While I don't want Tower to win I feel the need to point out that all of the other options result in the destruction of the Tower. Cut Through has Gisena disable everything magical which should include the Tower and the methodical options explicitly state its destruction. Also it's quite possible that even if the Tower survives our initial assault it'll probably disappear once Augustine is dead. This is most likely the only chance we have to get it. I just don't think it's a good enough shiny to outweigh the associated risks.
Do you think she could gain something greater than the 4th and 5th signs?

She'd have to gain an advantage big enough to completely catch up to [Hunger's current power + mystery box + Earth Tower Boost]
Hard to imagine what that would be, but it definitely could exist, especially since the Mystery box is not guaranteed to be unambiguously positive for Hunger.

I mean, how the fuck anyone thinks that "hurr it's a trap durr" is some sort of hot take? Everyone who can fucking read understands that it's a trap and we've spent entire day discussing how it's a trap.
I've even posed a question and no one fucking responded to it. We get ~16 Arete worth of value out of Earth Tower(14, but picks are more valuable than usual). So:
a) How hard do you expect Augustine to hit us and
b) How hard would she need to hit us to make Temple-tier reward not worth
Like, specific fucking examples of what you expect her to do. Do you expect her to steal Tears of Winter for Aurelia? To steal Nullity? To fuse with Walls of Myth? To teleport Hunger two years into the future? To amp herself to Rank 10? To summon Sovereign class? What, exactly, is risk reward ratio that makes you vote or not vote for Absorb?
Can we put any fucking thought into this beyond obvious observation that trap option is, in fact, a trap?

Upgraded signs are supposed to exceed the Royal Praxis, so upgraded Bastion of Myth probably has similar effects to TKSA since it currently has the same effects as HDS and TKSA is basically a better version of HDS. It should minimise the effects of Augustine's preparation when we go to fight her as her summons aren't going to be able to be buffed by her and any of her other summons.
Except we don't actually stand alone, so other summons can just kill Adorie or whatever.
Besides, we already have 75% reduction which makes any strategy relying on numbers unfeasible to begin with. If she can win through numbers, she can then also win through other means just as easily.
Hunger is master in Accretion so he should know his shit. On top of that he's got Edeldross, Adorie's bloodline, Silver and Accursed general protection. If everything else fails, we could just let Gisena Nullify our Cloak and deal with that later.
It's somewhat more likely that Augustine will use Tower as vector of an attack that bypasses our defenses. For example, she could try to enforce oath via debt that would force Hunger to fight Shard. Even something as simple as teleporting us back to where we started would waste a ton of time since Nightmare Flight is still cooling down, to say nothing of getting thrown into future.

A) Tower of Earth will be successful at a baseline, with the worst consequences being Artefact indigestion of some sort or Augustine repeating her previous feat.
B) There exists alternate pathways to acquire Bring to Heel.
...C) Rihaku is dedicated to the point of writing out full blurbs for options that will never come to be to ensure full verisimilitude.

I'm curious about the parameterization of X, N, and Y.
- I'm certain that I can specify X,
- because this is America and the government can't tell me what to do with my vote markers. (Well, it's America here, for me, right now.)
- I'm certain that neither you nor I will be allowed specify N or Y
- If I could specify N and/or Y, I'd obviously set N=9999 and Y=3
- If you could specify N and/or Y, you'd obviously set N=3001 and Y = 1
- This makes me wonder whether the data generating process is already specified, and how you will verify its authenticity!

You can specify X - options are 1,2 and 3.
N and Y are specified by me and are such:
When X=1 : N~4k words and 1 Newspaper
When X=2: N~7k words and 2 Newspapers
When X=3: N~10k words and 3 Newspapers
Currently the only option available right now is X=1 for you (because I am lazy for 7k words)
