[X] "I wish upon the Grail... Give Peace to this war-torn City, Give Peace to this accursed Doll, Give Peace to the Wicked Queen! Save us all at once; spare the people the memory of this conflict, and with that same energy and intent incarnate Medb into the world!

Three against Thirteen with only a few of hours to go. Well, I did say I'd do as I wished. And if this is the end, then let's go full circle and say 'fuck yo couch, I've earned both'.

Modified the vote; it's better now. Vote for this, everyone! Let's not resign ourselves to our Fate!
But now it's just two votes pretending to be one...

Like I don't want to sound like I don't want the perfect ending. But I also don't want to people to think they're voting for the perfect ending and then be salty when it doesn't work out that way because that's not how the grail works, or perhaps that's not how one wish works.

And I don't want to be forced to be "really clever" in the final vote of the quest just to get an actual happy ending for the protagonists.

I just want to vote in a quest for an option I'd like instead of being given a stupid problem to solve that maaaaaay if we're lucky (IE. the QM lets us) give us what we want. The QM was the one who came up with the framework of this update's vote.

People voted to have the protagonists work together and try to find another way but all that we're given is a choice between "fate route ending" and "write-in" which means the spirit of the winning vote was ignored in favour of the letter of it.

The very structure of the vote is biased towards "fate ending" and requires a great amount of skill and creative thinking just to get any other outcome.

I am reading this as:
Anonymous Rabbit, how dare you make us make a sweat and work towards the happy ending we'd like in your quest instead of spoonfeeding us a solution! You utter rascal!

It's not like we're playing a quest in some sort of a setting famous for its tragedies, moral quandaries and... uh... bittersweet... endings?

Oh wait we are.

Like, I feel like I could understand where you're coming from if I didn't specifically assume this attitude when I chose to participate:
I also don't really care about Heaven's Feel or whatever, because look, the city is getting nuked, and Brie is just a slab of cheese waiting to be melted, I've already made my peace with it.
because I actively expect to get screwed while participating in Rabbit's Quests, whether of my own volition or just because.

I've made my peace with whatever comes our way long ago, which is probably why I don't feel so aggrandized over this, I guess.

Well, we're also not on a site with an explicit rule of 'this is not a hugbox', but the resulting effect still occurs. Funny how that happens.

[X] "Let this war and its outcome be a secret held in trust between us, and no other. Let us hold the truth of this war close, never to be taken from us: not by time, not by magecraft, not even by the Throne of Heroes. And let it be our secret alone. Let the innocents, the onlookers, the watchful eyes of the Clocktower, forget, the miracles and nightmares of this war slipping from their thoughts like mist at dawn."

Functionally, this is "I wish everyone but Medb and Brie would forget; and that Medb and Brie would definitely remember." I think that's one wish. It feels like an atomic idea to me, even if it's two clauses in English.

Frankly, I have no idea if this is is possible. I'm not familiar enough with Fate to say with certainty that it will work. But the basic idea is to a) maybe not let a couple hundred thousand people die; b) ensure Medb remembers, so that - even though she will dissipate now, it's still possible for Brie to call her back at some future time, and have it be her Medb, not another instance of Medb; and c) re-establish stealth to put Brie in an advantageous position to strike Minerva at a later date.

Huh, that could actually work, I dunno.

Like, yeah, I wouldn't be too hopeful, but it's clever enough.

oooh yeah, that is clever

might even just be clever enough

"The Nasuverse is pointlessly edgy and full of unrealistic drama, "status quo is best quo" "Immortality makes life meaningless", "pointless suffering is needed for humans to advance" and "nonhumans GTFO" themes" I'm glad you agree

Get off your high horse. If you can't handle me calling out what I consider unfair QMing and trying to tilt the vote in favor of his preferred ending then I don't know why you're even responding.

I like it. Not sure if it'll work as intended, but it's creative.

Because I think you're on your own high horse of expecting preferential treatment towards getting an effortlessly happy ending?

Here we are, both on our high horses, shouting at each other and waving our swords around, it's like Medieval age never ended, huh.

Thanks, Thelxiope. This is great write-in!

I actually... like it? What is this feeling? Am I in lo-
Nope, but close enough.

Wait we don't want Emiya and co to forget about us, or Scathach. I'm on my phone right now, could someone modify the vote slightly?

The more clauses we add to the Wish the less chance it has of working properly, and I honestly love the idea of everyone except for Medb and Brie forgetting this whole sordid affair.
Like, narratively, this is still a sacrifice, a sacrifice of friendships and connections and the practical possibility of acquiring Luvia's or Scathcah's resources towards not dying, and this is why it's holding up for me.
Also, I really like the thought of Minerva waking up in the body she was set off to acquire without remembering how, only for Brie to come at her like a ton of bricks in the future, and she doesn't even know who that is, lol.

That was my worry; I took a shower, and had a thought!

Alternate wish would be something like "I wish that only the participants in this war remembered it, and that they would never forget it"

This means Minerva remembers us ... but so do Scathach, Emiya, and all the other Servants and Masters. Like, say, Ruler and Carmilla, if they happen to be summoned in some future War Brie is in because she needs a Wish to incarnate Medb

Give me a few minutes to whip up a fancy phrasing, if people find that preferable?

right of cooooooourse the ENTIRE quest up to this point, all that was done, all the struggle and sacrifices didn't count as "working for the happy ending" it only matters if we solve this super complex logic problem in the very last vote, in the penultimate update.

*golf claps*

I honestly don't know what else to tell you, so you win, I guess?

That will just split the vote again.

And the best thing is, we can claim to be Shirou Emiya's illegitimate daughter, and no one could contradict us, because they don't remember who we are! :V

We need to diversify from Servant Bulli to Master Bulli in order to become the greatest Master there is.

Someday, Rin Tohsaka. Someday, we'll defeat you.

In light of concerns @Impstar raised, I have reworded my vote slightly, so that all participants in the war will remember, including, say, Scathach, Emiya, Ruler, and so on. I would ask that you please change your vote accordingly. Thank you!

Hey, sorry to bother you all, but a write-in has emerged that does everything the Fate Route vote does, but also is less awful. Please consider voting for it instead!

But I liked the first vote...
*whines*

eh, I'd like to think on it, but I also would really like to go to sleep, and knowing Rabbit's insane update schedule and the time difference between wherever he is and wherever I am, I could be waking up to an update.

I'll leave it as is and if I wake up with the vote undecided but the new vote gets enough traction to overturn the old version not to win against the old votes, I'll vote for it then
