To make people actually remember, here's it once for posterity: Minako is nonbinary and uses they/them. This message will be pinned so you people stop getting it wrong and pissing me off. If you get it wrong in the future I'm going to be much less nice, considering you have to scroll past it just to read the quest.

[X] Train. Nothing rigorous. Just let them know that they're not alone, and if they're going to be a magi, then they have two of the best magi in japan ready to help them out.

I'm leaning towards this. It's something that their mothers can do, a way that they can reassure themselves that, even if everything's not going to be okay, they can still help their child?

Will takane and close allies be updated on the new newbie?

Trial by fire sounds like a bad idea until they can control their empathy powers better. This miiiiight help with that?

School sounds like a place where they would be surrounded by lots and lots of people they could empathize with all at once. Wonderful.

Though maybe it'll be easier for Minako to not empathize with people other than Kyouko and Sayaka, since they were the targets of the Wish.

Still, sounds like a bad idea.

Someone should probably tell Takane her datefriend contracted. Preferably with a Grief Seed handy to make sure she doesn't witch out, as she's close to figuring out the true horror of the system and thus what Mina's condemned themself to.

Minako needs Meguca 101, as a matter of priority. School isn't important. Hunting witches can wait until they're proficient with their weapon and have a good enough grasp of their power that they don't, for instance, get incapacitated by pointing empath-o-vision at a black hole of hate and despair.

Actually, eventually, Minako could benefit if they went to school... and used it as a way to practice being able to handle, sense, sort, etc large groups of people. It's not certain how their powers work *exactly*, but if they could expand it the right way it could become a sort of danger sense? Like, of hostile intent? In theory, at least.

There's no point in going on as if things are going to be the same - this is a big deal, and not at all a good thing. But it's not quite the end of the world, and moving into the new paradigm and seeing how things are going to be now (worse, but not unbearably so) is probably the best move.

In the long term, this is probably a good idea. In the short term, it's probably better to build up to crowds of that size, where they'll be surrounded and can't really leave.

Without training I am 100% uncomfortable with sending our child to the raw emotions of every single motherfucking teenager in Mitakihara city.

Also Takane will immediately realize what happened and that should not fucking happen at a school setting.

Also, Sayaka and Kyouko need to talk very soon—and well out of Minako's range—about how to break the witchbomb to them, because with their power, they will definitely find out soon, and it's much less dangerous to learn it from their parents in a controlled environment (with grief seeds nearby) than from ◕‿‿◕ or via empathy-delivered flashback in the middle of a witch fight or something.

Alternatively, Minako could learn it because Sayaka and Kyouko likely pity witches on some level, considering they are basically mercy killing them as former fallen meguca. Minako going why, and their power giving them a trippy dream vision thing wouldn't be that unexpected really.

I don't see how it's avoidable. I wonder if that is half the reason Minako being an empath is so extra worrying on the worry sundae that they are to their moms right now?

There's also spiraling. Okay, if someone an empath loves is hurting, they hurt as well. If that person cares for the empath back, they see the harm that is being done to the empath, and feel bad about it.

And of course, the empath feels bad about causing them yet more pain, but--

It's hardly inevitable, of course, yet it'd make sense.

I wouldn't really come up with plans on how to witchbomb them if I were in your place
I'm sure it will be suitably traumatic and everything

I'm not sure I understand your point. The goal is to minimize how traumatic the witchbomb is for Minako, given that it's probably impossible to keep them from knowing.

May be putting it bluntly, but Minako needs to learn now what they've gotten themselves into, and how badly they done goofed. More importantly, we need to find out what their baseline is ASAP so we know at what point we'll have to step in to help.

also i wanna see their costume and weapon dammit

Minako should get a grasp of their newfound super strength before it's safe for them to return to school.

お前はもう死んでいる

But yes, we also need them to get used to their lich-like strength so they don't have any World of Cardboard moments at school.

Ah, okay, I'm gonna explain
Unless I'm terribly misjudging the characters

Kyouko and Sayaka cannot Witchbomb people
At all
They haven't found a method to do it reliably and remotely safely
They can only manage to deal with consequences of when the Meguca figures it out
Sometimes

There was probably a Grief Spiral to reinforce this once they told someone
Otherwise
It doesn't make sense
Remember when Takane was asking Kyouko questions about Witches?

Her answer was "Don't fucking think about it."
That's not an answer of a person confident in the topic they can explain without their conversant curling into a foetal ball of despair and suffering
