Thomas seems neat, but being rich, bad with money, and a stranger in a strange land is a bad combination. Doubly so when you're also a con artist.

Ronald would also be interesting to play, but I'm concerned about the possible consequences of picking a character that brings along that much investment in real world faiths. Regular quest salt is bad enough without risking adding centuries old irl sore spots into the mix.

don't really like the anti magic of the Roman's or the snake oil salesmen. A crisis of faith sounds interesting though

I wonder bow deep magical traditions in general are in this low magic version of Earth and its history since it doesn't seem like a total stranger to it.

DP has said magic is rare, but I'm hoping for a least a few neat low magic items for both utility and flavor to distinguish this from a non-magical world.

There's all kinds of fun stuff that becomes totally irrelevant past level 6-8 that could spice up encounters in an environment like this.

I wonder what year story takes place since sounds like medieval age at least if we consider what era all thee characters could be in at the same time.

Curious how historical events could be changed due to our actions/magic use in general.

Sound like regardless of chracter choice the setting is going to be the same.
Into this world strangers step unknowing
All the characters are from distinctly different times. So idk how much history and this new setting will mix. Or if it's something that will be completely separate and only our characters are being taken and not part of irl history/settings.

I also could be totally wrong lol.

Im gonna go with the legion
If the the legion option would be even more interesting if we will go on a epic quest to build up an army and try to get vengeance against the empire. Then im all for it.

@DragonParadox what exactly does the eclectic education involve, did we learn engineering, philosophy, economics?

Well the details will be up to character creation, but in essence it involves being a skill monkey. All characters will be limited by what is reasonable for them to have learned in their life. for Thomas that field is very wide indeed. Like you could not take spellcraft or arcana or something, but other than that you would have a very free hand.

As said earlier would love to play the skill monkey since those are very fun, and being a rogue in general would be interesting play since it means we need to play smarter most of the time to get out of jams.

So after some thought and looking over the P6 document again I have decided that all your PCs start at level 2. This is for two reasons:
  1. Reasonably speaking none of them are fresh journeymen, or squires or new recruits
  2. Level 2 makes for more of a HP buffer so you guys cannot be killed by a stiff breeze, or a house cat with some lucky rolls

Altough I am dissapoint that this is a low magic setting. The most hillarious moments of ASWAH is when main characters begin to teleport / revive the dead / do other things that are utterly hilarious from local's view.

I think that's also kinda where the problems began ala ASWAH - at least that was kinda writing-on-the-wall around the time I left. The quest's level of power was rapidly outgrowing the capability of the world to contain. E6 just has this wonderful sweet spot for keeping heroic fantasy in that bracket without breaking things.

Ahem.

So, uh...hi folks. Pretty sure a bunch of you weren't here when I left the community, but I'm interested to see where this piece goes and I hope you'll have me back now that we're moving onto something new and I no longer have to breach the promise I made. Probably won't be as active as I was before - life is life, after all - but I'm curious about where this new journey could go and would definitely like to take part. Now then, let's see what we have here for opti-
