On the flipside however, we can intentionally narrow the selection criteria by adding exhaustion or similar tags. It's one thing to be hunting a certain kind of being, it's whole nother animal to be able to specifically hone on the currently extra killable one.Scent is amazing, true, but it does have its downsides too. We've been told that we can't set the next target until we've dealt with the previous one, so if we make the wrong choice and find out we can't kill it in the near future for whatever reason, we basically lose the power until we finish them.
Sure, but some things are a bit difficult to narrow down. For instance, let's take Hunter's Moon targets. Our basic requirements would be that they're at least somewhat level-appropriate and that we can reach them within a reasonable timeframe. But then other questions start piling up. What if they have backers we can't afford to offend? We need to add that requirement too. What if we would have moral quandaries about killing them? I'm not sure the power would even be able to properly understand complex social requirements, because that would demand it can predict things, which seems outside the scope of its abilities. On the flipside however, we can intentionally narrow the selection criteria by adding exhaustion or similar tags. If we're going hunt for healing can we please get Scent of Prey? Running around aimlessly seems unwise, and it can serve us later for Huntress' Moon.
That seems to be the case! Don't underestimate the ridiculousness of a Hero, I suppose.I'm not sure what is Hunger supposed to do with his fucked up arm if we don't pick Rain/Blood. Wield Edge in our mouth?
Rank is important but we'll get more chances down the line. Regularly, by the look of things. Right now we are best served amplifying Huntress' Moon and setting up to get to our target in time - if we aren't in a rush to make sure we can heal Letz we should be Recuperating.I am also definitely teetering on swapping A&T for Scent like Orm, I do like the synergy, but Rank is also really important.
Do we know when this voting period closes? I can be convinced to switch, still.
Amarath costs 2 Arete but only one pick. Age costs 2 picks.I think I must have missed something... is Amaranth + Age and Treachery a valid pick?
Those are both 2 point options, and we only have 3 points!
Still somewhat undecided on the 25 point options... I'll just toss a vote Pillars' way though as though I;m not sure it merits it on usefulness I like the visuals of it somewhat better.
These are good points, but I imagine it could in part be addressed with some preliminary checking as well. That is to say we're going to have to kill someone for Hunter's Moon, and having a vague idea of what targets for it exist in the first place nearby would be a prudent decision regardless so as to get better tracking. Scent shines in two cases primarily, cases where we wouldn't even know where to begin for something important without it, and cases where we know exactly what we're looking for but not where they areSure, but some things are a bit difficult to narrow down. Interesting, interesting indeed. Hadn't considered that angle, 'mutters to himself' is a fairly keying descriptor...Though it would be interesting if we can apply it to confirm our guesses about enemies before battle. Like if someone attacks us out of nowhere and we need to narrow down some of their abilities, so we set a target like 'this specific enemy that is also an archer/mage/fighter, has ability x/y/z' etc. Would only work till we hit upon a right guess, then we'd have to kill them, but it's better than knowing nothing. And this would also preemptively mark them so we can chase after they inevitably escape!
[X] Pillars of Creation
[X] Hunt for Healing
[X] Evening Sky - Amaranth Star
[X] Echo of the Forebear
[X] Echo of the Forebear X 2
[X] Fury - +1 pick above
Upon reflection, I realize I would only pick Once and Future if there is nothing else available. I just don't find it interesting and would rather pick most other things.
If I had one pick I would take it over Pillars, but I think Pillar would better support more interesting picks so I might as well save it.
That's because when you introduce a runoff vote that relitigates a drawn out vote debate that took multiple days, then sit back and wait half a day or so, you don't always get a result that reprises the debate you're relitigating. Some of the voters who participated the first time simply won't show up, or new voters will show up, or the person who spent a lot of time advocating for one of the options last time will be busy.I'm surprised that the Pillars vs Once and Future vote has gone so definitively against Pillars!
