[X] "I'm... Brie."

Awesome Quest. My goal for it is a big damn romantic kiss with Medb.

[X] "I'm... Brie."

Mental degradation sounds bad, to say the least, but keeping a good relationship with Sarah and maybe finding some hints to what in the hells is even Brie would be worth it.

Maybe. Hopefully.

[] "I'm... Brie."

Your mind was racing as you found yourself in this sort of situation. You hesitated but he still held his hand out for you. He was familiar but your mind couldn't place his appearance anywhere in your head. Brother, that was what the voice in your head called him. Then was it true that you were related somehow?

You wanted to leave. Something inside you wanted to run away, something inside you wanted to get up and hug him, but you held it back. The feeling was quashed however by... something inside you. Like someone had a remote control and just muted those feelings even when they were there.

This man was your key in knowing who you were but confronting him now wasn't on the table. Not when Sarah and that bodyguard were here. Even if you summoned Medb here, there's no telling what they could do.

The runes in the cabin had been deactivated but you were still in danger, you were still in their mercy. If Sarah was a Servant then Derrinsmith was her most likely master. You haven't figured out her identity yet so you're still in the dark. You had to navigate through this meeting and hopefully they won't confront you on being a Master...

God, your Command Seals were stinging something fierce... Your eyes looked down on his hand and noted that he didn't have Command Seals at the back of his palm. Was he a Master or not?

Reaching out to his hand, you held him firmly before shaking, "I'm... Brie."

"Nice to meet you," Hans said as he let go and turned to Sarah, "You've gotten an interesting friend."

"Indeed. We were just finishing our meals before you came. Unfortunately coffee will be the only thing available," Sarah said before she glanced at the man behind Hans, "Cedric, feel free to get Hans his coffee."

"Of course, if you'll excuse me please," Cedric said as he walked past Sarah.

"Well then, I'll be taking my seat here," Hans said as he sat down to your right at the foot of the table, "It's been a long drive. Fish, huh? Did you honestly drag the poor girl out there to fish?"

"It's fine. I had fun... And as Sarah said, it built tolerance for the cold," You replied with a nod.

"You could use the exercise as well, boy. Your office could use you being out of it for longer," Sarah added as she crossed her arms, "Training would do your body good and keep you from being blown by a strong breeze."

"Unfortunately I am a busy man. There's much to do in a city on the brink of chaos every other day. Balancing the campaign and managing my own job is rather taxing. You've seen how it is, Sarah," Hans smiled as he placed his hands on the table. He turned his gaze to you, "Well then, this discussion may seem boring to you, Miss. I apologize for that."

"It's fine really," you replied as you shook your head, "Beats being trained hardcore for an hour."

"So she's already done it. Sarah," Hans sighed with a heavy tone.

"I will not apologize," Sarah said before she walked back to her seat, "She's performed well enough but still not within my standards."

"You mean there's more?" You asked with a wheeze.

"You haven't seen anything yet," Sarah said before glancing at Hans, "Boy, you'd best be not skipping your own tasks."

"Of course not," Hans replied with a gentle smile. He then turned to you and said, "Sarah had been mentioning you to me for a bit. A girl in a police station fiddling with guns in a shooting range. It sounded rather novel."

"Yes I just happened to have... Time to kill then. But then I met Sarah and things just went on," you replied with a nod.

"I see. Say, are you perhaps a student in the city?" Hans asked as he leaned back. He placed his cane on his lap before putting his hands on the table, "Which school are you attending?"

"N-None, actually. I was denied entrance due to some circumstances... So I'm on vacation for now alongside my roommate," you replied as you lied through your teeth.

"Oh that's a shame. Well, Sarah here is a good teacher but I doubt the things she teaches would be of use," Hans said with the same friendly tone.

"I teach what I could and I think the girl enjoys it to an extent. She is rough, if you get what I mean," Sarah chimed in on the side.

You stared at the man before you as you felt something creeping inside you. A tiny voice but it wasn't like the one before. The longer you stayed in his presence you felt that twinge grow into something stronger and uglier.

You're not sure how to describe it.

Cedric, the tall dark man walked back into view with a cup of coffee. He set it by his Boss's side before you found the positions strange. You were mostly on a side of your own while Sarah, Cedric and Hans were all on one side of the table, their eyes scrutinizing you without making it too noticeable.

This really let your situation sink down on you more than ever.

"Well I do hope you enjoy your time in the city. Oh and if you can put a good word in for me in your social media, it would be fantastic," Hans said as he smiled your way.

"I don't really have one, to be honest. It's not really my thing," you answered as you waved your hand awkwardly.

"Is it not? Well these days people use social media as way of being heard and expressing themselves. Views and opinions are laid bare and judged, in which people's thoughts could be known," Hans said as he leaned back on his chair while letting his coffee cool, "It's a place where you can communicate with people on the same wavelength as you do and it's been helpful in reaching out to the masses that way than normal campaigns."

"I've never had much interest on it to be honest," you replied as you shook your head, "Though I can see its merits it's not for me. Though I would put a good word in for you for people I know. I'm still relatively new in the city so I'm unfamiliar with a lot of things."

"I see. Well I was just rambling. If anything, I just want to people's voices to be heard. Especially you, you seem to have much to say," Hans said with the same friendly smile and airy demeanor.

Your Command Seals were burning hard now but you endured it. The moment passed and the stinging faded.

"I'm rather shy so that's off the table for me," you answered with a polite nod.

"Well some things couldn't be helped," Hans sighed as he looked to the side, "I feel for you though."

"To be honest I think it is a waste of time," Sarah said as she huffed.

"Still... Sometimes you can make a difference just by being heard. I don't believe that's a waste of time at all, Sarah," Hans said before he raised his hand, "Cedric, take a photo of me and Brie. Put it up the Twitter afterwards."

"It would be good for your supporters to see you interacting with the masses, sir," Cedric replied in a deep baritone as he pulled out his phone.

"Wait, hold on is this okay?" You blinked as your eyes widened.

"Worry not, you're as pretty as a Doll, people will love you," Hans said as he smiled for the camera.

You had enough time to make an awkward smile before a click was heard.

Hans relaxed as Cedric stowed away the phone. Sarah seemed relatively annoyed by this and shook her head before standing up.

"I will go get some air for now," Sarah said as she excused herself. She walked to the back door and left you in the dining room.

Cedric checked his watch before leaning down Hans' side. The man then bowed your way and walked out of the front door.

"It's almost time for me to go. It was good meeting you. I hope we can see each other again. Cedric's just starting the car outside," Hans said as he tapped his cane on the ground. His blue eyes met your orange ones as he kept that friendly smile.

"I see. I hope you have a safe trip then, Mr. Derrinsmith," you replied with a nod.

"Yes. If we do meet, would you like to have some coffee together?" He asked as he leaned on his cane.

"On the off chance. I suppose?" You managed to say as the feeling of needles piercing your heart filled your mind. You endured it as you started to see letters in your vision.

Hans took out a card and set it on the table, "Here. You can contact me there. I'll see you Miss Brie."

{Secondary Objective: Kill the Blood Traitor}

Your vision blurred before you blinked and the text vanished. Hans was giving you an odd look while you gripped the table so hard that a piece of it snapped between your fingers.

"Hey. Are you okay?" Hans asked in concern as he moved to approach you. Your began to beat fast again.

You grabbed his hand and held it. It was warm... Brother.

You could easily snap it if you reinforce your-

No.

"Miss Brie?" Hans asked as he didn't resist your touch.

Nothing at all. Certainly not something that could lead to mental degradation.

Oh dear. We already knew that we are a weapon or tool of some sort, looks like one of our objectives is to kill... probably this guy. Who knows what we are, there's no way he used the term Doll accidentally, not after that's what the vampires called us. So close to some answers...

To be honest, now that I'm more awake I'm pretty curious.

About Scathach and if she could give us access to our abilities without making our programming take over.

Those Primordial Runes are a special kind of bullshit afterall.

He probably figured out she's a Doll that's probably created by the Ainsworths, since they do that kind of stuff after all.

The Derrinsmith family was known for being magical sculptors, which sounds one step away from creating dolls. Moreover, a secondary directive is to kill blood traitor and we have a odd distaste for Hans, so I'm guessing we were made by the Derrinsmith family to compete in the HGW with a secondary objective of killing Hans.

Time to try to get more hints to break our programming before we go all "beep boop, terminating meat puppets."
