active duty, in the 212th, if possible."

Tarkin nodded. "That will be acceptable."

"And Admiral Tarkin, a question?" Tarkin nodded again. "Supreme Commander Yularin. Does he believe that he needs the Jedi to win this war?"

Tarkin did not answer. "The Commander's personal opinions on the Jedi leadership is not known to me." He was blunt and to the point.

"And what of you? Do you have an opinion?" You asked.

"Only that if the Jedi return, they must dedicate themselves fully to this war. Or we will all be doomed. The force is a tool that we cannot be lacking. Not with the many fallen Jedi that left your ranks."

You nodded. "Dismissed." He ordered.

Reward: You are back to the 212th with Master Kenobi in tow.

The Separatist's invasion stalled out. A Lack of Fuel. Their attempts to raid your company's refineries and depots were beaten back.

First by private security forces, and later through Republic counterattacks.

There would be no Sepretists spear that would be broken on the Mid rim. Not any time.

Reward: The Separatist's invasion has slightly stalled due to a lack of fuel.

We are the Diplomat's successor in all but name at this point. The accountant now also accounts actions and words as his tally.
Its the Negotiator my friend. The Negotiator.
As Palpatine is gonna get reminded yet again. Anakin is scary on the tactical level. Null? He is scary in a STRATEGIC LEVEL!:D
Indeed.

Imagine the Bounty on Larons head.

Oh wait, next rumor mill. you won't need to.

The Republic will not look out for their well-being. The Jedi, at least in their minds, will.
This isn't wrong at all. The Republic at this point is horrendously corrupt. Literal slaves are in the capital of the Republic where slavery is illegal. Corporations have votes in the republic. The Republic historically have had the Jedi come in to clean up their messes and have thrown said Jedi to the side when there was no use for them. In blunt honestly the Army of Light may have nearly destroyed the Jedi but it was also the period where they had the most autonomy within the Republic

On the other hand, it was the jedi that threw the order into the war in positions they were ill suited for. And in canon, sent many to their deaths in the first battle due to their preconceptions. So, it is generally true. But at the same time, the Jedi Council had their own problems.
