I'm unsure. I like your analysis, but the flaw I see is that Rihaku has been very transparent in the past. Any time we've had mind-altering options or votes impacted by the character, he's said so. Likewise, if we could or couldn't do something because of in-character choices, he's been pretty clear about it.

That said, there's still room for Hunger to have been biased by sweet sweet meme moon magic in-character. The first time we found something which resonated with a curse, it was vastly more powerful than us and servile, but that doesn't mean that will always be the case.
 
Aww yiss, I might not be totally crazy! New tactics presuming the moon is 1, psychic, and 2, going to eat us:

1.
a. Bring this up to our party members immediately
b. Grab +Protection. Including Immortal Regiment, to clear the minds of our party.
c. Assume others are possibly crazy, maybe bring this up to them and snap them out if we have an encounter?
d. Go back to the town and ask around? That ship has already sailed, maybe.
e. Run away?

2.
a. Bring this up to our party members immediately.
1. Especially Verschlengorge,
b. Starve the beast? Eat all life in the area before it can... might wanna get stronger first, also warn the town
c. Be ready for revenge when it notices.
d. Run away?

I'm approximately 100% confident, here, but I will feel immensely silly if I'm jumping at shadows.

I've been trying but I get too emotional and am not particularly good at debating, unfortunately.

But anyway the 2 arete is only a cost if Absolute Focus wins... and it's nearly unrecoverably behind. Actually, it has less voters than Barest Cut, so yeah it's out of the running.

Okay, people voting Aggressive: Please explain how either Immortal Regiment or Bright Vanquisher are well tuned for it. Noting that Rage suffers from recoil after use that means we only get to use it once a day unless we want to just plain leave the temple, and that due to having the lowest base stats it is extremely likely to be forced to use Rage form quite quickly.

You can't be "aggressive" if you have to run away after every encounter!

The really scenic route comment aggregates danger with the rest of the Temple. You're stronger if you live so the chance of dying later is lower. Simple.

Yep. Remember: We already have some of the most powerful mental influences of all running through us. They kinda drown out everything else. Because what beyond the Accursed can measure up to something like Doom of the Tyrant, or Geas of Indenture?
