The Three-Headed Dragon: A Viserys Targaryen Quest Continuation [abandoned]

[X]Plan Lets get the Economy started
-[X] You hope for someone with links of yellow gold, skilled with maths and economics
-[X] Sandor Clegane, once the sworn sword of Prince Joffrey...
--[X] will be allowed to remain in the city
- [X] Gyles Rosby, the former Master of Coin...
--[X] will stand trial for his role in the Dragon's Screams
-[X] Paxter Redwyne, the former Master of Ships...
--[X] will stand trial for his role in the Dragon's Screams
-[X] Destroy it. It is a conqueror's throne, and you are a liberator. You'll figure out something else to take its place, but this must go.

[X]Plan But I like the Doom Chair
-[X] You hope for someone with links of Valyrian steel, for the higher mysteries
-[X] Sandor Clegane, once the sworn sword of Prince Joffrey...

--[X] will stand trial for his role in the Dragon's Screams
-[X] Paxter Redwyne, the former Master of Ships...
--[X] will stand trial for his role in the Dragon's Screams
- [X] Wait on it. It isn't going anywhere, and neither are you. You can decide what you want to do with it when you have a better idea of the king you are and will need to be.

It clearly likes us!

...But let's get an expert just in case it doesn't like being melted down for parts. Magic is, IIRC, the only thing we don't have an 'expert' on hand for anyways.

[X]Plan But I like the Doom Chair

Not sure what the Dragon's Screams refers to. Definately do not want to destroy the Iron Throne, it's a symbol and so useful for our purposes. I also want the Valyrian steel link Grand Maester, since we are going to have to deal with the Others now.

Would kind of like to give Sandor the Black as I think he might actually do well at the Wall, but whatever.

Where? I looked again, but couldn't find anything except one vague reference to the "monstrosity" of it.

Well, the principle of the Grand Maester is that he should be able to advise the king on all matters of the Citadel's study to some extent. In practice, that's not all that feasible (maybe one in a hundred maesters has even a single link of Valyrian steel) or practical (how much does astronomy or astrology really impact your ability to rule?) but unless you do something to really piss off the archmaesters, you can feel fairly safe that you won't receive someone who's incompetent or useless in a given field ... with, again, perhaps the exception of the 'higher mysteries', and there it wouldn't be necessarily incompetence so much as scepticism and dismissiveness. You can rest assured, anyone you're sent will have at least a couple of links in medicine, ravenry, history and economics. If you request a specialist, though, you've got pretty good odds of getting one, considering, y'know. Conquering hero and all that.

Which is why I think it particularly important that we get a Grand Maester who isn't a skeptic of the higher mysteries and actually knows something about them.

Look, we've been to the Doom of Valyria, we know that there is something to this magic stuff, so it's perfectly in character for us to want a Grand Maester who can handle that.

Here are the Quotes:

If your wondering, it was Roberts's attempts at genociding the Valyrians that survived the Doom on the continent. So basically, it's everyone in the Crownlands and Dragonstone, the Westrosi Valyrians who had taken up residence in Westeros post doom.

Yeah, after Viserys, Dany and Aegon hatched their Dragons and revealed themselves to the World, Bobby snapped badly. He was already in a bad Place and had become more and more ruthless as time went on. But that Part pushed him over the Edge.

A tie!

I suppose in retrospect I shouldn't be surprised that people want to keep the Hound around, or that they actually want a trial for the former Small Council members instead of going straight to sentencing.

That certainly will set an interesting precedent with what to do when/if you ever lay hands on Lord Baelish.

Guys, seriously, that stupid Iron Monstrosity has never brought anyone anything good and may very well be cursed! Let's get rid of it NOW before it does who knows what to us.

Being only half serious, I kind of want to see our Kingsguard filled with bluntly honest jerkasses that only the Targaryens can stand for extended periods because the snarky bastards keep them on an even keel. A Memento Mori kinda thing.

If it's so badly cursed just it existing can ruin us then I don't think it's unbelievable for it to have some kind of defense/payback effect.

Hence why I'm more pushing for VS-link Maester and just metaphorically sitting(I see what you Damn well did, QM) on it. Have a relative expert give us the word on whether it's safe to keep it or whether it's too dangerous to destroy outright.

To add to my Maester push though, they could after proving themselves with the throne, work to neutralize the curse on Harrenhal so we can hand it out to a supporter safely. We'll need to wait for Lady Whent to die, of course, though she may be grateful enough at the curse breaking to abdicate for a mansion maybe. Or maybe even check Summerhall for Aegon or Dany.

One major thing that a good Maester roll could get us is someone good enough to potentially nullify all that wildfire that, IIRC, is still under the city.

I think Jaime is the one who will know where some of that is. Only based on the fact he killed the head alchemist who was going to light the fuse.

...yyyes, that was entirely planned and intentional. Good eye on you.

There are ... designs and possibilities when it comes to Harrenhal and Summerhall. I'm not entirely certain what they all are yet, but there's thoughts. For instance, the temptation is strong to design a haunted mansion type sidequest for one of those, even though I've been on SV long enough to know there's roughly 50-50 odds it turns into either Resident Evil or Scooby-Doo.
Whether that makes the temptation stronger, I could not say.

In this analogy, who in our Crew would always suggest to 'Split up and look for Clues'?

Also, Jaime woud be Shaggy. No question. He's the one of us coming closest to his awesome Power.

Well, Viserys is always the man with the madcap plan.

But I think Jaime's been snatched one time too many by maniacal landowning creepy-faced men to be anyone other than Daphne
I now have the hilarious Image in my Mind of our Crew unmasking a Guy who turns out to be Baelish, trying his latest Scheme to take over Westeros.

Littlefinger: "And I would've gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for you meddling Targaryens!!"
