[X] "Do I get a lawyer? Can I get Kyubey as my lawyer?"

I don't see running going anywhere but being beaten and then hauled away at best.

"Daaamn. She got away again," the gladiator girl groaned as she scratched her head.

"That's because you didn't set up to have her Immobilized. This is the fifth time, Ume!" The short girl with the green hair griped.

"Sorry, Chise! My bad!" Ume chuckled as she placed her hands together.
Yeah, I can just feel the effort they're putting in here. What a bunch of bitches.
Ayana ran her thumb across your cheek, "So pretty... Even in death. We're sent here not for the Assassin or Reika. We're here to pick up the GriefBorne you've been harboring. Please don't resist. We'll be taking in you for questioning."
Seeing as the whole 'Witchbomb' secret seems to be common knowledge, I'm not actually that surprised literally all of the MGs we've met are some degree of psychotic and retarded. It's almost certainly a combination of a coping mechanism and those can't being weeded out.

[X] "Do I get a lawyer? Can I get Kyubey as my lawyer?"

Snark to the end, darling. Snark to the end.

[x] "Do I get a lawyer? Can I get Kyubey as my lawyer?"
-[x] On second thoughts that took a lot out of you. Pass out.

God, I thought Kyoko was harsh but I'd prefer her over these any day of the week. Goes to show how much of an anomaly Mami is.

I need to see this

[X] "Do I get a lawyer? Can I get Kyubey as my lawyer?"

Bizarrely enough, the little tool is the only person we've met so far that I trust. At least with him I know what to expect.

Bah, and they're probably taking us off the case too. Today has not been one for grand accomplishments.

Oh right just remembered something.

[X] "Can I get something for the gunshot wound? It's not fun."

[X] "Do I get a lawyer? Can I get Kyubey as my lawyer?"

You hesitated as you shook the handcuff. It wasn't enchanted but you doubt that you could get one step before you're floored. You were tired and you didn't have the patience for that. Therefore you decided that it would be best if you just complied. Sai seemed to think so too as she gave you a rather pointed look.

You then glanced back at your captor and said, "Do I get a lawyer? Can I get Kyubey as my lawyer?"

"There will be no need for lawyers. You'll just be questioned on what transpired in this place," Ayana said as she pulled you along, "We'll have a rather interesting time together, Miss Yukina. Chise, Ume, get Miss Sai in her own car."

"Whatever, North," The gladiator girl replied as she patted Sai on the back, "Come on, Cow Girl. Let's get you comfy."

Sai shot you one last look before she complied with going to her car. You just hoped that you'll manage to weasel your way out of this one. You just wanted to sleep at this point but you didn't trust this Ayana girl not trying anything then.

You just had to put up with this farce.

You winced as you felt your wounds slowly close as you walked.

.....
....
...

The Kyoto Magical Girl Alliance was made up of five groups. The North, South, East, West, and Central groups, the last one being the highest in the hierarchy given it was where the Boss was located. Originally, these groups were nothing more than groups of magical girls fighting for territory but were united under the banner of the Boss a couple generations back.

The groups were given the ability to act on their own as long as they followed a strict set of rules and answered to Central's requests. The groups helped one another in defeating Witches cropping up on their respective borders and would conglomerate when an enemy force will attack.

The land of Kyoto was filled with Witches weak and strong. There were some powerful ones lurking beneath the earth considering that Kyoto was once a prosperous old city. There bound to be Witches at least a hundred years old sleeping dormant, just waiting to be prodded awake to cause disaster.

Which posed the problem between the Eastern and Western sides of the Magical Girl community. Tokyo was bustling and filled with people, Witches appeared everyday on every street corner but they were weak and seldom dangerous. Grief seeds were plentiful but with the number of girls in the area, it wasn't enough for them.

Which was why they eyed Kyoto for the possibility of high quality Grief Seeds just lying around that the local magical girls are too weak to exterminate. But the Osaka girls were having none of it and were willing to push back in the event of an invasion.

Expansion and conquest. It would turn into a bloody war as things went on.

Which was why the Named were created to keep invaders thinking twice of stepping in. Powerful magical girls lifted up from the many and given the task to lead others for their little systems to function properly. This was what the previous generation of Bosses had made.

However with the power vacuum of Captainless Central and the reckless actions of Reika Minami, Captain of the South, the organization was crumbling from within. Tokyo was no doubt gleeful at the news and would probably begin their march soon. A daunting idea given it was only a few days before Christmas.

Winter Break was a good time to mobilize every able body for an assault.

"And it's only going to get worse from here," Ayana said as she sat by your side.

It was a long drive and the girl was uncomfortably close to you. She was essentially leaning her head on your shoulder as she just upped and went to explain how the groups worked. You didn't ask for it and you weren't interested either, you just wanted to rest but she didn't shut up.

You couldn't make her shut up. She just ran her mouth off with no consideration to your state or thoughts. Eventually, you learned to tune her out. It took some effort but you managed to do it for all but ten seconds before she pinched your cheeks.

You winced before shooting her a surprised look.

"I thought you weren't listening. Well, I wouldn't blame you. Your ears must be rotten or something," Ayana said as she crossed her arms.

"I was trying to ignore you," You replied with a nod.

"Well aren't you honest. Still, key word is try. So what do you think?" Ayana asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Of the overall crumbling state of your organization? I'd say that the Assassin is only hastening the process," you said as you grimaced. Crossing your arms you then pointed out, "Still, even if that is the case then the culprits responsible for the deaths of two of your members will be identified and caught. It will provide some semblance of reassurance and stave off further damage despite everything."

"You seem particularly confident. And from what I heard from the reports, you only woke up again. I wouldn't expect less from you," Ayana shrugged with a shake of her head.

"I have my doubts that this is all necessary. Or did you perhaps decide on your own that taking me in was the best course of action," you guessed while observing her.

"It's to appease our members more than anything. Nothing ever good happens with a GriefBorne around," Ayana said as she crossed her legs, "It's also to keep prying eyes satisfied. You are a treaty violation so we have to handle you with care."

"You've done a splendid job so far," you replied in the driest tone you can muster.

"That may be. But you know the situation. We're busy too. Don't worry, I won't be calling for your execution," Ayana said with a small smile.

"And why is that?" You asked with a frown.

"Because you're more useful alive than dead," Ayana hummed as she crossed her arms and winked at you, "I'm not backwards like Reika is."

"You seem to have a history with me," you pointed out with a frown.

"Well... I'd say we had a very intimate relationship," Ayana chuckled with a low purr.

You frowned before grabbing her hand and looking into her memori-

NOPE

You jerked away from her and gasped. You felt for your chest as you felt the Grief Seed burn. You stared at Ayana as she smiled at you from the side.

"I suggest you behave yourself," the Captain of the North advised as she tapped your cheek, "I'd hate to ruin your pretty face."

"What was... That?" You growled as you tried stabilizing Lachesis. The Seed squirmed in... Fear?

"That's a secret. Another advice, don't look into the minds of powerful magical girls. You'll find yourself burned more often than not," Ayana smiled as she looked ahead.

You were coming up on a mansion up ahead.

.....
....
...

You weren't held for long. You were pushed towards the oriental mansion as groups of magical girl lined up in wait. You were still cuffed before Ayana pulled you forward with a chain attached to your hands. You shuffled forward and noticed the many curses and grief that clung to each magical girl.

You kept walking as the doors opened to reveal the lobby of the mansion. Compared to the eastern exterior design, the interior was more of the western taste. Carpeted floors and lacquered wooden rails for the dual staircases leading to the second floor.

You were led upwards as you were soon shoved into a room. Ayana waved at you goodbye before shutting the door. Looking around, you found Sai and Reika on opposite sides of the room.

"Yukina. Buddy. Take a seat. We'll be here for awhile," Sai said before glancing at you, "Oh and you can break the cuffs."

You broke then and started taking them off from your wrist. You glanced at Reika to find that she was just sitting there in the corner under the gloom. You noticed that her gem had been cleansed to acceptable level but darkness still bubbled within her.

Sai was doing fine in comparison as she just looked bummed out more than anything.

"Where's Yuri?" You asked with a frown.

"They're deciding whether they're going to kill her or not. They were just waiting for Ayana to come so everyone will be present," Sai said as she leaned back on the wall.

"But if she confesses, would they be amenable to giving her a lighter punishment?" You asked with a frown.

"If it were up to the Boss solely, yes. But the other Named would no doubt have some words to say," Sai replied in a grim tone.

You blinked and walked up to her, "She's 14. She's just a little girl, she didn't know what she was doing."

"And it's exactly because of that they can't just smash her gem and be done with it," Reika rasped from the side, "It's why there's some hefty deliberation to be done not only from the Named but also veterans. After all, her actions may very well have Osaka under the crosshairs of every magical girl organization in not just Japan but the whole world."

"GriefBornes. If only those idiots in Asunaro hadn't succeeded then... Sorry, Yuki... I really am," Sai breathed as she shook her head. She met your gaze and shrugged, "We still have time before it's our turn. Just rest up. You don't want your Seeds to hatch now, huh?"

----[Q] Trick question. Steel. Because steel is heavier than feathers.

Let's consult our lawyer.

-[X] Ask for his experience in being a Magical Girl Lawyer. He knows contracts.

[X] Talk to Sai...
-[X] She had said that the Assassin turned magical girls into witches, and after what we saw earlier it's not hard to guess exactly how she'd done it. But she also implied that wasn't what happened with Yukina. So, how did Yukina die?

Tying up that loose end. Though no small part of me wants to fill this place with grief.

-[X] Any tips when it's finally our turn? Do's and Dont's?
--[X] You kept mentioning Boss, do I know this Boss well or is that information not privy to me?
---[X] Try to get some rest afterwards.

Reika is too emotional to talk amicably after seeing her witch and fighting us (the dead person she once admired), best to leave her alone for now until a later date.
