My plan includes 3 actions to improve our food production:From the text the next year will be extremely harsh and we have currently only food for 12 months while we gather enough for a further 6, add in the two we get from the Ents we have 8. A lack of food is a serious issue that I think is mostly ignored by many plans instead they all go for shinies.
I'm actually hoping that we might get a possibility to trade for horses and better cattle from the House of Marach, next turn if we do well with allying with them.herds will provide us with food and the skills needed to maintain them are also needed to raise horses.
1) While the chance is probably higher with Halbeth her modifier, it is still only a chance and will only increase the effectiveness. I would be surprised if it would be more than increasing the numbers of hunters, therefore I see this option as a good one to battle the upcoming food crisis in my mind but not the best one.My plan includes 3 actions to improve our food production:
[] The skilled hunters among your tribe are few. You send the most skilled to train the rest in tracking and stalking their prey. (Chance of increased hunter effectiveness)
--[] Halbeth
[] The Wise seek to travel to the Garden, to learn the lore of the ents.
-[] Balen
the entwives gardens seem like a good place to learn more about how to get more food.
and finaly:
[] You have seen the massive herds of the House of Marach, for you are not blind. You would have herds such as these. You begin attempting to increase the size of your people's herds.
herds will provide us with food and the skills needed to maintain them are also needed to raise horses.
I like this. Just change putting Baran on speaking with Marach, which doesn't need a leader action, to Greet Them, which does.[X] Plan Action Economy Development
[] The Old Ways: You tell Belen and the Wise to study the arts of the Valar themselves, and perhaps find a path that even the elves have not walked. (???)
--[] Belen
[] The Great Fear: The Defiance: Mayhap you cannot lift the shadow from their hearts, but you may be able to turn them against it. Your people did not give in for a dozen lifetimes of the Great Flight -- why should they succumb to fear now that it is ended. The Enemy has followed us here -- so what? The Enemy is master of the world -- so what? We will spit in his eye all the same, and go grinning to our deaths. (???)
--[] Baran
[] The Sons Of Fire: You ask the Feanorians to aid you in all your endeavors for the next year, to lend their wisdom and expertise to all your tasks. (The Ambarussa bonus is doubled next year, and applies to Diplomacy and Combat as well)
--[] Doesn't cost a leader action
The Words of the Wise: (One action not requiring a leader)
[] There are some among the Wise whose voices are deep and whose words cut the soul with their beauty. Their music is an echo of the First. (Chance of recruiting a bard leader)
--[] Belen
[] The Petty-Dwarves: Trade With Them: Your people remember the dwarves your ancient fathers met, a short and stout people with a love of coin. If their cousins are anything similar, they will value wealth over flinging dirt. (-1 Wealth)
--[] Belen
The Children of the Sun:
[] Greet Them: You send someone to welcome your cousins to the new land.
[] Gift Them: You send someone with a few elven trinkets as a gift. Beauty like this does not exist beyond the mountains. Hopefully they will be suitably impressed.
[] Speak With Marach: You invite the boisterous and golden-haired leader of the tall men to speak with you in your newly-built home
--[] Baran
The Hunters:
[] There are hunters of great skill and fame among their number, and a select few of these may grow greater still. (Chance of recruiting a Ranger or Warrior leader)
--[] Baran
[] You encourage the Hunters to get closer to the Elven visitors and learn their knowledge.
--[] Halbeth
General Leadership:
[] You have the youngest and most able men of the tribe gathered and armed. These will not hunt, but rather protect the people of your tribe when the men are away. (Hunters may be displeased)
[] You give extra rations to the hunters and the scouts, that the people may be better defended and protected in the days to come. (Requires an extra month of food)(Hunters are more effective)(Increase the influence of the Hunters)
[] You increase the number of hunters out on the plains, that you might gather more food this year. (Hunters gather more food)(Increased Hunter influence)(The tribe is less defended)
Though the days may be early yet, our people have too many critical tasks that must be handled in the short term to spare the time necessary to exploit the many opportunities available to us. We have a siege to join in 3 turns, and a Warrior leader will be best to train and lead those men, and a Bard leader can focus exclusively on Lore, instead of sending one of our only 3 leaders (Belen) to be unavailable without replacement. Additionally, improving the Influence of the Hunters equalizes the Influence we gave to the Wise, and mat grant us an additional action next turn as well.
Additionally, under General Leadership, we can prepare our hunters for the siege (food production to make up for warriors away) and our potentially unscrupulous neighbors by increasing their number and setting aside future warriors as well, before we leave the training and fighting to a future leader to repay our debt. The chance for conflict with the Petty-Dwarves and other Men shouldn't be underestimated either, so forming at a minimum a working relationship with them should be beneficial before we focus on them.
For those that desire at least a little bit of learning from the Feanorians, Halbeth already has a good relationship with them, and information exchange will benefit her own Legend as an Elf-Friend and our people as well. A good compromise in the short term before tasking a Bard for Lore.
With rerolls and bonuses from the two sons of Feanor, we have fairly good odds on everything we undertake this turn, so let it be on making our own path in the world as Children of the Sun. The ways of the Elves will never be truly suited for us. Grow strong as friends, and with guidance, but independent all the same.
Corrected my mistake.I like this. Just change putting Baran on speaking with Marach, which doesn't need a leader action, to Greet Them, which does.
We don't need an action point/Leader for Greet Them and Gift Them?I like this. Just change putting Baran on speaking with Marach, which doesn't need a leader action, to Greet Them, which does.
Greet Them, yes, which I advised, Gift Them, no.We don't need an action point/Leader for Greet Them and Gift Them?
I meant Meet Marach. Sorry.
"If the Enemy is master of the world, and even the mightiest have battled him and lost, then man has only a fool's hope.
But that is hope enough. It is hope enough to kindle the light of humanity, which burns brightest when immersed by the deepest shadows. It is hope enough to alloy with desperation, to forge unity, to draw forth the strength of the defiant.
If Man is to end, let us end in glory. Let us end screaming defiance against the storm, as we have each time it demanded we lie down and die. Let us end fighting for a world where the weak can laugh and live and smile. A kinder world. A better world. A more deserving world than one where only the strongest survive."
It's based off a thing from War of the Krork Quest on SB. Here's the exact place.
Yeah, and I'm especially interested in our potential to crit on generating a Hunter/warrior leader. +242 bonuses man...[X] Plan Action Economy Development
I really like this optimisation of our bonuses and picks the mystery box lore that I'm interested in.
You mean the min magic of 8 from the action we took? yeah right now we have some nice buffs on leader gen so maxing out leaders makes sense and with decent grace (min 7) we should have good XP gain.I was also looking at those Turn 3 bonuses for Bard leaders and thought to myself, "Why haven't we prioritized this if we want Lore so badly?" @EVA-Saiyajin
