A Road of Life: A Road To Power: A Medieval Adventure of Rising to Power

Anyone else thinking that we should have one of kids, possibly our heir, fostered by Fairhair with his legendary Diplomacy. That way, even if we can't form Scandinavia as an empire, one of our kids might.

The Founding of the Kingdom of Norway is perhaps after the creation of the Greek State of Cremia of the 900's, is perhaps the single most fantastical story of the unification of a people of all of human history. From the Jarls, the stories and the main men who built the kingdom itself into a shinning maritime kingdom by the turn of the millennium, it is perhaps, quite likely, without the Saga of Norway written by Christian monks that were kept as the kingdoms chronicles, it would be impossible to say that this feat of unification to be attributed to anyone that may be considered real.

But since the Saga was rediscovered in the 1920s and translated into English in 1953, historians and Norwegians alike have frothed at the mouth at this one of a kind work of literature, blending both the saga's of legend and historical record into a fantastical story of war, honor, revenge, and unification, before beginning a long and glorious history that was written over three hundred years, and at over 20,000 pages… the longest and most complete book series in human history.

Splint into twenty-five volumes detailing a vast and mythological history of the region, before beginning the Tale of the Father of the First king, Dankmar Svenson, the Progenitor of House of Veggbrotsjór and the King, Einar The Wallbreaker, Elric the Golden One, and his adventures with the legendary Viking, Ragnar Lodbrock. While many of the tales as exaggerations, as Ragnar Lodbrock was a folk hero in the 9th century for Vikings to gather around in their time of unification, and raids in England, the fact that there are so many details of Dankmar's life, along with numerous records of the man serving as Commander of the Varangian Guard, and being mentioned seven times by name in the Makedonian Chronicles as being the tutor to Marcus Makedon., there are many who think that Dankmar was the one who was the men who could be claimed to be Ragnar Lodbrok himself.

However, the claims fall upon very flimsy evidence, especially since he does not enter the written record until two years after the Gaurd was formed and the stories of Ragnar date fifty years before Dankmar was even born. And the many stories of him living a simple life in the Fjords of Norway, tending to his fields instead of craving gold and glory, add another layer of mystique to him, both in history and as a character in the popular imagination.

Whatever the case, Dankmar was but one piece of the board that was Norway.

The other, perhaps the second most important man in the unification of Norway, was Harald 'Fairhair' Yngling. Jarl of Vikken and the King Western fjords. Described as a tall man, with hair as flowing and golden as the wheat field in harvest, he was a fierce warrior, and perhaps the best strategist and navel commander alive in his era. He led raids all over northern Germany, before joining forces with Einar, and the Great battle of the Southern Lands, at Vikken, that decided the fate of Norway.

However, all names, all figures and all men, pale in comparison to the man who led the unification of Norway. Einar The WallBreaker. But that will have to wait for next lecture, and we begin with his first 'Silent Raids' on the Irish coastline where he stole almost 100,000 gold pieces in bounty.

[X]No: Go back to the American revolution!

Please finish the current Quests first.
The only reason I am asking this is that the notes for the America quest (including the first five updates) were corrupted and I am super exhausted and furious from losing all that work.

In that case...

[X]Yes Continue the Sequal, Einar needs to be cemented in history!

To give you time to recover those notes and distance you from the source of your frustration.

Edit: And continue the Saga
