Monster (A Star Wars Imperial Navy Defector Quest)

I think another reason the Prequels are looked back on more fondly and the Sequels probably won't be is that the Prequels, while bad, are bad in spectacular and interesting ways. The Sequels on the other have all their badness in the details but overall are still cinematic and competently-made films (you know, from a technical perspective).

In other words, when they're bad, they're bad in a boring way. The unfettered creative hubris of the Prequels is preferable to the bland corporate product of the Sequels.

The DisCan EU is a lost cause at this point. It was already breaking at the seams trying to justify the TFA situation, but now that it also has to justiy TRoS' bootleg Dark Empire scenario, it's doomed to tie itself in knots.

So now there is a Regent: Sate Pestage!

Which made sense because Sate Pestage was Grand Vizier, the chief bureaucrat who ran the Empire's day to day for the Emperor.

On the other hand, who THE FUCK is Sate Pestage? Some faceless bureaucrat that barely anyone's ever heard of.

Thankfully the Imperial Ruling Council is stepping in to help take up the slack. Which is fine because the IRC are -were- the innermost council of advisors to the Emperor…
This is more Mas Amedda erasure and I won't stand for it.

EDIT: Like I'm trying to track down where the fuck Akiva is, and it's "one of five worlds closest to Raydonia, the others being Mustafar, Geonosis, Dermos, and Tatooine.

Which is vaugly like saying "City City is close to New York, Washington DC, Berlin, and Tokyo"
Darth Flan'darz: You can see the five worlds that border Akiva; Raydona, Mustafar, Geonosis, Dermos and Tatoonine.

This makes it easiest for us to defect. We're loyal to the Navy, the ol' dependable navy, not to a particular regime. A beacon of stability and trust in these trying times.

Also enforcing the emperor's principles while playing space cop sounds like we will do more harm than good, at least from a PR perspective.

[X] -Unity and Order.

This is probably the most fun option which will cause the most character growth. Vaere wants to be loyal to the Empire and Imperial Centre, but she actually has an enemy there who will frustrate her efforts and eventually move the Coruscanti elites against her. That is in addition to the usual corruption and inefficiency of the Centre, which will already stick in her craw and make her life difficult. What happens when her desire for Unity and Order breaks with the unity of her beloved Navy, when she is betrayed by the hierarchy who she desperately believes can keep her greatest fear, Chaos in the Galaxy, in check?

I am rather convinced that this option will allow for the cleanest break from the Empire in the long run.

Mas Amedda has spent the last four years as Palpatine's personal gofer for Sith artifacts, and is current chilling on Byss doing Byss things. As far as the galaxy knows he became irrelevant after the Senate was disbanded and has retired or something

Clearly, the chain of command is currently a dumpster fire, even with the most generous metrics possible. What we must do is to secure the sector and consolidate our control here.
