We should go with stealth because it's a novel utility, everything else other party members can provide. This is unique and as such every further improvement there is more valuable. Since Flare won we shouldn't be too far off from healing the liver ourselves anyway.

I think we're in a good enough position to save here. Even if we don't want to go for another EFB we're in a good spot to at the very least retreat if not win this encounter, and can afford to wait and see what our options are later.

If Hero DS ends up winning here though I'm going to greatly regret not supporting ADS.

[ ] Stealth - The classic. The power to go undetected opens up enormous avenues of possibility for the enterprising operative. Improves survival rate during reconaissance, extraction, combat and many other missions. Improves the effectiveness of Vershlengorge's stealth cloak, and that of stealth cloaks given by Aeira to others. Does not substantially improve the resistance of Stealth cloaks to high-density blasts of Nullity. Grants +++Element Magnitude, ++Element Control, +++Agility, ++Wits.

Bonus: None. Stealth is the default arrangement for Aeira.
The default choice and a very good one. Stealth is why we picked Aeira in the first place.
[ ] Combat - The assassin. This involves not only direct martial expertise but all aspects of the killing arts, including a poisoner's expertise and the logistical peculiarities of infiltration and murder. With this specialty, her control over the raw physical component of her Element improves to the point where it's safe and relevant for her to contribute in combat as an ambush / buffing asset. Also improves her rate of growth overall, making it feasible for Aeira to keep up with Hunger if properly supported and invested in. Grants effective +Progression (Combat), +++Element Control, +++Agility, ++Might.

Bonus: Antitoxin - Aeira's comprehensive understanding of Voyaging Realm-native plant life allows her to produce the cure to Hunger's damaged liver. Healing is slow, but even a first-stage treatment reduces all penalities (and amplified damage) by half.
Make Aeira more relevant in combat and provide a cure to our liver. Pretty good. Could make Aeira stay relevant over the longer term, but extracting her from the Voyaging Realm would be very risky and probably not worth it.
[ ] Business - The support. Instead of focusing solely on her skills as a mercenary alone, Aeira studied the dismal science in an attempt to better understand and possibly extricate her family from its dismal situation. While this isn't immediately relevant, it would substantially improve her value to Letrizia as a magus-advisor in the Human Sphere, providing a form of long term income that isn't as vulnerable to abrupt termination as her current line of work. Grants +++Wisdom, ++Intelligence, ++Charisma.

Bonus: Apocalypse Later - Vastly reduces the risks of taking Aeira out of the Voyaging Realm. Without this, complications will almost certainly ensue.
The choice we should make if we want to bring Aeira to the Human Sphere. Not super helpful in our current circumstances, though.
No. There is a time to save but just when you're about to go into an encounter that has a chance of killing you isn't it.
[ ] Hero-Defeating Stance - Does not build towards All-Defeating Stance, but the best for your current situations. Improves both diplomatic and combat outcomes, all but guarantees survival in combat. Improves Rank, physical stats, effective Defensive Rank and odds against multiple opponents, all great qualities to look for in an Advancement!
N O T D Y I N G. All but guarantee survival in combat while also being very good for diplomacy. This is perfect.
[ ] Magic-Defeating Stance - Somewhat improves combat outcomes in most scenarios. Lowers Apocryphal risk in the long run. Grants superior defense against most esoteric attacks, useful in potential future engagements, and improves synergy with Gisena in battle.
Lowering Apocryphal risk is great and all, but it's not what we need right now, when we've outscaled it at the present time, anyway.
[ ] Guile-Defeating Stance - Strongly improves odds of diplomatic victory. Somewhat relevant in combat against intelligent opponents.
Best option for diplomacy. A decent choice, but we probably still have some chance to immediately die, if we pick this.

Why Hero Defeating Stance? If you all want a diplo victory; Guile is your best bet. We already have good combat odds. Why not get something that would benefit the Infiltration mission as a whole?

[X] Combat
Reduce the auto lose chance if the Apocryphal curse comes with some poison nemesis
[X] Magic-Defeating Stance
Our esoteric defence sucks ass, and this will also mitigate our Curses and also is building towards ADS

Guile is also good.

Don't underestimate the value of business!

I wonder, is the Outer Sorcery the equivalent magic system provided by the Ring of Hunger just like the Azure Ring gives Soul Evocation? Or maybe its a different sort of power like maybe the ones we already have with blood? Hmm...

Soul Evocation actually isn't very well suited to the power of the Azure Ring, not directly!

I can see the logic in getting it if one feels that The King Stands Alone is too rare / impractical / contested to pick up! This nearly guarantees you'll have reasonably high Defensive Rank against whatever enemies you encounter in the future.

Doom of Anti-Synergy - your build will never be synergetic. Your choices will branch out endlessly providing you with endless options that are shallow and unfocused. Feedback loops between systems are a distant dream. The worst part of the curse is that it will always offer you a chance to fix your problems, but it will always be ignored. Be it a stealth or a new magic system that does not provide synergy but sounds cool on paper, you will always select the inferior option. The curse subtly changes the mind of the Cursebearer, gaslighting him to think that the choices made are actually good. And after countless eons, when the curse runs it course, the poor Cursebearer will continue his self-destructive build path.
I think Temple is a pretty cool guy, Eh gives bonus Curses and doesn't afraid of anything

Even with the new revelations, I do hope for diplomatic success. Aeira vote is subject to change is someone scares me enough about Apocalypse Now or has clever stealth-related plans.

Better Diplo works pretty well with Crimson Flare. We will probably need to still kill a few of the immortal at some point before they decide to listen.

The Temple of the False Moon has severe power indeed...

If anything, more information would but improve the chances of diplomatic success!

I really think we should Save here; Crimson Flare was already the "diplomacy" focused option and our odds when fighting are already pretty good. EFB's remain one of the best purchases we can make; and if we are not saving we should at least pick something more in-line with our ultimate goal like Guile-defeating Stance.

Combat is good because she won't lose her Stealth utility, but more combatants are always helpful. I also boosts us directly by healing our wounds! What's not to like?

Ehh, there's a lot we can do until then that I think H-DS for this worry in specific is overly hasty.

So, stances. I'm personally very inclined towards SAVE, because there's likely a big build vote coming up and I want to buy something cool there. However, Not Dying is also important.

Out of the three stances, Hero-Defeating is actually my least favorite in the long term, but it does grant the best survival chances and ups the chance of diplomacy working as well. Guile-Defeating I like a bit better for its social focus, and it does greatly improve our chances of diplomatic victory. Magic-Defeating is the most likable of the three thanks to curse mitigation, but it also is the one that contributes the least to our current situation, offering only somewhat improved combat outcomes and no help at all to diplomacy.

I do want to play greedy here, but we did just pick Crimson Flare, which is already somewhat greedy.

OK, let me think. We likely generate around 2-4 Arete over the next 24 hours. Then the post-Avecarn build vote starts, and if we can pick up 3-5 Arete over the course of that vote, we can afford a 7-Arete choice. Alright, in that case buying a stance might not stop us from getting a 7-Arete option next build vote, which makes it more palatable.

[X] Guile-Defeating Stance
[X] Combat

Guile-Defeating because we're shooting for a social victory here even with Hero-Defeating. Getting a social victory with Hero-Defeating is very possible, and would leave us in a much worse position then if we had a comprehensive social defense like Guile-Defeating.

Magic-Defeating Stance offers good utility against many types of Soul Evocation and also grants Apocryphal mitigation! It could be a good "semi-greedy" option to pick up, contesting the more present-focused Guile- or Hero-Defeating Stances!

Combat is good because she won't lose her Stealth utility, but more combatants are always helpful. I also boosts us directly by healing our wounds! What's not to like?

Not really, in comparison to better stealth and infiltration a mediocre additional combatant is far less pertinent to the parties overall capabilities. This will only get more true as time goes on and we restore Verschle's Rank. Better she be a Master of one trade here.

[X] Combat
[X] Guile-Defeating Stance

If we choose the diplomacy option, we probably should focus on increasing the chances of diplomatic victory. We are already very unlikely to die here, and Guile-Defeating also contributes to the All-Defeating and leaves us an opportunity to buy TKSA in the future, in addition to diplomatic benefits.
