Y'know, I just realized something. Won't we skip potentially recruiting Chopper? The only reason the Straw Hats went to Drum Island in the OTL was because Nami got bitten by a bug, and Taylor would just take control of said bug before it bit her (unless we aren't close enough to Nami at that point).

Don't get me wrong i love One Piece but seeing all the main cast join up the same way again and again is getting pretty boring....

There are some characters from the main cast that I wouldn't mind avoiding outright. Honestly, the only sure fire, unavoidable characters in the crew are:
Zoro
Luffy
And that's it. This is a quest. If you guys don't want Nami, or don't do the right things to convince her, she won't join. Likewise, others might join if different actions are taken. I'm keen on avoiding some canon characters (writing Usopp is a pain) but it's not up to me.
