Fascinating that Blood Halo, with no mitigation far as I can see, gives +5 Accursed Favor compared to the +2 for the Evening Sky option which does give mitigation.

It gives decimator mitigation, as with Blood Halo Hunger can satisfy the decimator by simply fighting wars rather then needing to seek out specific targets.

Blood Halo massively mitigates Decimator. It makes every peer-level fight count as A Hunger Sated, and peer-level fights are approximately 3-picks.

So this vote is ultimately the aesthetic conclusion of who Hunger is and will be. Interesting how the choices are arranged from singular SORD to MAGE.

[X] The Tears of Winter, the Dog of War, the Evening Sky - Imperishable Night

It seems like the future has won my vote, for now.

[X] The Forebear's Blade - Inheritance

All three options are interesting and thematically appealing, but I'm not confident Imperishable Night has the ability to bring home the win. It depends too heavily on Hunger's ability to scale without removing the Ring's training malus as Blood Halo does and invests too much in quality of life. This is just not the time for that; sometimes victory requires sacrifice, that's the lesson of the Shattering Blow.

The revelation of the opening quote is groundbreaking; if Hunger is the Forebear of Dynasties in full and no longer metaphysically affected by the Tyrant's Doom, can he annull its effects on others? Perhaps the one who Doomed the Accursed to Tyranny in the first place could eventually rescind it. Complete mitigation of a Major Curse would basically be the holy grail...

All else aside I want to see my Wish reach its culmination and get the Haeliel Ending. Mordred kneecapped her screentime by delaying her next two appearances, but I have faith in the Seraph of Heroism's ability to inject the spark of hope Hunger's epilogue so desperately needs. Whatever wins here, whether Hunger himself wins, it's been a pleasure playing with everyone.

I just want to recall the memory of Fault-Defeating Stance, which I suspect would be a notable benefactor of +Progression.

ffs.

Haeliel Ending. Imagine people getting blasted by Inheritance because they find the shipping war offensive.

Also. HahA! All roads will eventually lead us back to who we are.

When does being a Cursebearer end? Cause even if Inheritance Hunger dies doesn't that just put him in stasis until the next try?

I actually really like Crimson Halo!

But Archmage made FB into a mage option. Meanwhile, the Evening Sky option provides a staggering amount of style ISH elevation during dramatic throne room showdowns. Given 98 more years of +++Progression (or better?) id be pretty confident in getting enough mitigation to bring Nova along to the next task, which would really make me happy.

On the other hand, "Haeliel ending" is a powerful rebuttal!

Finally. The endgame of rank+sword, what could be better? Oh yeah, the endgame of 4bear. Oh and also haeliel ending. No contest.

Because what we're winning matters at least as much as that we win. Moreover, the argument (as I recall it) for going hard on a big fight with Maiden for the end was that it would give us the best shot of Hunger triumphing in the long run even if it was riskier right now. Well, that's what this option is. It might be riskier now, but a bonus to Progression, highly effective stalling tactics, and a free half-stage of mitigation to Apo-chan are some excellent aids to long-term victory even in the context of the other mega-powerful options.
