I think we are a day ahead of schedule, so we can afford to recover a bit before sailing up the mountain.

Well-known in his local circles? Well, Hagrid was the groundskeeper for Hogwarts, while Garp is a Vice-Admiral, so I'd say... Check.
Has a tendency to blurt out (what should be) confidential information, or drop hints without him noticing until after he's spoken? You tell me, but I'm leaning towards... Check.
So, yes, Garp is basically the One Piece universe's version of Hagrid.

Do you guys ever stop to think about how amazing it is that Taylor is as good at some of the things she does as she is? Like the rest of the (main) crew have been doing there thing since they were kids...Taylor didn't really start until she was in her mid teens.

Same thing, luffy needed to train for 1 year and a quarter to master the basic of the three colours of haki, and he was trained by Rayleigh,the same luffy that saw soru once and copied it instatly.

Yeah this quest is more narrative than anything else so the system is not the best in terms of balance, our growth is way too much.

Super excited to see how Whisky Peak turns out if Garp is still on board. On one hand, he'd absolutely get smashed at the party and be an unconscious lump for the entire bounty hunter fight. On the other, I can't recall exactly why Vivi didn't go to the Marines for help with Alabasta (I guess Crocodile has a free pass from normal Marines?) but Garp would definitely have the authority to just shut Crocodile down if he was willing. Also, no way is Miss All-Sunday going to make her "mysterious murder woman" appearance on the ship when there's a freaking Vice-Admiral just bumming around.
