[X] Might

Might be useful, so this might be useful. We have plenty already, but we still haven't figured out timeclones.

[X] Might

This is a really easy choice. Adorie's wealth can finally come in useful for something, and we get full freedom in the future.

I don't want to take the risk of being bound to the Astral's whims since 1) we don't know much about it and 2) Apocryphal procs. Glimpse is nice too, but no reason to take it when we can just kill her

Plus, why not take the Might option after all the King of Winter blurbs so far?

Well, I mean, we do have Holy Shit now and hell of a lot more mental plusses then we started out as. Maybe Hunger could manage to mind whammy her? Then again I just can't believe it'd be that easy.
Hmm, I think Aobaru is not the best bait. The brat has mommy issues and probably sees other teenagers as nothing more than brats. Aobaru is a bit younger than her (I think) so he is not a good bait.

Hunger, on the other hand is a prime villainess bait. We know his Charisma make villainess go gaga (see Larissa) and also just look at him:

A bit of melancholic look, slight propaganda about his tragic backstory, few headpats and the evil brat will be begging to take her with us.

Uhh, I guess Might is useful for protecting our allies, but it really doesn't help with with what we need which is to rescue Versch; it doesn't help with the odds of that at all, explicitly. We already have enough power to crush the Lord Protector, the only thing stopping us being Versch's capture. Might really doesn't solve that issue, so I don't understand its appeal. At least Glimpse allows us to seek the plot threads related to the experiments and the Shard of the Arcanist, never mind the whole thing with Adorie's father. It does give some pretty actionable intelligence. With Might we don't lose anything all that valuable, but don't gain anything of much value either. it feels like a waste of the benefits of preparation.

haven't re-read the update since finding out the LP was 8 when they usurped the Royalists. BUT: I think the appeal is that []Might would ensure our current Royalist troops have enough power to withstand a few hours while Hunger rescues Versch.

Opening up a second theater of battle (e.g. liberating one of the Royalist lords) would provide a distraction for the LP while Hunger beelines for Versch. As it stands, I wouldn't bet 100% on the troops on our side being able to protect Aobaru, let alone push back against the LP's military

Special issue of VoyaginNews concerning the Lady Protector
I want to claim my text-to-speech Barbie doll, that sounds like a pretty fun toy. Also explains how Augustine can be the LP and Claumngor at the same time. I think giving children dolls might lead to Tyranny rather than preventing it, Voyaging News might be responsible for a horrible tragedy.

Edit: I think spoiling that might be good in case of German members? I vaguely recall something along those lines.

Your whole life has been either as a small child or cooped up in a tower away from everyone else. When exactly did you have an opportunity to be useful? During the brief span of time when your kingdom was being taken over by an eight year old?
Hey, you never know, maybe the only reason their kingdom was taken over was because Adorie was busy saving it from something else! If one prepubescent girl can capture it, why can't another provide it great service?

Anyway, while I am sad we spent an hour summoning and not pushing through to capitalize on the reveal of our strength, I think that with new information Hunger and Double Princesses have a very good negotiating position they can capitalize on. In my opinion, it's a much better choice then providing a day of our time without even veto. Hunger is almost always busy and has Apocryphal ready and waiting to take advantage of any commitments he can't delay.

[X] Glimpse
With Might you could simply Cut Through... Shelter imposes future obligations...
We could just Cut Through last update as well. It would be nice if we got at least something out of the hour we spent here.

I'm a couple hours away from having time for any effort posts, but i had two shitposts in the discord that almost felt worthwhile:

1. Getting summoned to the Astral realm for 24 hours kinda sounds awesome. We'd have the chance to learn about the creatures we're summoning, and we'd have the chance to kill some things without any complications or lasting ramifications.

2. If we get Pearlescence, it's supposed to have its own XP tracker. I wonder if the XP tracker starts at level 0 and scales up. It'd be like power-leveling a level 4 caterpie by using it in the 1st slot in a quick run through of the Elite Four. A 1-pick fight for Hunger now would be like a 4-6 pick fight for Hunger at the start of the Temple. So Pearlescence should scale up pretty quickly if it's getting 6 picks every time we kill something around our level

(Of course, it's also possible that Pearlescence is simply obsolete, done in by the Affliction of Power Bloat.)

Tally. I approve of the Arete vote, even if we're sadly not getting any free Arete here.

That's 100% true, repaying the favor for the spirit we summon would be a great sidequest. Plus, it'd be more satisfying and meaningful than "Hi mercenary, bye mercenary." I'm worried about leaving such a vulnerability for Apocryphal, though. Maybe we should summon a bodyguard before we are summoned, with the same deal? It's a neverending loop of bodyguard duties.

I mean, this sounds rad as hell. Hunger has a lot of expenses! Establishing a name for himself in the Astral realm would secure a steady stream of Astral Hula-hoops and maybe the occasional gihalavente or werthabgas.

We could make political connections and unlock some unique picks by fighting our way through the night whenever the Astral nightclub needs a bouncer.

Edit: We'll know we have really made it when Astral Jack Ruby lets us give Astral VIPs complementary Astral Bottle Service

We already have enough sidequests - I don't want to be forced to leave urgent matters in the Human Sphere (which could threaten our companions since the bulk of our power is still in us).

It's not like a Progression type CAN'T visit the Astral Realm on their own terms anyway, I feel like this leaves us too vulnerable. We can't even "quickly resolve" it and get back to to our friends in the event of an emergency - it specifies 24 hours on the dot.

24 hours was the exact amount the LP needed to pull this horseshit on us, and in the Human Sphere we'll be facing enemies like awakened Armaments and people who control them. I don't want to be forced into leaving Gisena et al alone for that amount of time, or be conveniently summoned to the Astral Realm as we are about to land the killing blow on an Apocryphal Nemesis.

Bodyguard missions and escort missions are the same shit. You have to protect a suicidal idiot who is even dumber than the royalist faction who lost to an eight year old girl.
In a bodyguard mission, we can boss around the Principal because our one job is keeping them alive. That's why we took Letrizia to the Temple of the False Moon, and why we took Letrizia to the Realm of Myth, and why we took Letrizia to the Opalescent Tower...
