Snowfall
[] Tackle Medb. "No, Rider no! Bad kitty! Calm down! Calm down, damn it!"

She's going to blow the Cabin apart?! What was she, a Berserker?! No, you had to stop her somehow. Medb was about to to swing her sword when you rushed her side and tackled her. That made her stop as the two of you hit the ground with you grabbing her waist as she tried to recover.

"No, Rider no! Bad kitty!" You hissed as you ended up being dragged by her E Ranked strength, "Calm down! Calm down, damn it!"

"I will after I cave her face in! Stop acting so smug you Hag!" Medb barked as she tried swinging her sword.

"Well I suppose this meeting was inevitable. Suffice to say I was not intruding upon any of your properties. Practice restraint as a true royalty would, Medb. It's shameful to see you like this," Sarah said as she sighed.

"Damn you! What were you doing to this girl?!" Medb hissed as she let go of her sword and picked you up, "You were the teacher she's been mentioning?!"

"Indeed. What? Didn't you know?" Sarah asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Well we wouldn't want you to sense me as a Servant but now... Grrrrr..." Medb growled as you held her back.

"You two know each other?" You asked with a tired tone as you kept your Servant from killing herself somehow.

"In passing. However Brie, allow me to introduce myself. I am Scathach of the Land of Shadows," Scathach introduced herself as she stabbed her spear into the floor, "Mentor to Ireland's greatest Hero."

"The Witch of Dun Scaith," you blinked as you ended up freezing in place, "You're..."

"Cu Chulainn's Teacher. A bonafide Hero Maker similar to Chiron or Merlin," Medb grumbled as she relaxed, "And apparently a woman with a giant stick up her ass."

"I don't know about that but I do happen to have a giant stick," Scathach replied as she twirled her spear and pointed it at Medb, "Perhaps we could make the statement true for you?"

"Rider no. You'll get killed. She's killed Gods and Demons. You're a goddamned chump compared to her!" You warned as you tried pulling her back.

"Oh yeah?! Well I have beef with her!" Medb barked as she grit her teeth.

"She believes that the reason Setanta refused her advances was because of me," Scathach explained in brief.

"Can you for once try not to think with your lust, Rider?!" You groaned as Medb eventually froze and grumbled.

"But Cu-chan..." Rider whimpered as she fell limp.

Scathach raised an eyebrow and turned to you, "It seems like you've tamed her well. Color me impressed."

"Stop you'll make her cry," you said as Medb deflated so you had to drag her to the couch.

"I'm not going to cry! That Hag's just an eyesore!" Medb hissed as she dismissed her sword.

"I've been called worse," Scathach relented with a shake of her head.

You turned towards her and frowned, "I see. Given what knowledge I have I could see that."

Scathach moved to one of her chairs and sat there with a graceful move, "Well isn't that nice. Still it's most fortunate that this petty child decided to crash in once Hans has left."

"He probably noticed her coming," you said as you shook your head, "Given how we fight, it's no small secret on who this is."

"It can't be helped. What are they going to do? Shoot me with cheese?" Medb scoffed obviously in a horrible mood.

"Most likely yes. Don't underestimate how much Magi will use this weakness of yours," Scathach said as she crossed her arms.

"Don't lecture me, you dumb battle axe," Rider growled in annoyance.

"Rider please," you sighed as you pinched the bridge of your nose. You turned to the woman before you and asked, "Did you know that I know about you?"

"I could tell you were suspicious of my true nature but you never truly had hard evidence to act on it. Besides, I too was curious of your true nature," Scathach admitted as she nodded your way.

"A Doll..." You murmured as you held your chest, feeling your beating heart.

"Brie?" Rider asked with a concerned look.

"No, it's fine," you sighed as you shook your head.

"Is it now? This is a dire revelation on your existence. A Doll made solely to kill a person yet ended up gaining consciousness," Scathach replied as she gave you the same calculative look she had given you before.

"Wait what's this about?" Medb asked as she sat up.

"I met someone who knew of my circumstances... Hans Derrinsmith was the one who trapped me in that Bounded Field an broke me," you answered as you looked down your hands.

"The politician?" Medb's eyes widened before looking at Scathach, "What's your angle here?"

"I'm merely an advisor on my own mission. It's the sole reason I am here and away from my realm," Scathach answered as she met the Queen of Connacht's gaze, "But as of the moment I am allied with the man whom had trapped Brie before."

"Then do you know anything about it?" You asked her with a narrowed look.

"Frankly, no. Hans keeps his cards close to his chest. His plans, his Servant and even his Magecraft but he was the one who approached me into coming here," The Witch replied as she leaned back on her seat, "I merely guessed you were a random Master but to think this intrigue would go this deep..."

"So this Hans is the enemy then?" Medb asked you from the side.

"Not yet... But he does know a lot more than I do. Fighting him is inevitable until we can clear the city out of the vampires first," you said as you brought your hands together.

Rider glared at the Spearwoman on the other chair, "Why teach Brie? You had no reason to do so even if she was a random Master."

"I don't teach without seeing potential in others. She has some but it would take years to cultivate it... That potential will be enough to keep you two alive," Scathach replied as she smiled and crossed her legs, "You seem to have grown attached already, Eternal Lady. No doubt you would wage war for her too should she belong to someone else?"

Medb tensed up and grew red, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Scathach turned to you and nodded, "Again allow me to say it, I am impressed."

"Uh, thanks?" You blinked before Medb shot up her feet and grabbed your hand, "Whoa, hey!"

"We're leaving," Medb growled as she pulled you along, "Can't stand that old lady."

"That's the first time I've seen you make that face," Scathach said while she remained seated, "You could use making it more. You look more like a Queen with that than a spoiled brat."

Rider simply tightened her grip on you hand and dragged you outside. You walked through the snow and found one of Medb's bulls waiting in the cold. It shook off snow from its fur before turning to look at you and it's master.

"You really dislike her, huh?" You managed to say before Rider stopped before her bull.

"I'm not good with her. I also don't like seeing her stupid spear," Rider said as she glanced at you, "She's annoying. She presses all my buttons. I can't deal with that Old Hag and her lectures, thinking she's so better than me."

"Rider..." You murmured and she paused just as she was about to get up her bull.

"What? We need to go home," Rider growled as she turned your way.

"She did say I met the man who made me this way... And he told me to back out of the war," you told her in a calm tone. You held your hand on your chest as you continued, "He said my life would be spared that way."

"So... Are you going to heed his advice?" Rider asked as she frowned. Her amber eyes had a strange glint in them as she seemed to keep you pinned where you stood.

Snow began to fall from the sky.

Just like Gil and Enkidu!
Medb: Well Brie, I believe we have grown close enough where we can even best the very king of heroes and his companion in their favorite sport...
Brie: I'm afraid to as-
Medb: Naked oily wrestling!

Well...that certainly is a thing.

We've come too far to back down now. It doesn't matter that we're a Doll, it doesn't matter that we have no real stake in this. We want to live, and we want to hold up our end of the bargain. For now, that's enough. The future can be dealt with in the future

We're not in this for her wish. We're in this for HER, specifically.

The smart thing to do would be to forfeit and walk away from this war. You could always just walk to Kotomine and just end it there but it wasn't that simple. Medb had a dumb wish. It was stupid and you weren't going to mince words about it but it was her wish. It was something she held that she decided that was worth fighting and dying for.

It was also romantic in a sense to be loved by men from past, present and future. A simple and selfish wish to be loved and desired by a brave and superb warrior of great strength and renown. She fought for love first and foremost and it was something you grew to appreciate. If you gave up now, you would be crushing her wish under your heel.

Master or not, she would stop you. She was prepared to fight for it otherwise she wouldn't have answered your call. A call that was made without an altar, offering or incantation, just the two of you connecting from the distant fabric of time and space.

You had your answer. This war was stupid and you wanted nothing to do with it. But if it's to grant a selfish woman her selfish wish, then you'd jump in even if you were scared. After all, she was the closest person you could truly call a friend. She was selfish, lustful and driven by her instincts but she was also kind, brave and clever.

If you're doing anything it'd be for her sake.

She was your partner.

Your answer should be obvious...

"We're in this together, Rider. This doesn't change anything in the slightest," you declared as you met her gaze, "So you better watch my back because I got yours."

Rider's eyes widened at that before her expression relaxed into that of relief, "But of course. I wouldn't expect any less from you."

"It seems like the two of you have gained a better bond," Scathach said as she leaned on her doorframe, "Good. Because in this war there's only the two of you. Enemies are all around you two and they have their eyes on you now. Hiding away will no longer be enough. You're up against grand foes, use your combined strengths to win... And you might just survive."

"Didn't I say I didn't want to be lectured by you, old Hag?!" Medb huffed as she got on her Bull and pulled you up, "We'll make it somehow. Even if we have to put you on the dirt!"

"I'm not my student, Queen of Connacht. I won't lose to you or what army you conjure," the Witch smirked as she glanced your way, "Brie, the next time we meet, there's a possibility we may fight. Good luck."

"Yes. Let's go, Rider," you ordered as Rider smiled and kicked her bull. The bull jumped off the ground and took flight while you held on to Rider's shoulders.

Scathach's cabin grew smaller and smaller before the bull shot forward towards the city.

"I just hope you can repeat the same feat, Medb. Setanta isn't the same as before," Scathach whispered as she crossed her arms watching the streak of light escape from her vision.

.....
....

You were back at the city but this time you and Medb took the time to descend from a really tall building she decided to land on. You were thankful for the elevator because you wouldn't have survived walking down the stairs to the streets.

"Can't believe that was Scathach," you whined as you walked by Medb's side.

"Well believe it now. Annoying as it is, she's here. She normally doesn't leave the Land of Shadows because she's like Ohhh, I'm too good for the outside world, look at me I have a bodysuit most of the time," Medb scoffed in a mocking tone.

"I mean, some people are into that. She definitely has the curves for it," you shrugged before you added, "Not that I care."

"Well you better! I'm way better than her!" Medb huffed as she crossed her arms.

"Maybe she beat Cu Chulainn so hard it messed up his eyesight when it came to you," You suggested with a raised eyebrow.

"Then it's still her fault Cu-chan won't love me!" Medb whined as she stomped the ground.

"In any case, I think dwelling in it isn't so good," you sighed as you placed your hands in your pockets.

The two of you turned the corner to get to the apartment you were staying at only to find that it was burning. You and Medb stared at the fire as the firetrucks came sliding in from the side as people rushed out the building.

"Well now..." You murmured.

.....
....
...

"So your hideout burned down and now you have no place to go," Kotomine said as he crossed his arms with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah pretty much. It's only for the night plus we might get jumped by some spooky vampires," you replied as you sat in the church pew.

"Yes I get that and the Executioners are working hard finding them too with Shirou Emiya however can't to two just... I don't know, find a motel?" Kotomine suggested with a frown.

Rider leaned on her seat and huffed, "Isn't this place all about being generous to the needy?"

"Yes well I just don't think it's okay. I mean we're supposed to be big on neutrality here," Kotomine said as he sighed.

"You still owe me a command seal," you reminded him with a narrowed look.

"Gak! I-I well... Ruler already lectured me about that. She said it was pending on whether to give you one. She says that a vision from the Lord would decide if it's the right move," Kotomine said as he lowered his voice.

Medb snorted from the side, "Sheesh, Holy Women."

"Just let us stay here for the night. We already bought dinner for ourselves," you told him as you kicked your bags.

"Mmm. Fine. One night... Provided Rider doesn't do anything to the priests," Kotomine said with a narrowed look.

"What do you take me for?!" Medb squawked in offense.

"Pelvic Destroyer," You chimed in.

"Succubus in Heat," Kotomine replied while looking to the side.

"You're both horrible," Medb griped as she crossed her arms. She got up and stretched before saying, "I'm going for a walk."

"Try not to leave the Wards. And do not bother the Executioners," Kotomine called before she vanished. He sighed before shrugging, "Well I still have to prepare for Sunday Mass."

"You do that. I'll visit if anything comes up," you said as he walked away.

Now you were truly alone in a big church. You never imagined you'd stay here...

You were starting to doze off. This was a tiring day after all... You just had enough energy for one more thing. You wondered how everyone was doing...

The Here and Now
[] Go find Medb and see how she's doing. And just maybe... Hang out for a bit.
[] Visit Kotomine and confide in what happened today.
[] Ruler should be at the Soup Kitchen now. Maybe you can help her out.
[] You should contact Mr. Emiya. He might be alarmed to notice that your apartment burned.
[] You're tired. You're going to collapse soon. You decided to just go to sleep...

[X] Go find Medb and see how she's doing. And just maybe... Hang out for a bit.

Let's take after Medb and be selfish for a bit. That's what Brie seems to like about her.

[X] You should contact Mr. Emiya. He might be alarmed to notice that your apartment burned.

I think we need to contact our ally to tell him the bad news. Also, he might have better defences around his base than we did on ours.
