I can't recall the quest name (it has been a while), I didn't participate and only heard by word of mouth. It was on spacebattles, I think. And it was ran by Ganurath or TPK....

But I do remember it being cited on multiple occasions as a point that the suicidally crazy write-in may not be crazy enough to work, it's just suicidal.
I've never run a Bleach Quest. Closest I've done to anything like that was a defunct Warhammer Fantasy Quest where the Border Prince starting plan had wound up being more susceptible to being backstabbed than if it had had a dark elf advisor.

[X] Garp catches up, but only once we're on the ship. Now we're wanted for kidnapping a Vice Admiral!
[X] Tashigi stays behind (And becomes a good little Marine lapdog, just like Contessa wants))
[X] Bartolomeo stay behind (Nami pouts for days)

[X] Garp catches up, Kaya uses Persuasion. It's super effective. Journey continues without being pirates, for now.

Honestly we haven't done anything illegal yet! Garp's the one that caused all the collateral damage. Garp didn't keep Luffy where he could see him before he went to sea, so this should be fine.

I don't see why we should become criminals right now. We can carry on being bounty hunters. Luffy saying he's going to be pirate king isn't actually in itself illegal I think.

This honestly is what I would expect if the Garp option wins. The group has no bounties and have committed no real crimes. We are not really pirates yet.

This means that the option is fully open for Raven to write some amusing shenanigans with Garp, Luffy and the rest of the crew, followed by Garp eventually leaving more or less peacefully.

This is way too amusing to pass.

I like Barto as the fanboy he is in canon. Luffy knocking his ass out ought to do the trick.

I'm really hoping for both to join the crew. They're just so.. wildly different from one another. Their image, personalities, upbringing, beliefs, everything about Tashigi and Bart are complete opposites. It seems like it'll be fun to have them both as new crew-mates just to see how that contrast plays out.

Going Full Kubo by TPK, best as I can recall.

And as I'm fond of saying, the players actually voted to kill themselves twice; once with the sword, once by sending an unarmed Aizen in to be the filling of a Kenpachi sandwich.

At least with the second one, the guy who pushed for it knew it was a terrible idea and was laughing the whole way.

[X] Usopp and/or Kaya Joins
[X] Bartolomeo Joins (and pays back his debt to Nami) at least till Nami can turn him in for a bounty

Almost missed this, if it weren't for my phone beeping with an email notice.

Don't worry Nami, you'll get him back. Eventually.

This vote is getting a scary amount of traction.

If I need to get Garp to join the crew I will. He can be the crew's grandpa. It'll mean steamrolling the shit out of the early grandline arcs, at least until he gets off at Alabasta, but still...

I can see that, but I honestly feel we haven't done enough to make Tashigi consider leaving the Marines, and she hasn't seen enough of their dark side either. Not yet. As it stands, I think she might fit the Coby role for Taylor, someone highly impressed by our protagonist but who's on the other side and thus has a conflicted morality. Some time down the line, after a few more run ins without Taylor, she might be willing to jump ship. I'm not fond of the idea of kidnapping her, which we would basically be doing right now.

Barto, on the other hand, doesn't have any real ties to an organization and is just as impressionable. Kidnapping him seems totally fine. As for his fanboy-ism, I'm really hoping he becomes a Taylor fanboy instead. Or, even better, a Queenie fanboy, to the point that his eventual ship (if he goes off to get his own crew) will be the Going Queenie-Sempai. Another ship with a cat figurehead.

But that's just my two beri.

Garp catching up is just too amusing to me to pass up. Plus, we're not technically pirates yet. I mean, sure Luffy keeps shouting to anyone who asks(and anyone who doesn't) that he's going to be the pirate king. I don't think just saying that is illegal, and Garp won't do anymore than try to convince Luffy that he shouldn't be a pirate. If Luffy just saying that is enough for Garp to haul him in or otherwise hinder him, Luffy never would have been able to leave his home. And, if Garp catches up we might be able to get away with kidnapping inviting Tashigi to join our crew, since we might be able to convince Garp to 'reassign' Tashigi to our crew. Besides, it's not like Garp couldn't just leave after catching up with his grandson and his crew.

Think of the training we can get from him in that time though. Potentially, we could get triple speed improvements in anything we train with him, he's a professional instructor, after all. Look at what he did with Coby.

Why would he train us in anything?
Why would you assume he would?
Why would he give us a bonus in anything?
