Gods of Chaos: a Riot God Quest

no just keep the original vote, please. I will add reptile the next turn so it would have been perfect.

I mean we are literal gods so it wouldn't even be an issue. or if you want to it in style maybe a spanking would be better
eh, because the act they wrote meant something like "everything that could be a problem on its way to them will be moved/etc so it can come directly to them.. besides that he will be invincible by anything that is equal to or stronger than him

and since the other guy said it's considered a counter-vote kill him

------------------------------------------[X] The Mirror Springs Finaali Vaihe (Cosmic-Act)----------------------------------
-The effects of the Seen Spring spread further, with plants growing and recovering faster the closer they are to the spring.
-The black void around the Unseen Springs has spread out to a much wider area, the darkness blocking all forms of detection, both inside and out.
-Both springs are now much deeper than before.
--At the bottom of both springs is the entrance to the Precipice.
---The Precipice is the dimension between the Seen and Unseen, an empty realm of calm waters where the laws of reality are both firm yet ever-changing and time moving at erratic speeds.
-----Within the Precipice, a day inside can be an hour or a week outside (yet not much more extreme than that).
---People who enter can only exit through their entrance. So if you enter through the Seen spring, you must exit through the Seen spring and vice versa.
-----It's possible to enter the Precipice without the springs but it's much more difficult than simply entering the Seen or Unseen.
-When a person is inside the Precipice their body and name will be hidden, even from themselves.
--All effects below only take effect while in the precipice
--People who have spent time in the Seen spring will be whiter.
--People who have spent time in the Unseen spring will be blacker.
--People who have spent an equal amount of time in both will be silver.
--People who have spent no time in either will be gold.

I deeply dislike everything they are giving to the orc

so
@Photomajig an act to kill him at that, what level would it have to be?
I mean it's a lesser act and while my act [] Whispers of Murder does try and kill the ogre initially. It actually looks like it complements the act in providing the ogre a way to kill the two. Though be warned it does try to make a cult of murder after killing that ogre.

Part of the reason I want to work on Ithzunchult is because he's been dealt a great injustice by being turned into a moon against he's will. Same goes for the gods that were turned into the mantles. I don't really want to mess with the free gods since they're "Fine" at the moment. Stripping Nehu of her Outslayer powers on the other hand… Is an excellent idea! I can't believe I didn't think of that before, thanks for the wonderful idea Babo.
I feel like I should note that being reborn as the spirit of the moon was already intended to be a 'we probably should not have done that to him' act after someone else got him pointlessly killed by summoning him into a place where Ithzunchult couldn't hide from his natural predator. Who then murdered him hard without the act that tried to use him actually working because he got murdered in the middle of it.

So I felt sorry for him and wanted to give him a rebirth into a new, less 'murdered' status where he didn't have to spend all of existence hiding.

[X] Create the Orb of Fallen Gods (Lesser Act)
-Collect the minds of the Outer Gods so uselessly used up to create the Mantle of the Breaker and craft an indestructible orb of white gold, jade, and amythest and transplant the collected minds within said orb where they can spend their time in what is normally peaceful and delightful (for an Outer God) dreams. However, if held by a mortal who meditates on the orb the mortal may spiritually voyage within the orb to glean secrets and hidden knowledge from the dreams of the orb's inhabitants, for the dreams draw from the entirety of creation and so just about anything could be found within them. The cost of this is, of course, the need to traverse through what the Outer Gods consider peaceful and pleasant dreams that draw from the entirety of creation. Ever wanted to learn what it is to be eaten by a Yama? The dreams can teach you that and many other such secrets the user would probably prefer to never learn. The Orb is to be deposited somewhere on the second world, where any who look upon it know its name and its powers.

Since I didn't get an estimate, I'm just going to assume this is a lesser act.

While I don't have any problems with the concept of this Act in general, the previously established precedent is that changing something which took a Cosmic Act to make requires a Cosmic Act to do, which is why the Mantle of the Breaker itself was a Cosmic Act in the first place, because it was using the Outer Gods which were themselves created by a Cosmic Act.

What you're trying to do would not only invalidate the spirit of what the Mantle was made to do, but also it would break it on an actual functioning level, since it's literally made out of the Outer Gods. I feel kind of insulted that you would try to overturn a Cosmic act that it took me two voting periods to get to passed, before it ever had a chance to appear, with a single Lesser Act. Please, if you want to destroy or change the Mantle, just make an act to do that and make it Cosmic.

I'll probably be changing some votes around since a few things I'm supporting have more than enough votes.

[x] May some among the Custodians hear a Whisper: That the continued existence of the Outer Gods is the Will of the Makers. That it is their secret mission to oppose and prevent any further culling of their number. That they are to be known as the Order of the Darkened Flame. (Demi-Act)

The job's been done - the Outer Gods are no threat to Creation any more, it would be a shame for the maimed dozen that remain to be brought to extinction. And of course, it creates drama in Heaven to prevent the Custodians being a too overmighty force, and also everyone loves Fallen Angels.

I updated descriptions in my act. Vote for it please.

Also I have just read this
Things will develop on their own, but you are never going to automate the process of Creation. It needs to take place as haphazardly and chaotically as it will!
about Custodians. Now I am worried about Fleshwarpers functioning like creators of monsters.

Found this quest recently and decided to author up an act for it. Hope you guys like it.

[] Write the Book of Horrors, telling of all of the horrors of the world. [Lesser Act]

Somewhere, in the void, a maker looks upon all that has occurred. The wonders and joys, the creatures big and small.

And they look at the horrors.

Some were mere results of circumstance and misfortune. Such as the Goliath Bird, or the terrible warped Deep Algal 'Abominations' resulting from improper shaping. Some might even see Ardent Algals as to be feared. There was the somewhat unexpected ruthlessness of the White Ants, and their Queens.

But then there were the ones that they themselves had wrought.

The Outer Gods. Weakened they may be now, they still could pose quite a threat if the Void-Huntress were not constantly seeking them out.

The Tyrant of Gold. That consuming territorial monster. Although thankfully for the mortals of the world, it stuck to its mountain throne.

The Orgres. Hidden in plain sight, just until they begin their cannibalistic feast.

The Yamas. To fall to them is to be denied the spirit's rest in the Unseen.

There were others, too. More subtle ones that had yet to truly appear.

The Volcanic Turtle Vixith, sooner or later it would blow, and burn the land asunder.

The Winged Lizard of Potential. Someday it would begin a terrible feast, would it not?

There was the plans and acts of the other makers, wishing to bring new horrors to accompany the rest. They would likely succeed in such.

Well. If it is to be an age of horrors, so be it. But they would be known.

And so the maker began to write.

This is just information, right? A Demi-Act would be enough.

[ ] Create the Tyrant's Legion (Lesser Act): With a tremor of the earth, great forms rise to stand above the surface, indistinct in form for only an instant before assuming one that can be recognized, though standing head and shoulders above any living specimen. Clay is their flesh, and bronze is their skin. The nearby trees shape themselves into impossibly sharp weaponry, oozing with agonizing toxins, and as one they begin their march. The Tyrant's Legion is created to be a tool of the infamous alone; their only purpose is to find the single most feared being upon Creation, and serve them unquestioningly, taking up the shape of each new master's species. Yet, the Legion is terribly capricious in its obedience; their previous master need not have died for them to take a new shape and march to the service of a different menace, only to no longer be the most feared upon the world. Their metal skins do not rust, their wooden armaments do not rot. Their flesh of clay joins together and reshapes itself to mend any damage. Yet, they have no aid to their march, save an instinctive knowledge of where their newest overlord can be found, and until commanded by them will march heedless of the world around them, crossing the oceans by walking along the seabed.

Would this qualify for the Act bonus, @Photomajig?

It's a bit borderline, but I think I'll deem it fitting enough for the bonus. It'd certainly scare me to know such a thing existed!

What act tier would this get?

From the sound of it - many powerful armies - definitely Grand Act.

[] With a Heart
The World-Sea may with a price of blood and their direct attention, strengthen their currents temporarily, fracture themselves unto new bodies of water, or lastly, to unite themselves for a time. They are limited by effect, time, and blood, with greater feats being matched with a price of time not being able to do such a feat and the price much higher than smaller acts.

Is this Demi or Lesser in power though? Edit: Hopefully enough of a limitation and scope.

Lesser seems appropriate.

@Photomajig
Would creating a being able to know what the Historian is recording be a lesser or a demi-act?

If that's their only power, you can probably get away with a Demi.

@Photomajig does this qualify for the epoch bonus? It's intent is destructive and horrible in nature but the horror is not exactly guaranteed.

Hmm. I'm inclined to say no, as horror is not its primary intent or effect. I okayed the Tyrant's Legion Act because I felt like knowing of their existence would be a cause of fear for the peoples of the world, whereas this is something secretive and one-time thar they won't necessarily even learn of. The Act doesn't in itself cause fear. I do like the Act and hope it passes.

I think we've already got an equivalent to that, which is what the mountain Myridna use to arm their elites. Can't remember the name, holystone maybe?

Holystone is in very limited supply carefully hoarded by the royal family. It was only created as one deposit and is not naturally occurring.

@Photomajig could I have a difficulty estimate for this? And would it count for the Era bonus?

Sounds Lesser, but I'm not sure you can just pluck those minds out of the Mantle with just a Lesser Act, since they are pretty core parts of it as I understand. Maybe it should be open to the dreams of all the Outer Gods wherever they are, instead?

This could get the theme bonus, though it is a bit passive for it since you have to make the choice of using it and withstanding the dreams. Maybe it could give nightmarish glimpses of its visions into the dreams of those in nearby areas or something?

@Photomajig

What level act is this?

Released upon the first world is the Great Mutagen, a disease both spiritual and physical. Built upon the principles of the Law of Evolution it actively mutates the organisms infected with it with changes commensurate with thousands of generations of gradual evolution often in a way that is often monstrous in nature. It stimulates the production of vigor to obscene amounts in subjects infected, making them ever greater physical powerhouses.

Yet the downside it holds in animalistic frenzy. Those infected by the disease become monsters in truth, driven to lash out and act on their instincts, regardless of intelligence, during the course of the mutagen's work. Their bodies exude the mutagen to infect all other local life forms.

What makes it worse is that it resists any and all magics rooted in the law of Evolution to change it. Shaping will not curb or stop the mutagen's work.

The only saving grace is the mutagen only remains active for a few weeks before it devours itself within the host taking with it the frenzy state that it induced and the infectivity, but leaving behind a hyper evolved monster.

----

A super plague that creates crazed monsters fits for the Age of Horror.

I love it. This is kinda on the border of Lesser and Grand. The potential to create tons of crazy new monsters pushes it over to Grand, I think.

There are also very few animals on the Second Planet. Dragons and krokorekians have only fish to hunt/domesticate.

The Cultivars are gradually seeding the Planet with more complex life (and there is natural exchange sometimes through the Cosmic Paths). Birds are starting to appear now, for example. That doesn't mean you shouldn't create life, just a clarification!

[] Strip Nehu of The Might of the OutSlayer (Lesser Act)

Since this essentially undoes a Grand Act, it would be a Grand Act too.

Dive too deep into the ocean and you end up in a new dimension with no way out, slowly being driven insane or something.... huh. Might have to do something with that. We could go full on twlight zone on it!

This evoked some kind of primordial fear from me, so you should definitely do it.

Authored Act:
[X] Create the Hound artifact (Demi-Act)

Your last Demi-Act should already been ruled a Lesser Act but I didn't do so in time. You might have noticed I toned down its powers a bit. This is definitely a Lesser Act too. Things like total invulnerability to magic on its own are generally beyond Demis, and this is packing a lot of powers.

Authored acts:
[X] Create the Fleshwarpers (Grand act/Lesser act?)

Love it. The Cultivars were a Grand Act, so a race of equal numbers and power should require a Grand Act too.

@Photomajig, should it be a Grand Act instead of a Lesser one, even though I'm not creating a ton at once?

I think this is fine as Lesser. They have the potential of becoming a more numerous race, but only with time and good luck, so Lesser is enough.

I deeply dislike everything they are giving to the orc

so
@Photomajig an act to kill him at that, what level would it have to be?
but would it be considered countering?

to this
[] whisper to asker and embla everything that the evil makers have given to the orc... with the remaining power empower them as much as possible

Whispering to/empowering Askr and Embla is not a direct counter and would pass normally. Smiting it with lightning would be opposed by the Act that makes it immune to harm from beings as strong as it or stronger, so you'd need to get more Votes than it.

@Photomajig I never got an answer to my question; does the Tyrant's Legion qualify for the Epoch's bonus?

Maybe try a little patience. I can't be here to answer questions 24/7. Your answer is above.

I know Finnish is a tough language, but it's not so scary that you need to switch to it for the Age of Horror!

Oh, so all those debuffs that I put in my artifacts do not compensate for this? When creating the artifacts, I deliberately made them as unpleasant as possible for the user, in order to compensate for any benefits granted and pass as a Demi-Act, but in the end it was pointless? Wow, just... I don't even know what to say. In any case, if I remove the part about mutations and complete immunity to magic, will I be able to keep everything else or will I need to remove something else?

I think you should take a step back, reconsider your tone and look at what you've actually written.

We've got:
-Big strong physical form
-Unholy runes that drive you mad with one look
-Deadly poisonous smoke
-Paralyzing venom
-Deadly claws, painful death from sting
-Eyes see through any disguise
-Invulnerable to magic
-Can find its foe anywhere when it has smelled them
-Instant death if you try to claim it without Dirge and Mask
-Powerful mutations

Drawbacks:
-Losing their humanity (but supernatural charisma and loyalty of the Hound)
-No afterlife

There are not limitations or flaws. They suck from the perspective of the user... kinda... but they appear to only make it more powerful in the end. Acts are generally scaled on how much they affect the world, not how unpleasant they are for the user. In this case, anyone who wields the Hound is likely already a bloodthirsty berzerker, so I'm not sure how much they'd even mind it.

[X] Gift a Deep Algal Shaper with Genius and Madness. Whatever they create next will be wildly successful.. in fact, far too successful. (Demi-Act)

Basically I want to proc a Major Shaping disaster via the 'succeeded too hard' clause. You guys have been keeping things under control too well.

First of all, I'm sorry if I offended you, I really didn't mean to. Secondly, I removed many of the benefits you listed, check my act again please. Hope it's enough to stay Demi-Act

You didn't need to remove the loss of reincarnation and personality changes, but sure, that's more of a Demi. You could just gather votes for it as a Lesser Act with the original description, though - that version would get the epoch bonus as well. I think it's a cool Act.

[X] Empower the Ogre to know where Askr and Embla are, and to never be barred by any wall nor gap. As she walks towards them, walls and mountains alike will crumble to give her a tunnel, and vigorized Floatwood shall appear under her feet as she goes across rivers, oceans, and empty air. Beings as strong or stronger than her shall be unable to harm her - only through the cunning or teamwork of weaker beings shall she be stopped. (Lesser Act)

Alright, I made a tiny addition to the description of my vote, to add a little bit of flavor.

I'm also surprised with how much closer things are this time around. Really nerve wracking.

What level of act would be making a naturally occurring but magical/powerful material be? Would that be effect by potential need for it to be refined?
Probably a lesser act.
Lesser Act: Creating an object of great power or an empowered material or resource; a ring with the power to subjugate others to its will, a metal stronger and lighter than steel, a legendary spear that cannot be evaded, a medallion that allows instant travel around the world, a gas that steals away free will, a type of wood that becomes lighter than air when treated, et cetera.

For a supply of just one fantastic material, probably just a Lesser Act. If you wanted to do multiple, or establish secondary processes by which the supply of the material constantly renews, or scatter it across multiple planets, or multiple of those, probably a Grand Act.

Since this essentially undoes a Grand Act, it would be a Grand Act too.
Hmm I thought it would only take a lesser act since The Might had a built in feature to leave it's wielder, just go into it and make it think Nehu's at peace so it would leave her. But if you say so I'll change it, makes it pretty unlikely it'll pass now unfortunately.

Also I should probably get to adding in a bunch of the new votes, maybe comment on them to if I find the time.

@Photomajig , Just making sure since you didnt comment on it, My Act is Good as lesser right(it's the Temple of Need)? Since it can only give out knowledge and skills, But cannot do more (change stats and stuff). Or do i need to bump it to grand?

Honestly a more organic way would just be to tell her she doesn't need to keep fighting. We appreciate her sacrifice, she doesn't have to devote her life to it. Maybe offer to transform her into a custodian? She comes from a social species right. A large part of her problem is her alienation from her people, I'm sure she's made friends with some custodians. She's worked with them for multiple era's it would be incredibly sad if she hadn't.
