[X] See if Axton or Lancel want to talk. You had such a nice talk with Artemis: it would be nice to get to know your other traveling companions better.

[X] Explore the village. You know Artemis wanted you to stay close, but you just can't help yourself: this is all so new. Slip out and wander around; who knows what you'll find.

[X] Do a bit of reading. You won't be able to get far in a short time, but you've been itching to get into the scrolls for a while. (Choose one scroll to look at.)
-[X] Beyond your Stone: A Guide to Practical Magic

Alright... I badly wanna know our new companions, but I'm hoping learning from that book may help further conceal our wings if we find ourselves in combat.

Y'know... assuming flavor text about this Empire, perhaps where we are is for the best?

Half wonder if they were the ones who might've killed Shyrlonay, assuming he was the Fell Dragon in one of those references... Then again, I've a bad feeling that one of Ryza's parents may have been that Fell Dragon.

Wouldn't the book on getting along with your inner dragon be more likely to have info on the wing manifestation?

That could work too if it turns out that impulse on our wings is independent from casting magic. But now that you're mentioning it, I don't feel quite firm about learning practical magic. My assumption at the time was that reading the book on magic might teach us how to create Tomes that don't require the Dragon power we're drawing from.

Runewriting seems more likely for that, tbh. Manaketes are natural mages able to cast without using a tome; why would a book written by Manaketes on practical applications of magic cover a topic that they never used? Whereas, we know Tomes are roughly the same 'technology' as the Tablets, which are made to gather and amplify magic via runes. Thus, learning runewriting and studying the tablet is more likely to teach us the fundamentals needed to develop our own tomes.

Furthermore... i don't think we'll manage to completely decouple them from Dragon power, but we should be able to minimize it by just feeding our tome a tiny bit of power and letting the tome amplify it to 'normal' human mage levels for us. It'll naturally be less effort expended to cast spells, at the very least, not that we've shown much/any signs of tiring in that regard...

Just realized I never voted.
