Congregation of Despair (Mafia - Second Attempt)

Just saying, but Dovah and 1K get massive sus from me for trying this shit right at the end.

Day 2 Ends: Boktor Blaze | Night 2 Starts, Ends EST 6/29/2019
The group begins deliberations as hands are pointed this way and that way, soon the focus falls upon a trio of individuals and what they've done during the intermission. Amid some startling claims and givings of information the group finally seems to reach a consensus and verbally looks elsewhere among the congregation for the most suspect. Some seem to focus on the behavior, others look at the quiet ones...one of which is exceptionally quiet. After intense discussions the group's discussion grows aggravated, frantic, seductive, and many other adjectives as the members attempt every bit of persuasion they have to the rest of the group but finally the group turns towards one individual and begin to approach them with torches held in front as they back up into a corner of the room, making one final statement before they are set upon by the fires, some members now not as skittish as before and holding the torch against the accused body as their screams silence any other discussion of the room. The body stops thrashing, the smell of scorched flesh offends everyone's noses once more as the veiled identity of the accused becomes clear to all, even through the hideous burns marking them.

@Absum has been Roasted Alive by the Court, They were Natalia, Duchess of Boktor.

The group backs up, seeing the once proud Duchess another corpse within the wing of the building. As two members silently move forward to collect the newly dead everyone else agree's to reconvene back here in an hour or so, look for more clues. Some members have already started to leave, too disappointed or frustrated by the affairs, or maybe they've gone to mourne or plot? Nobody can tell for sure...and so the night continues.

@Swarmingu has been Replaced. They will be replaced with Either @Terrabrand or @AlphaDelta once both of them get back to me. For now refer to Swarmingu as Player 14 privately this night until I make the announcement of who will be stepping in.

Night 2 has begun. It will end naturally in 48 Hours or once All night actions are received. It will end naturally at 2:15PM EST 6/29/2019
'--Depending on how long it takes for the replacement to arrive this night might be extended, however do not plan on that being the case.

Watch your backs out there...

Wow roasting me even though I'm so old. My meat's way too tough to taste good. Kids don't even know how to pick proper ingredients these days smdh.

Night 2 Ends: Queen's fall. | Day 3 Begins: Ends
As the group all gathers once again in the dining room they look around at each other only to notice that once again...they have members of their ranks missing. All it takes is two people starting to head into the halls for the entire congregation to follow suit looking for the missing members. It takes starting to have to check room to room to find...the ghastly site of yet another murder.

The body lies face-down in a pool of blood that seems unnaturally large, wearing the finest of dresses despite the blood seeped into it. One brave soul walks forward and turns the woman over...only to jump back in surprise and drop the torch upon the corpses feet...everyone else takes a good step back as they realize just what they're dealing with...even as the body immedietely turns into an inferno the features they saw just before are unmistakable...with an obvious cut across their throat and a hilt of a knife sticking out of where there heart should be was the Queen herself...that is if the queen had monsterous blood-red eyes and fangs that could tear flesh from bone...not to mention the instantaneous combustion as the torch touched her eternally dead body...

@DimensionalGuy has been found with their [Heart Stabbed and Throat Slit]. They were Laine, Queen of Xalistra and quite obviously a Vampire

As they had been ignited they are just as fast only a pile of ash in the center of a ring of blood that didn't get burned away...their queen forever defiled and gone...once beloved then twisted into a dark abomination against life itself...the group shuffles wordlessly back to the dining hall...some muffled sobs heard within the congregation no one bothers to question who...all remember her for how she was...and dread what she has done in the last few hours. Soon though it doesn't take long for the accusations to begin...who could have done this to their queen!

The Congregation has reconvened once more....the struggle for life continues...will anyone make it out alive?

Day 3 has begun. It will end in 72 Hours or when Hammer is achieved
'-> 9 Players remain alive, thus Hammer is set at 5 votes.
'-> Day 3 will end naturally at 9:40PM EST 7/1/2019

Good luck delegates...

This was largely posted yesterday and has been tweaked in context of the reveal. I want to touch on Absum's post, because it's the only pro-BB scum argument outside the vet one that has actually been thrown in my direction- and as I'll touch on I think DG's reveal makes that argument particularly suspect.

Broken Base: Up until her second to last post I would've said town, but I really don't like the entirely unnecessary putting someone 1 vote from lynch. I also didn't like her saying that she probably gonna lynch me or DG without really giving any reasons, previously, especially seeing as she kept it between me and DG even after she said she'd forgotten Dovah was in the game and calling them out. Not sure about actual scum read yet though.

I'll concede this hasn't been my best game overall, but let me elucidate on my exact reasons for suspecting Absum and DG- overall I find it incredibly plausible that cult is going to be in the background and incredibly floaty (and looks like I was right lol), because cult leaders don't want to draw attention to themselves, and DG and you had been among the floatiest players all game. Keep in mind that I did make something resembling an argument for DG- that everything that applied to you- floatiness and lack of content- applied to DG as well, probably better. They just had, in my opinion, a slightly better response to the pressure. I wasn't just blindly sheeping someone else's argument, I just was running out of steam and didn't want to do a detailed breakdown at the time. Perhaps I could have run up Dovah, but on a whole I'm thinking that their content is slightly less lacking than DG (or Absum)'s. Dovah has definitely been floaty and that warrants suspicion, but I don't feel like they've been the worst at it overall and thus I wasn't as inclined to vote for them. Pretty simple, in my opinion?

I'm not sure what to say about the L-1 thing. I explicitly said that anyone who was going to hammer should be lynched to disencentivize any "accidental hammers" and up to few a seconds before deadline absolutely nobody hammered Absum, so? Like, with the town reveal obviously I would have taken the Absum vote back and still voted for DG. But my suspicion of Absum for being a floaty player didn't just go away, especially since as I noted I liked DG's response and defense better than I liked Absum's.

The only other argument against me is the vet argument , which I've already responded to but only DG had cared and his response was "Going to suspect that a vet was culted anyway lol". Also, in my opinion, DG's response and pressure toward veterans imply to me that my sweet-spot argument was dead-on and cultists are among {1K, Dovah, Happerry} or thereabouts.

READS-

DG: Very floaty and hasn't necessarily contributed that much until they were under pressure. Could definitely be cult. (yaaaaay)
1K: That Nani wagon was suspicious as hell and I have no idea what to make of it, as was the end of day setting up a chainlynch ("Tomorrow we should lynch BB I'm not going to explain why but you know wink wink nudge nudge") I think that if not DG, 1K would be a good choice for a wagon. When I'm less depressed I can try and dig through all of 1K's posts and try to find the stuff I find suspicious, because her content is niggling at me, but I honestly can't get the emotional energy for that right now; my reads have been off like hell this game and I feel like shit about that. (Hey, remember that time she ferociously defended DG over town/scum colors? Or how the tossing things around she did at the end of the day could easily have been a tool to make sure the DG wagon was derailed? Peppridge Farm remembers.)
Nani: Definitely worth keeping an eye on and having results checked for consistency, but watcher, not cult leader.
Nictis: Always read as town, and that's no different this game.
Happery: Definitely also on the cult shortlist; they tend to not necessarily rock the boat aside from that QTesseract vote at the end of the day, which does read like it could be genuine conviction, and overall they are producing a bit more content than I remembered them producing; the issue of going by memory on this! Overall I'd mark them as less likely cult than 1K or DG... maybe Dovah, but I want to take a closer look at Dovah's content first.
QT: Tracker, not cult leader, could be recruited though. Given that they have results I'm not sure how likely it was they were recuited on N1 though, and wouldn't have been my culting choice. Anybody else want to estimate their own probabilities on that?
Dovah: I honestly can't get motivated to dig through all their posts right now; I honestly don't remember a lot of their content which isn't necessarily a good sign; anybody with more motivation to make epic-length cases want to take a look at Dovah and give me some help in working through my problems with them?
BB: Not playing at her best, but town.
Terra: No real read, subject to change.
Oshha: Has honestly been playing pretty pro-town for a newbie? Been active, pushing players, asking questions, when I asked them to get their vote off a useless avenue they quickly obliged, and just in general I'm not seeing much that is genuinely suspect about them.

So, you know, this is probably lynch-or-lose in terms of cult, which is great. Nobody vote please. I wish that could give me a slight shot in the arm but it... kinda isn't? I wish this lethargy had hit on another game, to be honest. Anyway, at the moment I want to lynch from a {1K, DG, Happerry, Dovah} pool- now that DG has flipped scum this is slightly more tentative- and I will try and make strictly speaking arguments for this by tomorrow night, even if I'm deeply demotivated to go through all of their content right now, especially with people suspecting me more or less because I'm a veteran and providing no other reason. I'll try and push through that. I'm glad Terra is in the game now, hopefully he can give some fresh insight and give me stuff to bounce off of.

AND HOLD THE PHONE BECAUSE NOTHING FEELS BETTER THAN BEING AT LEAST PARTIALLY RIGHT AND SCUM BEING DEAD.

Let me dig into DG associations later. We've got a bit of forward momentum, let's make use of it!

Hey, here we go again. I'm thinking subfaction vig for the light blue killer, possibly with a mason if going the traditional route.

Also, that's one scum down. Wish they'd been active enough to give us more data, although I suppose I'm not really one to talk this game.

Pretty sure that it's going to be 1K, but I'll go ahead and do a dig on them @Broken Base later, about to have family guests arrive.

Cult probably isn't neutralized, but losing what is probably the cult leader has to hurt; I don't buy someone culting DG, so they're almost certainly starting cult or we have a newbie starter cult and they were the n1 pick. We have up to 2 extra people culted, and either 0 or 1 starting cultists; I'm leaning probably 2 total, and mafia probably also starts with 2, so there should be 5 ish humans left.
(Also it obviously isn't Lynch-or-lose now, just forgot to tweak that)
It could be, sans crossfire, I think.

QTesseract: Guarenteed Town
Oshha: Probable Town
Nanimani: Lean Town
Dovah: Lean Town
Happerry: Neutral Read
Nictis: lean Scum (Mafia)
BB: Lean Scum (Cult)
1kBestK: Probable Scum

Terrabrand: No read, highly possible that they're culted last night

[X] Lynch 1kBestK

Ah, nevermind, still recovering from largely not giving this game any attention. Light blue kill is essentially impossible to be Town of any sort since we already have a vig.

So hey I haven't had the time to do more than a cursory reread accounting for what role info I got in my PM.

My gut suspicions were Oshha, Dovah, and 1k personally going into the night, but Dovah claimed roleblocked openly which reduces, though does not eliminate, the chance they are scum of some sort, and Oshha made a credible roleclaim that means, if true, they at least weren't scum.

However, going into today my highest suspicion is actually...

[x] Lynch Broken Base

This might seem weird, and maybe we have a power claim that I've already forgotten about, but basically I suspect Broken Base of being our teal scum. I am fairly confident teal is scum, because of issues of seperate color etc, and it feels to me a bit too coincidental that Broken Base would want DimensionalGuy dead and then he would die to teal. I personally wasn't scum reading DimensionalGuy and they weren't who I woulda targeted as maf personally.

I'll try to assemble a Public Claims dealie later to be sure I'm not mixed up, but for now that is where my vote goes.

Yes, clearly I am super suspicious for... trying to change my vote off of someone who was town. I was beginning to doubt my first choice of Absum (correctly, as it so happens), and wanted to change my vote. How does this make me suspicious???

I was disabled by some sort of siren's song last night - it was flavored as me hearing music and falling asleep.

BB: Lean Scum (Cult)

1. Do you have any argument except the veteran argument I responded to and a probable cult leader was all-in on?
2. Why would I even start a wagon on DG in this context? How does that even make sense?

"separate color" wait do you mean the kill? Because I've said nothing about colors.

And friend, DG was perfectly open for a lynch. This is exactly why I wouldn't kill him! Why would I kill somebody with suspicious flavor when I'm openly the person that suspects them? I'd go for somebody I suspect that I'm not heavily suspicious of in-thread, and I'd especially not go "golly gee I suspect DG" when I'm killing DG anyway! That just draws further attention to myself and links myself to the DG kill for no reason! If you thought I was bad at Mafia, you could have just said so :V

Yes, clearly I am super suspicious for... trying to change my vote off of someone who was town.

You were tossing around a lot of shade at the end of day, at first jumping on me and then jumping on Nani, neither with a strong argument. Am I supposed to believe that it's a colossal coincidence that rather than jump on the second wagon, who just happens to have likely been a valuable member of the cult, you toss out shade on two players, neither of whom are likely to get lynched that day without much stronger support than you had at the time, and one is a watcher and one is somebody generally suspected to be null-town at worst and has been tossing out leads, generating conersation, and was also suspicious of DG? That looks like an accept to clothesline potentially valuable players due to the advantage of no other obvious suspects at deadline to me.

Also
I've been suspicious of Base for this entire game

While I can't say that you're lying here, I wouldn't presume to know your heart-of-hearts, it' s kind of interesting that you haven't been remotely suspicious of me, or at least voiced those suspicions, until right when deadline is looming and we don't have a good lynch target! The last time you said anything remotely suspicious regarding me was Day 1, and you, I didn't check this admittedly, conceded that argumnt as I recall.

Also this is kind of an interesting spin on your position on Absum when you also said this

Absum could be lying and they could be culted, so even if they were vanilla town that doesn't mean they aren't currently scum. I'm also following through so we actually kill someone because it's far too late to get another wagon going safely.
Absum could be lying and they could be culted, so even if they were vanilla town that doesn't mean they aren't currently scum.

You may have unvoted Absun, but if your position was that he was probably town, you have a rather unusual way of framing that.

Okay, the Nani one almost went through so I'll admit that part of the argument is weaker, but I'm not convinced you knew that when you started pushing it, and if Nani does get lynched, hey, watcher dead. Not seeing anything but upsides for the cult.

You may have unvoted Absun, but if your position was that he was probably town, you have a rather unusual way of framing that.
I said that and then changed my mind, obviously. People rebutted me saying they'd swung lynches in the last 30 minutes before, so I thought it wasn't unusual to change my vote late. People were also providing arguments for absum that I hadn't thought about, and I could feel my response to their arguments wasn't strong. 'They could be lying or cult' wasn't the greatest argument when you can pretty much make that for anybody. So, I changed my mind, and decided to go with my gut and try to vote for someone else - Naninami was suspicious to me and also had other people voting for them. I didn't want to vote for you yet because, as I said, I hadn't actually looked through your posting yet.

"separate color" wait do you mean the kill? Because I've said nothing about colors.

I am in this regard referring entirely to the probability that the teal color marks a third faction from vampires and us. We've now seen for sure that Vampires are not teal, and of course it is public information town is red even if I wasn't town.

The color being different would tend to imply a different wincon.

I'm betting, personally, a serial killer or two man maf for teal, probably serial killer as my gut based on game size and how maf and cult interact.

I really need to review more properly and take individual notes so I'm not so dependant on gutreads, but don't have time atm.

Also since I didn't touch on these earlier-

Cult probably isn't neutralized, but losing what is probably the cult leader has to hurt; I don't buy someone culting DG, so they're almost certainly starting cult or we have a newbie starter cult and they were the n1 pick.

Flavor, though I suppose we shouldn't go all-in on that, indicates that they were at least an original cultist, and probably a powerful one.

We have up to 2 extra people culted, and either 0 or 1 starting cultists; I'm leaning probably 2 total, and mafia probably also starts with 2, so there should be 5 ish humans left.

Eh, I'm slightly skeptical that we have a Mafia, to be honest. That seems really anti-town-slanted.

Anyway back to 1K. I'll concede that I had the timeline slightly mixed up there re: Absum, but that was a minor ancillary point and most of my argument still holds.

So, I changed my mind, and decided to go with my gut and try to vote for someone else - Naninami was suspicious to me and also had other people voting for them.

Why were you suspicious of Nani again? You never said.

I didn't want to vote for you yet because, as I said, I hadn't actually looked through your posting yet.

Why were you suspicious of me again? You never said. Also the thrust of my argument isn't that you never voted me, it's that this literally never even came up since Day 1 until suddenly we're close to deadline, DG is probably the player that isn't Absum on the chopping block, and Absum just claimed and the wagon could start to die down. I also am the only person aside from Absum who has any votes at the moment, so it's kind of interesting that this suspicion you never voiced until now just also happens to be on the main person against DG that could get traction until Nani suspicion came along.
