Uwaaaa, a single mention made everyone go max Social Link. I think just getting double of one then errantry or curse would more interesting. Haven't even decided on what to vote for.

Also those Kintsugi like cracks on the Blade were pretty cool, @Microwave MKII

That's the point of Nightmare though, to allow us to do stuff like that. With Might running in background you can take social options and still get some amount power progression.

See and this is where I think we kind of put ourselves in a bad spot. We don't have much immediate fighting power because we went long term last vote with Nightmare.

So we can go social and try to wait and accrue power. Or pilot the robot to safely gain power.

It seems like instead the vote is leaning towards rolling the dice and going for power anyway, which doesn't fit our choice in the last vote very well.

Gisena is great and I want to see more of her. We want to make her a permanent companion so let's get close. Also let's get started on curse mitigation as soon as possible, so this should maximise that.

Hmm.
0.05 Arete/Month
Voters = 50
Expected Quest Lifetime = 3 months (At a rate of 1 update/2 days, that gives 45 updates, which should be enough to complete the quest, reach near the end, or hit a terminal ending)
Expected Total Arete = 7.5 Arete if everyone signs up.

For combat, due to our far smaller size compared to the mecha, we could allow it to first engage the monster, before Gisena and Lord Hunger stab it in the back while its distracted. So long as the mecha can survive at least a couple of hits, victory should be relatively easy, with PC constantly being the pivot point on which the battle constantly turns.

Are you signing up for a 0.05/month or a 0.1/month signature?
.05 please, I'm more of a lurker.

Let's go slice-of-life! The relevation of +++ Gisena blinds me to other choices.

I've got an odd feeling of distrust towards Verschlengorge. It seems like we're being pushed in that direction. Not strongly, it's just the only plot hook staring us in the face at the moment. If I were playing pen and paper games with my group, I'd know for sure that the DM wanted us to go that way, for good or ill. Coming from Rihaku, on the other hand, I don't trust my impression. He usually goes out of his way to keep choices open, and maintains rigorous transparency with risky 'trap' options, so I suspect I'm reading too much into things.

It certainly appears that Rihaku had this setting in mind at least as far back as designing the companions. Both Ceathlynn and the Prolessarch made reference to these Astral realms.

Anyway, I'm a dirty shipper at heart.

[X] Seek Worthy Opponents

Let's put our increased social skills to work on the most powerful member of the party for immediate excellent returns instead of these human scrubs with their long term benefits, then go in for some monster smashing. The rest can wait until later, right now is the best time to browbeat the girl into letting us pilot, which will be much more difficult once she has authority backing her up, the decimator curse is mainly hitting the dungeon dimension right now where most of these people are monster fodder anyway so it can wait, apocryphal will be hopefully ameliorated by mecha. Meanwhile the fact we're in a dungeon like this means we should spend our time making best use of it. If we can make use of even a fraction of the mechs greater power due to our unique skills or resonance ability we'll be able to take fights that rocket us up the power scale.

I'll take the .05 signature version also.

Learn/Commune/Seek is super good yeah. At this point only reason I choose socializing over it is Curse mitigation.

Still, being good at piloting mecha is kinda important.

Inserted tally. Now, that I think about it. The Doom of the Champion might have had serious synergy with Accretion

Likely somewhat inaccurate due to people changing votes etc. It would be for the best if you eliminated Plan/Second Thought and then had us revote from that post though. I don't think that anyone voted for On Second Thought.

Also, I would implore any Opponents/Errant voter to take Opponents/Learn/Commune combo, it's really good.

It's kind of been skimmed over in favour of the vote but the polities we have to conquer and hold for 50 years consists of 10 thousand worlds plus another 20 thousand uninhabited ones which may or may not count for our purposes. Seems difficult to do with a combat approach so we're probably going to have to try and suborn the existing government somehow.

I mean we could try conquering each world personally but even if we just have to control 90% of the inhabited worlds we'd have to conquer each one in under 2 months in order to make it in time for our 1500 year deadline. If we have to take over the uninhabited worlds as well we'd have something like 20 days per planet which seems a bit rough.

This is made more difficult by the fact that they're split between three different polities so we'd have to unite them somehow as well first.

Thankfully, Nightmare is a step in right direction regarding that. However, mecha piloting is likely going to be as relevant by letting us fight cosmic horrors and such. Basically, we need to be both interstellar ruler and a champion of galactic empire.

Worried about interacting with an interstellar empire... but at least we have this lady help us out on this front.

Social is good. Social with our resident Curse mitigator? Even more so.

[X] Errantry - Perform various tasks for the people you encounter within the Voyaging Realm so as to more effectively forge your legend. Slowly increases Accretion Rank.

More Accretion- more plot armor + power.
Ergo, good.

Yeah I mean with enough biggatons anythings possible but we'd really have to scale up ludicrously for our combat ability to be more relevant than our social here.

The first is to get Gisena aware of our Curses, the second is to put Letrizia at ease so we can better cooperate. The third is to start setting up our legend here.

The uninhabited ones not just worlds, but star systems! You'd technically only need to control the resource extraction stations, which are usually owned by commercial or government interests of one of the three polities, however.

This is made more difficult by the fact that they're split between three different polities so we'd have to unite them somehow as well first.

The empire, long divided, must...

Gisena may be a true Renaissance Woman, but is even she capable enough to manage interstellar politics of this scale? Perhaps if she underwent some form of Sorcerous Evolution, then in time...

You'll need to substantially improve your Accretion Rank for such a feat, however!

That's we are training to be a mecha pilot and not just training to punch people in the face tho. These mechas are some real shit.

You can do this geas quest without ever gaining substantial mech piloting skill, but mech piloting has fairly decent synergy with Accretion and is a good lever for multiplying your power. It's also safer in the short term. Either path is viable.

Depends how strong the mecha is and how common mecha of its strength are in the Human Spheres. Especially since we do have to control the uninhabited systems as well apparently. Learning how to pilot the mecha doesn't do us any good if it turns out mechas are a dime a dozen.

Oof does that mean that even if we somehow control the three governments we still won't be done because some of the systems are controlled by corporations instead?
