I'm unsure. I like your analysis, but the flaw I see is that Rihaku has been very transparent in the past. Any time we've had mind-altering options or votes impacted by the character, he's said so. Likewise, if we could or couldn't do something because of in-character choices, he's been pretty clear about it.Edit2: Guys? The way nobody is responding to me is making me feel like a crazy person screaming about how the psychic moon is going to eat us. I was going to mention my idea of eating the moon before it could eat us (+Tactics! Can we dump Satiation?), but I don't wanna double post.

Aww yiss, I might not be totally crazy! New tactics presuming the moon is 1, psychic, and 2, going to eat us:
1.
a. Bring this up to our party members immediately
b. Grab +Protection. Including Immortal Regiment, to clear the minds of our party.
c. Assume others are possibly crazy, maybe bring this up to them and snap them out if we have an encounter?
d. Go back to the town and ask around? That ship has already sailed, maybe.
e. Run away?
2.
a. Bring this up to our party members immediately.
1. Especially Verschlengorge,
b. Starve the beast? Eat all life in the area before it can... might wanna get stronger first, also warn the town
c. Be ready for revenge when it notices.
d. Run away?
I'm approximately 100% confident, here, but I will feel immensely silly if I'm jumping at shadows.
with a Conservative approach to the dungeon we likely won't recoup its costs. Why so little support for Absolute Focus? It gives a flat percentage increase that seems to trump the mystery box, and the marginal power level increase. While it does cost some growth it allows for a superior chance of success.
What costs?with a Conservative approach to the dungeon we likely won't recoup its costs.
2 Arete... 1.5 of which came from the moon!
" Lose your next 2 Arete. "

We easily make more than that amount of Arete through discussion between updates alone.
I've been trying but I get too emotional and am not particularly good at debating, unfortunately. No we don't, Rihaku's already said the majority of our Arete generation comes from fanwork. If we could get that much through just discussion, we would be significantly stronger than we are now.

Yep. Remember: We already have some of the most powerful mental influences of all running through us. They kinda drown out everything else. Because what beyond the Accursed can measure up to something like Doom of the Tyrant, or Geas of Indenture?Cursebearers are immune to mental influence beyond a certain level, remember!
