I'm now imagining Garp in a Loud Hawaiian shirt and Groucho glasses as a disguise so people won't bother him on his vacation.
EDIT: the people don't bother him because he's Garp
Hmm, I mean due to the whole 'absolute justice' thing there's a decent chance the marines that know about this go idiot and give Garp a bounty so he decides to treat this as retirement...

I mean he does seem the type to just stay on the ship the entire time and leave things to Luffy, possibly while doing things like attaching weights to him to give him a 'challenge'. This would mean that while we might have a massively powerful 'safety net' in Garp he'd only really care about not being bothered for the most part, and no matter how strong we get from training with him his adding things to make things a challenge means we won't be OP regardless.
Really having him with us is no different than having Queenie.

Please, what would Garp the Hero be doing on a dinky ship like that? God, those crew members are basically pirates! They even have bounties!

No, Garp is obviously exactly where the World Government loudly and frequently reports him to be! That's just some drunken elderly hobo.

[X] Haki: Armament
[X] Physicality: Strength
[X] Crew: Monkey D. Garp
I say we need some punching power and Garp is the perfect choice to learn this from.

what would Garp the Hero be doing on a dinky ship like that?
Garp looked around his grandson's ship, noting with approval that it was kept clean and reasonably well maintained. As his eyes tracked over the figurehead, where his foolish grandson was sitting, he stopped, and openly stared.
'It can't be...' he thought.

"Is there a problem with him sitting there?"
He turned to look at the girl with the haki and debated whether to answer.

"What is the name of this ship?"
"The Bast's Pride, briefly known as the Bezan Black before we liberated it from the pirates who'd been using it and gave her back her real name. Why do you ask?"
"Yeah, Grampa, why do you want to know about my ship?" Luffy asked, having ambled over at some point.

He thought about not telling them, for a moment. But it wouldn't matter, either way. And this ship...
"I sailed on the Bast once, a long time ago. When I was still rising through the ranks." He enjoyed the look of shock on Luffy's face.
"Whaaaat?! When? Why didn't you tell me? Are you gonna take it from me now?!"
"Shut up, damn brat! It was a long time ago, like I just said, and I've been on a lot of different ships over the years. Besides, I'd heard this one had been taken over by pirates, so I kinda forgot about her. And no, I'm not taking your ship."

The girl gave him a shrewd look.
"The Bast's Pride is special to you, though. Or was."

He sighed.
"I had...have, I guess, some good memories here. I was a young Marine and my team and I had a mission to escort a group of VIPs. One of them was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen"
"Huh...that was not what I was expecting."
"So what happened to her, Grandpa?"
"Idiot! We fell in love on that mission and got married immediately. That was your grandmother!"
Luffy looked confused, as he always did, but the girl was staring at him rather intently.

"Immediately married, huh? Just how...good were these memories?"
Drat, she'd picked up on it that quickly?
"Perceptive little shit, aren't you? Yeah, pretty much what you're thinking. Luffy's dad was conceived here on this ship."

************
And that's my headcanon for why Garp decides to stick around for a while. Really good memories on this ship. I don't think there's any canon on how old the ship is, so I took the liberty.

So, if the crew were a DnD party Taylor would totally be the wizard. I have no idea about anyone else.
Luffy - Monk [Flurry of Blows, few worldly attachments]
Zoro - Fighter [Basic melee weapon-based warrior, capable of some incredible feats]
Sanji - Battle Dancer [Melee fighter with some charisma bonuses, if the dance style was something like capoeira it would fit Sanji's no-hands style]
Nami - Rogue/Sorcerer
Usopp - Ranger [Ranged weapon fighter with some nature spells down the line to represent his plant shots]

Zoro's totally a Tome of Battle Martial Adept, a basic fighter can't even start to represent Zoro
Nami is a Use device focused Rogue with knowledge Meteorology and cartography
Usopp is a Artificer, spends all his time tinkering making basically magical devices and ammunition

Could you give me an example?
Well take that vote specifically. You had three general events going on that didn't really influence each other; Tashigi's recruitment, Bart's recruitment, and the chase with Garp/Captain Smoker. The first two had fairly binary options, yes or no+flavor text, so you could have done something like this:
Tashigi's recruitment (choose one):
[] yes
[] no

Bart's recruitment (choose one):
[] yes
[] no

While Garp you didn't seem to have a plan for except "game over", which doesn't mesh well with anything else. So it would look something like:

Chase (choose one):
[] game over
[] write-in

this way write-ins are clearly the real Option—except for those people who just want to see an amusing end to a short campaign—and because they're in a Designated category, people don't compare them to the other categories. I also know there should be ways to set the vote tally so it reads the vote in those specific groups—unless that's only on spacebattles?—but have no idea how to do it since I've never used it before.

[X] Haki: Conqueror's
[X] Skill: Queen Administrator's Best Buddy
[X] Crew: Queen Administrator (duh) AND Monkey D Garp

Zoro is more of a monk with his 36 worldly desires and whatnot.

All his major moves are tied to Buddhism.

Honestly I'm half expecting him to bail at the first major island after Reverse mountain, though even then that's probably enough to scare off Robin...

I suppose it depends on whether she recognised him when he's wearing a really gaudy Hawaiian shirt or not... or if his reputation for being a decent person is well known...
I'm going to vote for him escorting Laboon though the Calm Belt, so Laboon can go look for his old friends, and spend some time with other island whales(yes I know Brook is on the Grand Line, but in character, Laboon think they're on the other side of the Red Line.
Luffy can't get scared/embarrassed by that, it would require him to know what being conceived means, and we all know he don't have that much knowledge about sexual relationships.

Monks as a class don't use swords though.
If you're going off D&D, there are weapons that are explicitly called out as Monk Weapons which allow for the monk class features to be utilised, these do include some swords. They are not restricted to just unarmed combat.
