No need respond if you're stepping back, but my sympathies, I know the feeling.

It's not that I don't like the quest or interacting with all of you. I do.

But associating writing with emotional frustration is just shooting myself in the foot and taking the bread out of my mouth. Can't do it. I'll probably start voting again at some point, but no more omakes.

Caught myself leaning toward Offensive Bias on a first pass, then slapped that shit right out of my brain. No more suicidal antics, rolling the dice on death just because we can, barely scraping by while accumulating conditions. The Vanreir encounter should've taught us better than that. Fighting our way up the food chain is the sane approach to the Temple, fully exploiting our scaling mechanic. Also, we get to finally visit the Encampment and follow up with the merchants. Maybe we'll even run into a certain magus? Sharpbright's one part reference and one part wishing the best for Letrizia. The study of Rank & Pressure's her passion and it seems unfair that she can't manifest one herself.

Edit: Fuck I mixed Exavolt and Sharpbright up, I meant Sharp bright folk, not Exavolt

My opinion on approach is still on the fence but for SharpBrightis because I would like for our Dhaughteru to essentially stay relevant for a long time. Being able to advance her research and rank up permenetly. Not taking this option to me compared to the other one means at some point were probably going to have to abandon her which is... NOOOOOOOOOO.

Anyhow I never want to abandon the power of FRIENDSHIP which I why I stick my ground for Sharpbright for long term. Anything to keep our companions relevant is an option important to me. we already lost garden and were unsure if we can get it back through encounters or pillars so were not really left with many options to keep companions relevent.

Offensive Bias potentially will let us finish the temple before the Apocryphal curse comes back. We have a week left, which probably isn't enough time if we take Farm, then clear and definitely not enough if we stay and train.

As someone whom voted for breach the middle previously, i completely feel you.

Unlike votes-only quests, there's nothing stopping us from arbitrarily disregarding factions with malicious intent. I was reading that bleach quest you guys linked me to and apparently it (or at least the accusation thereof) was a substantial problem there. While it would be annoying for the vote talliers who'd have to manually exclude known members, literal spite factions have no power here.
Rule 0!

Looks like pressing into the Temple is still dangerous even backed up by an EFB. Couldn't we write-in something like 'Train our bloodbending further so pushing into the Temple is safer'. From an OOC perspective, we know that the Outriders/Temple have a sophisticated detection system, so they would assuredly be aware of us the moment we arrive within and dispatch appropriate force.

She kind of can, she's just low-Ranked right now! It's not to the point where it'd be obviously superhuman as Hunger was when he entered this world, but with the power of her Element that can change!

Do you even have a week, though? Have you factored in travel time?

I'm pretty happy with any of these options. Even my slight worries about dying are offset by Offensive Bias being Red!

Still, I think I slightly favour

Staying and Training is super meh, but with how our encounter rolls go we will get the worst option every time; so I'm going with the one that "only" give us a major condition. God, what kind of hole have dug ourselves in? Hunger will be more wounds than man by the time he finishes this!

While Exovolt is cool and immediate power, we have taken a bunch of immediate power and Letrizia has her armament. Her research on the other hand could have potentially fascinating effects and giving her rank it slowly seems better in the long run. Who knows what synergies with Ver would emerge, perhaps when he is up to full capacity she could push hime even further. Also are we really going to reject the path of more Sord?

After staying 2 days at the resort, can we specifically hunt the Rotbeast? We have Ruinous Valor + Eledross + Cut Through over what we had before coming to Hot Springs. It's probably 1/2 picks at this point, but it'd be worth a buff.
You mean "Stay and Train?"
A bit concerned about the child soldiers bit, this isn't a fantasy world in theme, else Hunger would have had happily ever after already.

Actually, Staying and Training is a low-risk way to acquire more power and control over your Element (leading to increased effectiveness) without lethal stakes! It's quite good, leaving aside that it allows you guys to generate more Arete before facing the Inner Temple.

Methodical, without being reckless. Gives us a chance to pick something that will level out our build, or if we must rush for a second EFB, to build Arete towards it.

Mm. Maybe stay and train. Maybe. Not sure I like it. Feels like wasting time.

I'm still strongly considering Exavolt, but for now the desire to see Letrizia geeking out over research is winning out.

I've stated my reasons for Farm then Clear previously. I think Offensive bias runs against the Not Dying faction ethos.

Even with Offensive Bias, I don't think we'll clear the Temple within Apocryphal-free time unless we take some truly ridiculous risks. Those stupendously dangerous foes we have a 5% chance to run in to are going to become increasingly inevitable the closer we get to the ring, and it's going to take several payouts of picks before we're ready to fight them.

Furthermore, even if Offensive Bias doesn't kill us it has very high odds of giving us complications that we will then have when the Apocryphal kicks in.

When dealing with the Apocryphal and the False Moon Temple at the same time, our best odds are to ensure we're never in a position where something going badly wrong can kill us. Because things are going to be going badly wrong, period.

So don't recruit them!

@Rihaku, how high a level of exavolt would she need for it to be relevant when piloting a fully restored Verschlengorge? Or is that impractical to reach?

Armaments are unstoppable but typically have fairly modest range due to how Shrouds work, so anything with stellar (solar system+) range would be theoretically relevant even if it can't hurt an Armament per se.

[X] Stay and Train

Going with this for now. I suspect however that Hunger's risk assessment analysis is biased by his fight with Vanreir, leading to worse estimates than expected. Then again, it might also be that Wis/Int is the determining factor behind how accurate our assessments are.

[X] Sharpbright

It's what Letrizia would want (I think). So there it is, even if Exavolt has superior combative capabilities.
