@meri47

You missed an obvious play on words with your plan name. Vaeltigar ends in tigar, which sounds like tiger. Crouching tiger, hidden dragon.

Since Shadowed dragon looks to be winning I have a few questions.

1. For how long would you guys want to hide Viserys identity?
2. When would be a good time for you to go public?

I sort of imagined waiting until we had a stable income, and a dedicated group of people who we knew to be loyal to us absolutely and will not sell us out except in the case of a really crappy roll. And then if possible to go public in a dramatic reveal that would have our story of living as in the shadows and emerging in a burst of flame, fury, and hopefully something heroic Romantic.

It sounds pretty good, right? The dragon in the shadows, waiting, building its hoard, banking its rage. All for the moment when it can burst out, howling for Fire and Blood!

At the moment, we aren't anything. We need to craft our origin story. Whether we want to take back the Iron Throne or build a bank to rival Braavos, we won't get anywhere without it.

Don't forget the Spy-network. Can't be an Intrigue guy without one in a city like Lys. Maybe Dany can be the "face" of our business if we decide to take to merchant route more seriously...

Perhaps it will be something like the rise of the Medici family, with Viserys being the counterpart to Lorenzo il Magnifico. Perhaps, more infamously, we could develop along the lines of the Borgias.

Perhaps both? Daenerys, as the front face, could be the Medici, with Viserys lurking in the shadows as the sinister, intriguant Borgia.

Valarr I: The Merchant
Valarr I: The Merchant

You smiled, it was a quiet, dignified smile, but one that you had worn many times before. "Of course Master Merchant. I am Valarr Vaeltigar." You gave an exaggerated bow. "And I am at your service if you would allow me to do business with you."

The men were impressed. "I have not heard of your house before, Master Vaeltigar… But we would be honored if you would do business with the City of Lys." The lead merchant nodded, and the servant came to hand you a letter. "I am quite… hesitant to allow you a merchant right into the city… who is so young… but you have impressed this council. We shall hope to do business again, Master Valarr."

You stood up. "Of course, Master Merchant." You replied giving another smile.

Dany took your hand. She understood what you had done… if only slightly, for she did not say your name. "Brother… what are you doing?" She asked.

"Putting on a show my dear sister." You replied. "After all, you are the sister of Valarr Vaeltigar." You stated.

"Uh… okay, Valarr." She replied uncomfortably.

Warrek gave a silent nod, understanding what game you were playing at. A murmur's game… but you were skilled at murmurs.

"Now we have some silk to sell dear sister. And get you a nice, full meal." You replied, causing Dany to smile at you.

"Yay!" She replied as she skipped across the halls.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The MArkets were lively with merchants and buyers. And you found a buyer that was willing to purchase all the silk you had.

You sweated as you heard the number offer. "I can give you 200,000 Dragons for your entire stock." The Member of the pillow house stated. "That is all I can offer."

A Very Bad Deal: ??? vs 1D100 => 17

(The Dragon Awakens)

The man then looked at Dany, with lustful eyes… though I think we can work on an offer of even greater value if the girl was thrown in."

Your eyes widened in rage, as you struggled to gather a calm breath. In your mind, you heard a dragon roaring in anger, anger that had to be stated, for its hoard was being violated by thieves.

"The girl is my sister." You growled as Warrek narrowed his eyes.

"All the better, she is a fine Valyrian-" the man did not get another word before your fist smashed against the man's face.

The man's nose was bent into an odd angle, and the man screamed in pain. "ARGRAGH!" You then grabbed the man's shirt and held him up. The merchants around you, Lysini and otherwise, were curious

"You listen to me you shit." You whispered quietly. "You will apologize to my sister, and you will fall on your knees, and beg for my forgiveness, or I will make it my mission, to make your life, and that of your employers… a living, breathing, shitting hells!"

You growled. "What is your name?"

"Jaskier." The man replied.

"Well, Jaskier, if you needed that silk, you can go shove it up to your arse, but you cant, because you will have not a single roll of it!" You shouted, before throwing him onto the ground and spitting on his face. "Now get out of my fucking sight, you disgraceful piss!"

The man quivered in fear before he crawled away like a rodent and all the men around you were… quite… finished with your outburst.

That got someone's attention.

The Price Offer:1D100 => 90

"I'll take that silk for triple what he's offering." Another merchant said. You saw the man, with Valyrian features, white hair, purple eyes. Tall, lanky, like you, but much taller than you.

You nodded. "And who am I speaking to?" You asked.

"They call me Haegor." The man replied. "And you've just made an enemy of the Howling Hero's Pillow house."

"I care little for that nonsense." You replied. "I'm in the business of coin, and they insulted me, during negotiations."

"Ah… He tried to buy the girl, eh?" He asked.

"Yes," you replied. "And that girl is my sister."

Haegor whistled. "Damn… I'm impressed boy. They don't forget being denied." He replied.

"Well they'll get used to that from me if they want my silk…" You stated. "And you're willing to pay triple of what they offer?"

"Yes. You've done me a favor by humiliating that fucker in public… and leave it at that." He stated.

Reward: +600,000 Gold Dragons added. You no longer have the silk.

Howler's Heroes Pillow House is displeased with you.

Garret found a good place for you to rest, a nice Inn. Friendly, nice, and in the pocket of a friend of his.

You think.

What do you do:

(Choose 3 options)

[]The Council: You wish to meet the council again, hopefully, to discuss the future.

[]Establish A Spynetwork: You need one thing, and one thing only. Eyes and ears in places all over the city.

[]Subvert Enemy Agents: You have a feeling that your enemies have eyes and ears in this city. Perhaps you can turn them onto your side.

[]Purchase Property: You think you can do better than an inn.

[]Speak to Dany: You are Glad that she is feeling better. But she needs to know of the danger you are in.

[]Jobs: Garret wants to find work, thriving off of a party of a noble who is boasting about gold and silver… you'll assist with the endeavor.

[]Go to the Market: You want to buy a few items for yourself and Dany. You now have money.

[]Visit Pleasure House: You are in desperate need of a good fucking. Preferably with a whore who knows how to keep her mouth shut.

[]Socialize Around the City: You are going to make the rounds around the city, make friends, allies, perhaps even find a woman who is willing to join you.

[]Visit Merchants Guild: There is a guild of merchants who want to meet you, and perhaps, give you a mission of great wealth and profit.

[]Buy Goods: You are in the mood to buy goods cheaply. Hopefully to turn a profit.

AN: Enjoy and plan format please.

That went well... I think? In any case, I'd like to get to work on a spy network and maybe subverting enemy agents this turn. Might also want to talk to Dany about our situation.

Plan "Let's get down to Business"
[X]Establish A Spynetwork: You need one thing, and one thing only. Eyes and ears in places all over the city.
[X]Visit Merchants Guild: There is a guild of merchants who want to meet you, and perhaps, give you a mission of great wealth and profit.
[X]Buy Goods: You are in the mood to buy goods cheaply. Hopefully to turn a profit.

I admit that I was tempted by the house, but depending on how the spy network sets up we may not want to stay in Lys long. No point in buying property if we're moving to Norvos next week or something.

Hm, making enemies is inevitable. It is simply a matter of being careful about choosing which enemies to make. Having incurred the displeasure of this particular pillow house, we would do well to make connections with the enemies and rivals of this particular pillow house. Although, I wonder what would have happened if we had rolled higher in that initial roll with the bad deal.

Now, as to priorities, hm, it is a difficult choice, but I think we need to get started on the spy network immediately, along with subverting enemy agents. As to the third task, it may behoove us to speak to Daenerys to ensure she understands the full implications and danger of our situation. Given this windfall, we can take a breather for a moment to see to the intrigue side before getting back to making more money.

Once, it is done, assuming the other choices are still available, I think the ones we should keep in mind are:

[]Jobs: Garret wants to find work, thriving off of a party of a noble who is boasting about gold and silver… you'll assist with the endeavor.

Let Garret do what he does best, finding a wealthy patron for more money, connections, and information.

As to the rest, socializing is important for networking, especially given that we have already made an enemy in that particular pillow house. The other two options are self-explanatory, given that we are trying to become a merchant prince.

As to purchasing property and products in the market, along with speaking to the conclave again, best wait to see how the situation develops before doing such, hopefully after making a name and wealthy trading company for ourselves.

[X] Plan Information Security
-[X]Establish A Spynetwork: You need one thing, and one thing only. Eyes and ears in places all over the city.
-[X]Subvert Enemy Agents: You have a feeling that your enemies have eyes and ears in this city. Perhaps you can turn them onto your side.
-[X]Speak to Dany: You are Glad that she is feeling better. But she needs to know of the danger you are in.

[X] Prepare and de-stress
-[X]Establish A Spynetwork: You need one thing, and one thing only. Eyes and ears in places all over the city.
-[X]Subvert Enemy Agents: You have a feeling that your enemies have eyes and ears in this city. Perhaps you can turn them onto your side.
