It started years ago like most things start. With a baby shining like a light bulb in a Chinese hospital.

It's hard to imagine a world without Quirks. When more than 80% of the population has one, seeing towering giants covered in scales grocery shopping turns into the new norm. People still remember the world before quirks started to appear. The great wars that luckily came too early to benefit from these new abilities. The world went quiet, afraid to move and cause the final extinction of our race. "The end is near" signs that some people carried around started to look more ominous than funny once the bombs dropped. The war was over, but not the pain and suffering. That seemed like it would last forever. People really thought it was the end of times once countries started to create weapons of mass destruction for defense purposes.

That's when the baby that, like a torch in the dark, started a new era for humanity was born. It was an isolated case at first. Then two. Then a hundred. It expanded like a plague. Literally depending on who you ask. People scrambled to study the phenomenon. Trying to comprehend what was happening. Scientists watched the laws of reality slowly break in front of the eyes as more weird and powerful Quirks started to appear.

In the end the consensus was… a virus. A virus caused an alteration to human DNA and gave everyone the ability to acquire incredible powers. That explanation was the only one scientist managed to get. The origin of that virus is still a mystery even to the modern world. Some say you shouldn't disregard a gift like this. Others say nothing is free, we just don't know the cost yet.

Even having its detractors, Quirks proved extremely useful in the post-war world. Europe went back to a stable situation decades earlier than it should and the brewing war between USA and the USSR stopped, too busy dealing with their own problems.

Because when you give everyone a weapon, sooner or later someone will get hurt.

For every person helping the world, two were using their newfound powers in selfish ways. Criminals who would've been easily caught fifty years ago were now flying away or hiding in the shadows. The police and military had to change their tactics every day to account for a threat that could take almost any form. Some much more deadly than modern weaponry.

Things changed and laws were written, but with like any law written as a reaction to modern problems, people weren't happy. The new laws prohibited the use of any quirk outside special permits often only given to authorities. People felt like they were being too restricted, unable to use their own bodies in the way they want to. Some people were even prosecuted for having body altering quirks they couldn't control.

And of course criminals still used theirs, even if now they had to hide it a bit more.

Complains turned into protests, protests into riots, riots into chaos.

Most countries with a fully functioning government were in chaos. The change from a world where everyone was powerless to one where even one person could destroy a building was too sudden to adapt to it.

That's when superheroes first appeared.

Inspired by the American comics from the 40's, people started to dress in costumes to hide their identities and use their quirks without being thrown in prison. Unlike the criminals, they did this in order to help and protect the people. At first they were treated by the police as all other criminals using their quirks, but soon they realized that working with them would actually save society from chaos. Even with their own strong Quirk users (Some argue they actually should be considered the first superheroes) the police was overwhelmed by themselves.

With that, superheroes became a part of the police force. Most ending up working for the governments but others still working outside the law. Soon, little by little, the world started to feel more comfortable with the new superpowered humans and laws started to relax.

The Deputized Metaoficers (Name never stuck) didn't need to hide their identities anymore but, surprisingly, most decided to keep their "hero" persona. These heroes grew in popularity and often turned into celebrities. The fact that they were copying one of the most popular modern literally trends helped with that. That's when superheroes became real. Not when they started to fight crime hiding from the authorities but when entrepreneurs started to see the value in "Superheroes" as a product.

Merchandising, ads, product placement in their villain captures, brand endorsement… When the money started to flow into their pockets, the governments had to release the iron grip hold they had on superheroes, making them their own division separated from the police. They were now self-sufficient and legal as long as they followed strict rules about procedure in crisis. They were in charge of catching the villains the police wasn't equipped to handle. They also helped in crisis like natural disasters. They actual job was all of that and to look good doing it.

That's the sad reality of hero agencies, where popularity is king and the subsidy the government gives to heroes isn't enough to buy a Lamborghini.

But not everything fell prey to the luxuries of fame and wealth. Deep down even the greediest of heroes keeps doing their work diligently. They all share the same objective.

To protect the innocent.

…

You suddenly wake up. Blinking. The light of the sun coming from the window hurts your eyes. That was a weird dream. What time is it…? The textbook of modern history lies next to you in bed, open and full of little notes written the day before in preparation for…

for…

Oh, right. The test is today.

This quest uses three main stats (BODY, MIND, SOUL) and they determine how many dice you have to roll in any action. The higher the number the better you are at everything related with that stat. They usually go from 1 to 5, with 2 being the human average. With enough training you might reach 5, but going beyond that in a permanent way requires exceptional circumstances and it's extremely rare.

Having superpowers doesn't mean you will have a lot more dice. It just changes the DC of actions and the outcome. Two people might be tied in BODY, but if one of them has a physical enhancing Quirk then the other might be unable to win a fistfight.

BODY: Your control over your physique. Dexterity, Strength, constitution… Everything physical about you is controlled by this stat. The more you have the faster, stronger and healthier you are. Remember, a strong body isn't everything for a hero.

MIND: Your control over your mental capabilities. It determines your intelligence, memory, critical thinking, willpower… Smart heroes are the one that succeed the most, but even the best plans can fail.

SOUL: Your control over your connection to others. How they see you and how you see them. Charisma, teamwork, imagination… You can use SOUL instead of MIND/BODY in a battle where you are in a team, adapting to your teammates and supporting them. If magic was real this would be its stat, but it isn't… right?

Resistance/Weakness: Each character will have a resistance and a weakness to one of the three stats. Everyone has their own reason to be weak or resistant to one, but no one is neutral to everything. Having a weakness to a stat means that any action against you using that stat will have a +1 dice. Having a resistance means the action will have -1 dice.

DC: It determines the difficulty of any given dice roll. It varies wildly depending on the circumstances on the action and if it's a confrontation. Using the wrong stat for an action might increase the DC a lot, but using the right one will decrease it. Using tactics and well thought plans also helps lower the DC of any action.

Remember. Don't use BODY to fight All Might. The DC might be more than you can handle. Use your MIND.

Success/Failure: The outcome of an action is determined by how many rolls passed the DC. Only one pass means the action is a minor success while four dice beating the DC might mean a flawless action with an even better outcome that you imagined. Even if you only have one dice, you might succeed.

Failure occurs when none of your dice manage to hit the DC. Maybe the DC was too high, or you don't have enough dice.

100 and 1 are special cases. When you roll these numbers, they count as special dice. 100 means the dice gives you two successes instead of one while 1 means the dice gives you a -1 success (Instead of 0). A crit is when you get more successes than dice rolled (All pass and one 100 or more). A crit fail is when you roll less than 0 successes (All fail and one 1 or less.)

Confrontations: They are any roll-off between you and another character. The main type is combat, but it's not the only one. An argument, a game of chess or even a social interaction can turn into a confrontation if the stakes or difficulty are high enough.

When a confrontation starts, I will let you make a plan and decide on the stat you will be using to "attack". You can use any of them no matter the situation as long as it makes sense, but the DC will vary. You can use MIND in a fistfight, but the DC might be higher than using BODY. Think carefully about the situation and how many points you have in each stat. It might be worth it to risk a higher DC if it lets you roll three more dice.

Confrontations spend Energy quickly.

The base DC of a confrontation is 50.

Energy Points (EP): Everyone has 10EP. This represents the state of your body and mind. When it reaches 0 you can't do anything else at full capacity until you take a long rest. The main reason you might lose EP is in combat, receiving wounds, or getting tired from using your quirk. Reaching 0 doesn't mean your are unconscious, it just means you get the status [Fatigued] and will be highly susceptible to wounds if combat continues. You can consider reaching 0 as being defeated unless you really want to risk it and keep fighting.

Of course combat isn't the only way to lose EP. Anything that taxes the body or mind will reduce it. Training, studying, doing something really boring for hours… Even social ridicule might reduce it. Of course you will not receive physical wounds in some situations but you might receive mental ones.

Fatigued: When EP reaches 0 for any reason, you will be fatigued. This means you will be unable to push yourself without a risk until you can rest, you will also roll one less dice on all your stats (Minimum 1). Reaching 0 EP is not a problem, the [Fatigued] status is not too bad on itself, but if you keep pushing your body or mind you might get negative traits like [Wounded], [Badly Wounded], [Depressed], etc… These don't disappear with just a night of sleep and will reduce your dice even more until they disappear. There is a 50% chance of getting one of these negative traits every time you lose an EP once you reach 0. At -5 you collapse unconscious/catatonic even if you managed to not get a single wound.

  • Three main stats: BODY, MIND and SOUL.
  • They go from 1 to 5. More than 5 in special circumstances.
  • They determine the number of dice rolled for an action.
  • A weakness to a stat means a +1 dice to enemy rolls using it. A resistance means a -1.
  • DC is the target number for any dice to succeed.
  • You succeed in your action when at least one dice passes the DC. Each pass makes the success even better.
  • Rolling a 100 gives you two passes for the success. Rolling a 1 gives you a -1 pass.
  • A crit is when you have more successes than dice. A crit-fail is when you have -1 passes or less.
  • Confrontations are any roll-off between characters. They usually spend energy.
  • Everyone has 10 energy points and are spent as you strain your body or mind.
  • When you reach 0 you get the [Fatigued] status. It gives you a temporary -1 to all stats.
  • Every EP lost past 0 gives you a 50% chance of getting a more lasting negative effect or wound.

After spending months writing my Pokemon quest I realized that, little by little, I was starting to lose my inspiration. I think it's because I need to write something else at the same time. I can't just focus on one project for months without getting burned out. That's why I'm starting this quest.

I always wanted to write something about superheroes but never did. MHA might be the best setting to start and see how things go. I will still write my other quest at the same time, but now I will dedicate some time for this one.

I hope the mechanics are clear. If not, don't worry. They might change if they get too in the way of the story, but I think that this time I did a good job.

Now about the main character... I usually first think a personality and other stuff for the main character and start writing from there. This time I decided to let you customize it more. The final Mc will change based on what you choose in character creation. Personality, likes, interactions... The only fixed things are these. You are a 15 years old boy in his way to the test to enter UA. You have a big and little sister, both with telekinetic powers from your father. You have a childhood friend that will take the test with you.

Character creation will have three steps. Stat selection, Power and Motivation. I will give you some options for each vote and they will change depending on your stats. For now lets focus on the stat selection.

You will start with a 3-2-1 spread in your stats. One main stat that will receive the 3 points, one secondary that will get the 2 and the least voted one will stay at 1. All stats can be trained to get more points but it's not easy. They will shape your character the most. You will also need to decide on a weakness and resistance. Vote for your favorites and the ones with most votes will be chosen. Remember, you can have a weakness in your primary stat. Only means you are weak to actions using it. You might have high MIND and be weak to it, underestimating other people's intelligence.

Primary Stat:

[][PS]MIND
[][PS]SOUL

Secondary Stat:

Weakness:

[True to my bonds]: Family, friends… Your bonds are important to you. They are not just your power, they are what helps you move forward. Your reason to be a hero. This trait helps you raise any Bond quicker.

[Optimist]: You like having fun and you know that being sad is not fun at all. You always try to see the good side of things. This trait lets you ignore the first mental wound you suffer every confrontation.

[Emergency Healer]: You keep surprisingly calm in stressful situations where your friends get hurt, allowing you to apply first aid to anyone pretty effectively.

[Basic stealth training]: All your plans involving stealth have a +10 bonus to rolls. Enemies have a harder time ambushing you.

Bonds (lvl1): Your power is based on the bonds you have with others. Each person you befriend will give you a minor power that grows as your relationship deepens. Your power comes from your friends. In this case, literally. This also means that unless you are careful you might lose powers if you break someone's heart.

Each person added to your relationship gives you a minor power you can use in combat. At first it will be too small to use in combat but as you get more relationship levels, your control over that power grows. Once you reach relationship level 10 you get all the benefits that person gets from their power.

The strength of these powers is equivalent to your bond level and the control that person has over their own quirk.

The powers you get from this quirk are slightly modified versions of the originals, adapted to you.

You can only use one power at the same time, but you can change the used power instantly.

Bonds (lvl2): ???
Bonds (lvl3): ???

Telekinesis (Tatsuko Shinso. Rank 5/10): A modified version of your big sister's telekinesis. Less big in scope but with a greater degree of control. You can use your mind to move up to 500kg of material at the same time. You can't focus your power on more than ten objects but unlike your sister you have an easier time moving liquids around. Still can't handle gasses.

This power allows you to use MIND for physical combat with the same ease as using BODY. (No higher DC for not using BODY in melee) as long as you have object around to use.

Over exertion with this power causes mental wounds. You can cause a mental wound on purpose and multiply your telekinetic strength by 5 for a really short time.

Roar of the Dragon (Shirohime Braun. Rank 6/10): A weaker version of your friend Shirohime's quirk. It allows you to acquire some of the characteristics of a dragon. Your body grows red scales over your arms and torso that protect you slightly from damage and your strength increases. It also allows you to breathe fire.

This power gives you a +1 dice to BODY when activated. Your arms and legs get covered in green scales that protect you from some of the damage. The fire only reaches up to mid range and is hotter the closer to the source.

When in this transformation, cold water makes you slow and dizzy.

You can turn that +1 into a +2 by pushing the transformation further, but it will leave you [Fatigued] once the confrontation is over.

Mind's Eye (Katsuki Shinso. Rank 4/10): An even weaker version of the already weak quirk your little sister has. It allows you, with some focus, to predict the next action your opponent will take. It works by reading their subconscious and can be countered by a strong will (As long as they know what you are doing).

Outside of combat it allows you to read someone's emotions. It's not perfect but it's still useful.

This power gets rid of one of the enemy's successes when used as long as you can do something to counter their action.

Suggestion (Hitoshi Shinso. Rank 3/10): This power can be used while talking to someone. Is a lot less invasive than Hitoshi's quirk. It implants an idea in someone's mind and it lingers there much longer than it should. It has to be a phrase or word you said in the conversation.

Will appear in their mind randomly through the day and might last a week if you want.

If the objective recognizes that thought as not natural, they can try to get rid of it with a MIND roll each day (DC 50).

Magnetite (Chigusa Ito. Rank 1/10): Allows Daiki to create really weak magnetic fields from any part of his body. At this stage he can't do much more than simulate the magnetism of a weak magnet.

Propriety modification (Akane and Syouin Yamakage. Rank 2/10): Somehow the twins bond combined into a single power. This, allows Daiki to change the color of an object as long as he is touching it. It also allows him to slightly change the density of any material.

Resonation (Haruka Usami. Rank 3/10): Daiki's body can vibrate in a frequency that increases the regeneration of cells. His control is not good enough to heal others, but can destabilize bodies and materials, hurting them with a touch. His own wounds heal faster while this is active.

Refraction (Toru Hagakure. Rank 1/10): This power allows Daiki to protect his eyes from a fraction of light. He can use this power instead of sunglasses in sunny days.

Skin Hardening (Eijiro Kirishima. Rank 3/10): Daiki's skin can harden. It's slightly noticeable from the outside and will stop most normal cuts and bruises. Gives a slight boost to strength. Daiki has now enough control to use it in combat.

Acid (Mina Ashido. Rank 2/10): Daiki can coat himself in a slippery substance that it's slightly basic.

Forbidden fruit (Takeshi Himiko. Rank 2/10): Daiki's blood is now surprisingly tasty.

[Friends] Yin: Reach Social Rank 4 with Syouin.
Reward: When the mission [Yang] is also completed, Koga will be willing to train you.

Pro hero ranking tenth in the Japanese hero billboard chart. Extremely powerful and really popular. She is also your big sister and one of the people that inspires you the most to become a hero.

She was a prodigy all her life and made it to a good position just after getting her license. Now, her power could put her in the top five if it wasn't because of her lack of social skills. Her crass attitude and difficulty to work with others effectively makes her rank be lower than it should. A lot of heroes and villains fear her temper.

Even if she doesn't do stuff to increase her popularity in the eyes of the public, she still has a very dedicated fanbase… that she tries to avoid.

Her quirk makes her an asset in any disaster situation, being able to move a lot of mass around with only her mind. She prefers to use her powers in combat but will not refuse to help when people are in danger.

She is always on the defensive and is easy to anger. She is not easy to approach by strangers. At least she knows how to be calm and collected until someone pisses her off. You think this attitude comes from her looks. Most people don't take her seriously until she starts to launch buildings around, so that's what she does. She stopped growing once she learned to control her powers so now looks like a child.

Of course, she acts different with you and your sister. More like an overprotective older sister than the machine of destruction people see her as. She acts almost as a mother to you and your sister since your actual mother died years ago.

-Quirk-

Mass Telekinesis (lvl 3): Her quirk allows Tatsuko to unleash the full might of her mind. Her telekinesis allows her to lift hundreds of object at the same time. Her power is strong enough to lift a house, even if she has to strain herself to do it quickly.

The scale of her power is huge, but that makes fine control more difficult. Outside of combat she can use her power to simple tasks, but in combat she doesn't have the fine control needed to move small objects individually.

-Stats-

BODY: 2
MIND: 7
SOUL: 2

Weakness: SOUL
Resistance: MIND

-Hero Status-

Hero name: Destruction Hero: Hurricane
Ranking: 10
Fanbase: Medium. Mostly niche formed of fans of destruction, young girls or both.

Some people call her the "Deadly Pixie". Never say it in front of her.

Rel. Score: 5/10 (My little brother)

Thoughts about you:
  • Want's to be a hero? I will make sure it's as hard as possible for him. If he wants to take a risk like that then I will make sure he is ready.

Young girl that spends most of her time at home playing videogames. She is three years younger than you but a lot smarter. You think she is some kind of genius even if her grades aren't great.

She has almost no control over her quirk, and that makes her space out sometimes and forget what she was doing. Can't handle a place with too many people so you understand why she spends so much time in her room.

Like your older sister, she is snappy and easy to anger. She has been like this since your mom died. It happened at the same time her powers grew stronger and more out of control, so her mood started to sour as time passed. Even with all of this, you still love her and you KNOW she loves you back. She just isn't good at showing it.

Before everything happened, she wanted to be a hero. Like all the kids at her age.

-Quirk-

Mind's Eye (lvl 1): Her quirk allows her to read other people's minds. It's more a direct line of knowledge than actually reading their minds so there is no language barrier. She can even predict what someone will do next reading their subconscious, but needs to focus for that.

Her quirk can grow to be really powerful, but it seems like it grew too quickly too fast and now has no control over it. She is constantly reading the minds of everyone around her, and that made her despise society.

Doctors say the only solution is to wait. Her body will adapt with time.

-Stats-

BODY: 1
MIND: 3
SOUL: 1

Weakness: SOUL
Resistance: MIND

Rel. Score: 4/10 (My brother)

Thoughts about you:
  • He is nice to me. Sometimes too nice when I want to be left alone. One of the only three people I really like. His thoughts are always nice when he isn't sad.

Son of your father's brother. Your cousin. Like most of the Shinso family he has a power related to minds. His is a limited form of mind control.
His quirk is the core of who he is. Most people see his quirk as something villainous or something you should be afraid of, even if other quirks are much worse than his. This left him bitter and slightly manipulative. For some time, Daiki was his only friend.
He wants to be a hero to show everyone that his quirk can be used for good. He might not be the best in a physical fight but is smart enough to use a combination of tactics and his quirk to win any fight.
He sometimes struggles with how to use his quirk, having to control himself to not use it for selfish reasons.

-Quirk-

Brainwashing (lvl 1): His quirk allows Hitoshi to control the minds and actions of whomever answers when he asks a question. He can give any order he wants as long as it doesn't involve advanced brain functions.
This effect can last for some time and he can have more than one person under his brainwashing. Having too many people might leave him unconscious.
Using a megaphone, a microphone or any other tool that turns his voice into electronic signals will not allow his quirk to activate.

Rel. Score: 3/10 (My cousin. A friend I almost forgot I had.)

Thoughts about you:
  • He has no plan and is too naive... But for some reason I think he will succeed... I will try my best too.

Your father. He is a famous architect that likes to oversee his constructions in person so he spends most of his time in other countries. Specially since your mother died. He visits a couple of times each year, but you would prefer if he didn't. At least he treats your sisters like his children.

-Quirk-

Mind's Eye: You don't know much about your father's quirk. Never asked about it. You only know it's similar to Katsuki's. He never uses it, so it's probably not even trained. At least he doesn't have the same control problems she has.

Rel. Score: -3/10 (My offspring)

Thoughts about you:
"Daiki… I want you to know that what happened was your fault. No amount of denial can get rid of the truth."

Best Friends (5 to 7)

Loud energetic girl and future pro hero. She is your best friend. She is the only one that still stays close to you after you hid from the world. Sometimes you think she only did it because she felt responsible for your mother's death. She shouldn't, but no matter why she stuck with you, the important part is that she is your best friend.

You spent most of your time in the last couple years together. She is almost part of the family. Even your little sister likes her, and that's rare. Your big sister would probably destroy a couple buildings to protect her too.

Unlike you, she is energetic to the point of getting exhausted just watching her. Her grades were some of the worst in your class, but she passed thanks to you and your infinite patience teaching her.

Some would think that you have nothing in common but your taste in videogames and how important are bonds to you two made it so the friendship would last.

After trying for months, she managed to convince you to join her taking the UA test. You are even excited about being a hero, even if what you really want is to have friends again.

She is only half Japanese, her father is from Germany. He came to Japan for work and went back there after Shirohime's mom decided to leave him. Shirohime still cares about him, but he is too far away to visit often.

The thing she loves the most is dragons. Videogames with dragons, stories with dragons, movies with dragons… She decided pretty early that if she was going to have a dragon quirk she was going all in and have fun with it.

Her favorite hero is, of course, Dragoon hero: Ryukyu. Her mother's little sister. Reptile transformations run in the family. Her mother is quirkless but luckily she inherited a good version of the family quirk. Her aunt helped her with quirk control in the early days, but now she has to train on her own to find her own strength.

Her dream is to "Get princesses, sleep in a pile of gold and look cool, of course".

-Quirk-

Dragon Heart (lvl 1): Her quirk gives Shirohime the ability to turn into a dragon. Only partially for now but she hopes to reach Ryukyu's level someday. Maybe even being able to fly.

Her transformation covers her body in green scales and gives her an incredible amount of strength. Her nails get longer and black, turning into metal-rendering claws. It also gives her two tiny dragon wings the size of a hand, giving her the hope she will fly in the future.

This quirk also allows her to breath fire. She can use it as a continuous stream or as ranged fireballs that explode on impact. The amount of fire she can generate is impressive, but the more she uses it the more her body overheats, making overuse dangerous.

Her tail and horns also change in her transformation. Her horns grow larger and tougher, turning them into dangerous weapons. Her tail gets thicker and more reptile-like, with barbs on the tip and surprising strength. What most people don't expect is the powerful paralyzing poison in the barbs. They are a bit painful to use because they get stuck on the enemy, but regrow quickly.

The main weakness of her power is cold water. She can't resist ambient cold, but when she touches cold water or ice she gets dizzy to the point of fainting if she is not careful. She is scared of storms.

Rel. Score: 6/10 (My… best friend. As important as family.)

Thoughts about you:
  • I finally managed to get him to move. I was so worried. It was my fault what happened and since then he hasn't been himself… But this is the first step for his recovery. Now he needs more friends… I hope he doesn't leave me behind.
  • I've been thinking about it for a long time... Can I really get closer to him with these thoughts in my mind? Even if I want to... I just can't. [Dragon's Party]

Friends (1-4)

A boy aspiring to be a future pro hero. He is quiet and shy, but always tries his hardest. He is always teased for being shorter than most boys his age.

He met Daiki in the Entrance Exam. He had a lot of trouble fighting robots until Daiki arrived. He was moved by Daiki's speech and decided to follow him. He has now a new perspective on what being a hero means thanks to him and is happy just helping people. He feels like a hero already.

He is not the smartest student and his plans lack creativity, but works twice as harder than most.

-Quirk-

Metal bullet (lvl 1): Can create and launch pieces of metal at high speeds. After much training he discovered that the metal does a lot more damage when launched as spikes. The launch system seems to work with magnetism. Doesn't understand enough about his quirk to use it to its full potential.

Right now he can only make pieces of iron, steel and lead. This might change as he trains his quirk.

Rel. Score: 1/10 (My inspiration to get stronger)

Thoughts about you:
  • He managed to get everyone to work together. It was like watching a pro hero in a disaster situation, taking charge and knowing what to do. I want to be like him.

Akane and Syouin are twin sisters. Born and raised in the Yamakage family, famous for owning the biggest ninjutsu dojo in Japan. They've always been pretty sheltered, but thanks to their training and quirk, they felt confident enough to take the entrance exam.

Their personalities are really different from each other. Akane seems meek and calm while Syouin is more energetic and ready to get into a fight. Even with their different personalities, they have similar tastes and stick together most of the time. It's almost as if they were a single person.

They are identical twins, so it's almost impossible to know who is who by looks alone. The only trait that makes this possible is their eye color.

-Quirks-

Fuse (lvl 1): Allows Akane to fuse things together, making them stick to each other with a surprising amount of strength. This works almost as magnetism and can be countered with enough force. She has the ability to make this fusion even stronger but it drains her energy pretty quickly.

Things fused together become part of each other and, if she uses enough power, adapt to their new situation. Sometimes even changing how they work.

She has to touch the things she wants to fuse.

Divide (lvl 1): Syouin can divide things, separating from each other. It usually manifests like a clean cut through an object. This power has a surprisingly high range and, even if an object is really big, it can still be cut in half as long as she is touching it.

What's more surprising being that she can decide what kind of cut she does. She can either cut something, and the results would be the expected… Or cut something but without any negative effect, as if the object was still a single entity. A watch could be cut in half and separated, the clockwork still working as if nothing happened.

She has to touch whatever she wants to divide.

-Akane-
Rel. Score: 2/10 (A future hero)

Thoughts about you:
  • He managed to stop out little fight. Then he gave us a way to work together. I'm thankful for meeting him.
  • Hanging out with him was fun. It's been a while since a boy was brave enough to stay and not run away when my father and sister start to play around. [The mountain den]

-Syouin-
Rel.Score: 2/10 (A good leader)

Thoughts about you:
  • Everyone just… decided to follow him for some reason. Even I did! We might have thrown our chance at a position in the Hero course away for him… Why I'm not even regretting it?
  • Training with him was really fun. It's been a while since I had someone to hit that wasn't my sister or dad... Wait, does this mean I'm a ninja master too now that I have an apprentice?! [The mountain den]

A kind and caring girl that looks much more younger than she is. Haruka Usami attended the entrance exam with the objective of following her dream of helping as many people as possible. Her most characteristic trait is the pair of white bunny ears on top of her head. She hates it when people try to touch them without permission. They are soft and sensitive.

She had no fighting capabilities, and the practical test was rougher than she expected. She knows she doesn't have enough points to pass but seems like Recovery Girl has plans for her.

She spends most of her time outside her home, not wanting to be there with her parents.

-Quirk-

Regeneration (lvl 1): Her quirk allows Haruka to stimulate the cells in the patient's body to regenerate much quicker than they should, repairing the body as if it had a long time to recover. She needs a bit of precision for her power to work and a part of her body over the wound. The downside is that the rapid multiplication of cells could lead to replication errors. It's not dangerous if you are healed once a day but a more frequent healing would hurt the patient's health.

On her body, this quirk is constantly working. Repairing cells, getting rid of replication errors and keeping infections at bay. Her body is constantly using energy for this, so she has to eat a lot and has a somewhat sickly body. Not because of an illness but because of a lack of energy.

Her quirk is what keeps her looking like she did when she was ten. She is used to it but doesn't like it.

Rel. Score: 3/10 (One of my first friends)

Thoughts about you:
  • He tried to help me pass the test, even if with my quirk it was an impossible task. I'm grateful, and I was even able to repay him by healing his leg.
  • He spent some time with me while I was feeling alone... It feels just so natural to talk with him. [Visit to the doctor]

Cheery and easygoing girl. Her upbeat attitude coupled with her strange quirk always made her a pretty popular girl and that led to a good development of her social skills.
Some would say that her quirk is not good enough to fight villains, but she wanted to join the hero course anyway. Why did she want to join? Because it was the best way of meeting interesting people, of course. She is a kind girl who likes to help others but also wants to make friends.
She is not ashamed of being nude in public. No one can see her after all. She argues that being nude is the best strategy to use with her powers even if it gets cold when having to fight in winter. She still gets embarrassed when someone points the fact that she is nude or stares at her naked body… Even if no one can actually see her.

-Quirk-
Invisibility (lvl 1): Her body is invisible and she can't turn her quirk off. She is totally immune to any kind of visual detection.
Her quirk works by bending the light around her like a rock in a river with water flowing around it. This makes it so her body doesn't get in the way of light. Anything inside her body or below the skin can't be seen, so if she hides something in her mouth or closed hand it turns invisible too.

Rel. Score: 1/10 (An interesting person)

Thoughts about you:
  • He did something incredible! He managed to bring everyone together and make them work as a team. He is also really cute.

A kind-hearted individual full of heroic spirit. Loyal to a fault, he will do anything to help his friends.
Eijiro is energetic and holds things like determination and nobility in high regard. Often refers to things he likes as "manly", making him wish to be as manly as possible in different ways. His physique is surprisingly strong for his frame and could hold in a fight against most people of his size.

-Quirk-
Hardening (lvl 1): His quirk allows Eijiro to harden and sharpen any part of his body. This protects him from heat, shockwaves and, of course, physical attacks. The only drawback is that the skin, even hardened, is still his skin. The protection isn't perfect and his skin can crack and rupture under enough stress, leaving painful wounds after a fight.
His quirk also allows him some degree of super strength and durability when his muscles harden. He was able to destroy the robots in the entrance exam just by punching them.

Rel. Score: 3/10 (A friend and training partner)

Thoughts about you:
  • He fought bravely even after being tired. He even helped me. They overwhelmed us, but the bond of two people fighting together a horde of robots is unbreakable.
  • He seriously needs all the training he can get. [Training and a fight]
  • We will get stronger... TOGETHER! [Manly spirit in a manly body]

A cheerful and energetic girl that loves hanging out with friends and making new ones. Like most heroes, she has a good heart and a willingness to help others even when facing stronger foes. Some might think that she is dumb, but she just has to learn through practice. She is great at dancing and videogames. Something not many know is how much chemistry knowledge she has thanks to her quirk. She likes shipping and sometimes is a bit intrusive when dealing with those themes.

-Quirk-
Acid (lvl 1): Her skin can produce a chemical compound that she modifies to suit different purposes. She can alter its viscosity, solubility, and acidity. She can also alter the base composition to make it react to different materials, but it's not easy.
She has an unexpected degree of control over the substance, allowing her to maintain shapes outside of her body for a short time.
As she uses her quirk, her skin slowly loses its immunity to the compound, leading to chemical burns with overuse.

Rel. Score: 2/10 (Cute and interesting boy.)

Thoughts about you:
  • He seems nice, his quirk is cool and we are going to be at the same academy. I'm sure we will be good friends for a long time… I wonder if he and Shiro are together or not.

A kind elderly man owner of the LaCroix café. He spent all his life using his quirk to gain a fortune. He now spends his days working at the café he opened with his wife years ago.

The café is slightly hidden at the end of a small street with almost no passerbys. He considers his café a little treasure that has to be found. His main reason to not open it in a busy street.

He had problems with his family and lost contact with them. His granddaughter is missing and dreams of the day he will find her again.

-Quirk-

??? (lvl 2): You don't know much about his quirk. When he was younger, it was used to help plants grow, turning the fruits and vegetables produced by them into miracle food. Now it only turns those plants into really high quality without giving them healing properties.

Rel. Score: 2/10 (My new employee)

Thoughts about you:
A good kid. He seems troubled and a bit distracted at times but he is a good listener. It's good to have company once in a while.

Seems okay. With this his body will clearly be weak but so much focus in SOUL will make it so as long as you have friends around you will be able to succeed.

Also I preffer if people vote by line instead of plans. I think it would be easier for the vote tally, but I'm not 100% sure how this stuff works yet.

Edit: After testing the tally system I realized I fucked up. Votes should go like this:

I like the idea, as long as whoever helps us are compelling characters, I would be down with that.

I don't really like the series, but I think the setting is ideal for these types of quests.

Vote closed. Our character Stats are...

Primary: SOUL
Secondary: MIND
Weakness: BODY
Resistance: SOUL

Body and Soul were tied for weakness but decided for Body because Soul won the resistance vote.

Now I will start writing the next post. the selection of power. I will give you a list of powers and you will be able to pick one of them. They will all be related to the SOUL stat, so expect powers that interact with other people more than the environment.

Depending on the Quirk, would we even be able to enter the Hero Classes? I mean, our Body is 1 and we have it as a weakness too from what I can tell. Our build relies too much on there being people to work with in a team. Which is not at all useful considering what the entrance exam is.

Damn...just missed it. Eh, the vote I was going for won anyway.

Depends on the power really. And how long we get to train before we apply and take the exam. Who knows?

And worst comes to worst, hey, Sports Festival. With all the greatest of team events in a row, all up to the final tournament. If Lux doesn't change anything, that is.

Character Creation 2
It's finally here. One of the most important votes. The power vote. Only one of them will be picked and will define how your character acts and tackles his problems from now on until the end of the quest. All powers will drain EP when used. The ones that vary in effect will drain more EP the stronger that power is.

In addition all powers can get stronger. Every power starts at level 1 but, with enough training, a power can rise up to level 3. Doing that might unlock secret effects you didn't know the power had.

These are the possible powers:

Hypnotic gaze lvl1: When people look at your eyes they fall into a light trance. Too light to realize something is wrong but it allows you to subtly modify how they behave or move. You need to keep eye contact. In a confrontation the enemy receives a -2 to one stat but you get a -1 dice to your roll to keep eye contact.

Direct Control lvl 1: You are capable of transferring your consciousness into another body. This lets you control them at will and feel what their body feels at the moment. Meanwhile your body will be defenseless and unconscious, so be careful.

In combat this allows you to take control of another character and know their full stats and energy levels. You will need to win in a SOUL roll-off and the objective will be allowed to try repeat their roll every minute. It drains your EP quickly.

Belief lvl1: You, as a base, have no power. No manifestation of it at least. Your power comes from what people believe about you. If they think you are capable of breathing fire, you will. If they think you can fly, you will. If they think you will win a fight, you might be strong enough. This power is a double edged sword. When people think you are weak you will actually grow weaker.

The stronger people believe something, the stronger the effect will be. It will only work while people are observing you, their belief in that moment modifies your power.

This power is really varied mechanically. It will change with each situation but I will try to adapt it on the fly. Be careful. The stronger the power you have the more energy you spend. Your body has its limits.

Bonds lvl 1: Your power is based on the bonds you have with others.

But don't think that's an easy point to reach.

You will start with relationship bonds with four people. Your Father, your two sisters and your childhood friend.

I will leave this vote open a bit longer than the other.
