[X] the fourth option
[X] Place a call to Olson and to Long. You will need their support to calm things down. They both clearly have a plan, if the three of you work together, the revolution can begin from a stronger position.
[X] Place a call to Schenck, Thomas, and Butler. It's only a matter of time before the reactionaries try to purge you all. You need to be ready. You need to head them off, to seize the initiative. You have plans for this...
I don't buy the 'revolution only' position. What do you think this specifically will achieve. What about the Feds makes you think that we can "calm things down" without simply surrendering to them?
" The Black Belt votes for the first time since Reconstruction, all poll taxes paid by Long from his own pocket and the literacy tests administered by his own men. The states reject the ballots, but they have still been cast."
This is the Feds. They've been murdering striking workers, preparing a coup, doing things in the navy that apparently panicked one of our spies so much that he fled screaming to try to warn us (only to be killed before he could reach us), have disenfranchised minorities, and have MacArthur as one of their most prominent figures.
They will not accept an electoral loss.

Everyone's saying the only way to avert a civil war is to surrender to the feds and therefore trying to calm things down and make alliances is useless. However there are massive military and electoral benifits to teaming up with Olson and Long. Just having the minutemen on side for the revolution is a lot more important in my opinion than making a fiery speech.
It's not really clear in-universe.It's not really obvious in the text but how many votes do we have just right now?
