@Rihaku is the Blood Price an EFB and just like the Cut Through is an upgrade, can we just buy it at any time?

Yes, you don't know.

@Rihaku , would Avenger work on Ber?

Of course!

I, for one, do not. There are just plain too many situations where a ranged attack is valuable, and where the ability to Parry Good doesn't cancel it out.

You can still throw the blade!

And with that, I'm off to sleep, because I'm already up way later then I should be if I want my sleep schedule, recently unfucked by sleep doctor visits, to stay unfucked.

Sleep tight! Unfucking your sleep schedule is wise.

Does killing our flesh and blood body count as wronging us? Because if so, this makes ghost form relevant again!

Depends on the situation. Did you attack them unprovoked? Then unlikely. Did they attack you unprovoked? Then likely.

Would Letrizia and Ginsena count as Kin for Avenger, @Rihaku? That is, are close companions sufficiently "kin" for it to proc?

Severity matters most here.

I honestly just love the themes of Treachery more than age, and it has synergy with avenger since it also crits social attacks!

Indeed, treachery is in many ways the wiser path, as Sten massively outstats you except for speed and his Soul Evocation is coming back... that said, I don't blame those who pick the uncomplicated satisfaction of Age.

[X] Forebear's Blade - Headsman
[X] Treachery

Mhm. I always preferred SORDING properly anyway.

[X] The Ring of Power - Dominion - 2 Arete
[X] The Ring of Power - Preeminence - 7 Arete
[X] The Ring of Power - Hateful Might
[X] Age

It's finally the Ring of Hunger's time to shine! We're here to save the Azure Ring after all, so let's go all in for the dramatic storytelling! Also, soul flames of hate sound sick.

Hateful might is really powerful for a one pick option, and very tailored for this fight. It makes up for the power by having stringent operating requirements, but the caliber of foe we're likely to really need it for has a larger chance of fulfilling them than the ones we kill well enough regardless.

Headsman is a foolish choice at this juncture, I'm just going to be blunt.

We use blade winds in literally every single fight we engage in. Every single one. I defy you to find one we don't. Sealing them is crippling Hunger. And it's doing it with the knowledge that the possibility (not guarantee, possibility) of undoing it is explicitly a long way off.

[ ] Feat - Knife - 2 Arete. Adds .15 Rank, .2 with Uttermost.
This is really good but I don't see what we'd take alongside it. It rules out all multi-pick options (honing because of pre-reqs) and rules out the domain+preeminence or iridescence+pearlescence combos because the total cost would be 11 arete
we can get two of fierce quickening, a domain, or exalted spirit with it... but will that really be enough?

I'm conflicted over Headsman. On one hand I don't mind it winning because while weaker than Avenger its also more broadly applicable. On the other side while we can use Edeldross to move people towards us and pick up other ranged attacks they don't benefit from the Power of Ruin.

I'm a little torn between either of these paths

[X] The Ring of Power - Dominion - 2 Arete
[X] The Ring of Power - Preeminence - 7 Arete
[X] The Ring of Power - Hateful Might

[X] Evening Sky - Opalescence
[X] Evening Sky - Iridescence
[X] Evening Sky - Pearlescence

Neither of the 3 pick options really speak to me, they're too situational. Pretty good for the current situation, yes, but I'm not sure how often they'll be useful. Headsman less so, but range is rather useful.

More broadly applicable then Avenger, the Arete goes toward the Ring so the expense is good, and Preeminence Passion is explicitly a rare drop, so picking it up here is just good sense.

Would vote for the quickening upgrade, but per Rihaku you would need to buy Hero Stance to put that on par with the other two builds he mentions, Ring, and Avenger.

When it comes down to it, Avenger takes all the risk out of the fight, but it's to specialized, it's great for this fight, but only becomes applicable to any future matter after we've suffered a severe loss, I don't like planing for failure.

Hunger feels true Passion so rarely, trust that power to bring this through.

Avenger is like a form of rage that's actually useful. If someone is attacking us and we're badly wounded then they've severely wronged us and our stats get doubled. It's pretty good.

Knife + Fierce Quickening + Echo + Hero-Defeating Stance is likely

[X] The Ring of Power - Preeminence - 7 Arete
[X] The Ring of Power - Hateful Might

Preeminence: Passion is rare enough that I loath to pass it up, and we do have an a powerful pick that gives more raw power to this option. Sten's will probably taken quite a hit with Evangeline's death and all other esoteric protections are still being disabled by Nullity.

We are still separated from our Ring, I would rather end this fight decisively through Avenger rather than accept more risk.

Well, full Quickening doesn't seem to be getting any traction, so plan
[X] The Ring of Power - Dominion - 2 Arete
[X] The Ring of Power - Preeminence - 7 Arete
[X] The Ring of Power - Hateful Might

That said...
even Preeminence + Hateful Might (since it puts that Arete towards Ruling Ring).
How good would Preeminence-War plus Fierce Quickening be?

Yah, I'm on to Mr. R's tricks. We keep spamming bladewinds and it keeps working, so he's bribing us to get rid of it. Obviously the correct response is more bladewinds. :s
