Deedeequest or The Wonders of Mundus: Be Careful Who You Pretend To Be - A Genderous Isekai Quest

How Dice Rolls Work
Character sheet is here.

Dice rolls are 1d10 + Stat + Proficiency + any applicable bonuses, such as Boons.

You may spend 3 Tension to Overdrive for a retroactive +5 to your roll (a Determination Overdrive), or +3 to an ally's roll (a Teamwork Overdrive). I will also automatically overdrive to avoid exhaustion or unconsciousness.

It is possible to critically succeed (on +5 on skill checks and +10 on combat rolls) or critically fail (by the same margins), but rolling a 1 or a 10 does not automatically crit in either case. It is possible to crit retroactively by Overdriving.

Your stat bonuses have names:
  • Vigor grants a Strength bonus.
  • Agility grants a Dexterity bonus.
  • Spirit grants an Aura bonus.
  • Mind grants an Intuition bonus.
  • Resolve grants a Guts bonus.
Dice are rolled on a first come, first serve bonus. You only roll for Deedee.

Two reasons: 1) anyone being described as a "tactical thermonuclear potato" is someone good to have handy in a scrap.

2) Mage is Friend, and if we're SAOing this, mage will also likely need protection from being Geeked, because rule 1 is always Geek The Mage

I'm deeply disturbed by the use of SAO as a verb here since I use that show as the gold standard of "you've never played an MMO ever, have you" and am curious what you mean by it here.

You're not wrong about his needing help before he is Geeked, however. Pixies are called "winged potatoes" in this
as a reference to FF14 Lalafell because they are short, slow, and according to monsters, delicious.

Not a fan of the show either, to be honest, (though the GunGale Online spinoff was at least amusing) but it did start the trend of "and now you're trapped inside a VRMMO and there may or may not be a death-game afoot" isekai shows. It was a long shift and my brain wouldn't spit out the names of any other such shows without notice.

I can think of older, but you're not wrong that it made the modern take on the genre with it's litrpg trappings popular, for better or worse.

(It also has the... distinction... of the Abridged Series having better character arcs and story structure than the anime. I'm serious; please watch SAO Abridged.)

That said, .hack//SIGN, Log Horizon and personal experience with FF14, Guild Wars and MapleStory are a much bigger influence on this tale.

Still early, still close.

Though I would like to hear folks' reasoning here (those of you who don't already know these characters).

Quartermasters are usually good at haggling, dealing with bureaucracy and making connections.

I will not post speculation because, sadly, I am familiar with the story. all of these people are great but yeah Hikaru is probably in the most danger here, all things being equal.

Sekhmet is cool as fuck, okay.

Looks like everyone gained a vote - meaning that Paladin Alesha is down two votes and Rogue Sekhmet is down one compared to the current leader, Hikaru, the Wizard.

Vote closes about this time tomorrow (ETA: no, I did program it correctly, at 2:00 PM Pacific tomorrow.)

Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to exposit on in the meantime; I can't promise I can answer this early but I'm open to questions.

I figured that since you were going to see them soon anyway, there was no point in holding back pictures of your fellows in DC/AC. Maybe it'll inspire more votes, or changed votes!

Voting closes in a little over 5 hours. I mostly wanted to say that but might as well add Content so this isn't just a bump.

I appreciate that as soon as I put up a picture of her, Alesha immediately picked up 2 votes (putting her in the lead).

I also just statted out all of the characters (again; I had them at higher levels, not at first, in my old personal notes). I'll be ready to work on the update just as soon as the vote expires.

no you created an account specifically to vote paladin

(I'd love to claim that it's because healer/tank is the perfect double-act, and it kind of is, but mostly it's because paladin.)

Alesha the Paladin is currently winning by 2 votes, while Sekhmet is losing by 4.

I will probably have Deedee collect the party in vote order, unless anyone objects.

One hour left.
