A Road of Life: A Road To Power: A Medieval Adventure of Rising to Power

But even a weak Thrall can get around 500 gold per person. A great Thrall can get up to 2000.

I am going to go on a hunch and assume that female thralls are better than male ones. Children are worth more than adults (cause they work longer) and strong people (not necessarily fighters) are also a good notion. All right. With that in mind let's kidnap a blacksmith's entire family.

there a reason the jarl being extra dickish toward us or is it just because we casual like disrespect him ?

because he seem to be dickish to everyone but just a little bit more toward us??

still i am part way interested in backstabbing the fuck and see how they other guy treats us.

The Jarl hoped that we died to fairhair, to help him gain legitamcy and make Harald look like the agressor so he would gain more Jarls of Norway to his side.

When that did not happen, he was put into a bad position, and blames us, his messenger for fucking everything up by not dying.

so he send us to someone he doesn`t like / hate. hope`s we die so he can go to war
when said person does not as a total dick by not killing the messenger our jarl gets mad with the messenger?
then said messenger start showing up on raid and showing him up by getting victory`s
he gets extra salty and because "reasons" stops us from going on raid because that somehow helps him??

not a very smart jarl that is oh well hope we can find a nice place to sit back and see the fireworks or whatever when fairhair comes along too kill him and we somehow save a good number of our ppl doing it.

Yes.

He's furious because his plan failed, and since we are not dead, he also had to pay us a handsome sum of money.
then said messenger start showing up on raid and showing him up by getting victory`s
And also being blessed by Odin, but he doesn't know that.

No, he wants us to stay so that when the time comes, we fight his battles on the battlefield, instead of just being a good raider.

Yeah, either not very smart, or very weak, or very insecure with his position.

Not very smart and generally jealous of his subjects from our growing prestige and prowess, which, under a better Jarl, would be celebrated, because we are still his subject, and we ourselves should be a source of prestige for him, having the Wall Breaker working for him.

Very weak, in that he fears that once we become renowned and strong, he fears we'll be able to beat him for the Jarlship. If he was smarter, he would seek to placate us more, while less publicly censuring us. Something like grant us land, that just happens to be not profitable at all. Like craggy, rocky terrain, with poor stone and soil. Which also means we must pay more taxes, or else default on our taxes and have our land revoked, and a major hit to our prestige, of not being good enough to provide for ourselves.

Very insecure in his position, he could fear that we could gain popular support among the fellow raiders, as we the Blessed of Odin strut our stuff, and people begin to wonder why, exactly, we're basically just a peasant, and why the Jarl, who likely doesn't have as strong of an epithet or as good of a report with the raiders, is Jarl. If he was better, he would, again, seek to placate us, while also endearing himself further to the raiders serving under his banner, while subtly aligning events that would lessen our prestige, or allay our epithet. Such as sending us to wall-less raiding places. Just ensure we don't go to any more important places, ensure we can only join raids to the fishers and the lesser villages, and our prestige will naturally lessen without further ability to bolster it, like we can at churches and greater villages.

that about the only part that kind of makes sense but he is going about it in a very strange way?

oh well weird warrior king mentality aside love what i read so far wonder what kind of weird shit going to pop up next

I kinda like how Magoose characters are minmaxed fusterclucks.

Like in the Arryn quest our protag is a master Talk no Jutsu diplomat while in this one we're a one man sieging crew.

The Birth
The Birth:

The woman came in the night, just as Kara's water broke, barging into your home like a figure of great strength. Her eyes like a wild storm, here hair, firey cinders.

The Ax in your hand was not even threatening to her. "What are you doing here?!" You demanded as Kara's mother and your father took positions to defend her.

"To help one who holds more lives in her hands then you do child." The woman was an old crone, like a witch, but… far more disconcerting. Her voice was like she was scraping steel upon a grindstone… and causing the ears to ring in pain. "If you wish for her to die, then by all means, put that ax in my head, like you have done so many times."

You gritted your teeth and heard Kara scream in pain. The nuns you captured, who had been silently helping her, were trying to help Kara remain calm, and ease her pain.

"Fine." you growled.

"Leave us." The woman stated. "It would be better for all of you if we are not disturbed."

You gritted your teeth, about to protest when the woman spoke again. "And chosen of Odin-" You paused, and the ax nearly slipped from your hand in shock. "While he smiles upon you and yours, the others are not so inclined, for they have their own that they wish to succeed on the same mission as you. You face many challenges on the voyage ahead. But do not fear… for, whatever happens on that voyage, your saga is your own. And all of Norgar will sing of it. One day."

With that, you all left home and felt a calming aura fall upon you.

All you could hear was screaming… despite it.

You prayed to the gods for Kara and your children.

The wailing of children was heard as Kara's screams faded into the night. The entire ordeal was maddening, and as you tried to sleep, nothing could change that… blistering sound that Kara made.

It filled you with great sadness that she was in such pain… a pain only she could understand.

As the crying continued, and the door opened, you looked at the crone. "What have you done?"

"Saved her life, no doubt she would have died without my help." The woman stated.

"Why did you help us?" You asked. "Why come here?"

"We all have our… roles to play in this grand stage. I myself, am just one player on this grand stage." She states warmly. "Now… I will leave you now."

"Do you want any payment?" You asked.

"Oh no… a life that I have given birth too, is payment enough." She stated before she wandered away. She paused and turned. "Actually, I do have one thing to ask."

"Name it." You replied.

"You shall know it, my child… I assure you." She then walked away. "You shall know it."

AN: Enjoy.

Also, the kids will not be getting their own individual character sheets for a while, not until they are 6.

Our kids are both strong and attractive, pretty good if I say so myself. It seems like our dynasty are going to be like the stereotypical jocks, Chad's, well liked and popular, strong and attractive, but I reckon them and their descendants won't have much booksmarts. They seem like fighting savants.

[X] Magni

[X] Torunn

[X] Modi

[X] Sigyn

They're going to be warriors, let's give them names fit for fighters.

In CK2 kids only started upbringing at age 6 anyway (with the Conclave DLC).

I'm going full on references for the names.
