[X] Do something else
-[X] When the Chosen returns, make him an offer. Since you were both played against the other by the sowing men, you will show them the consequences of trying to trick their betters
-[X] Together follow the river down to strike at the Great Hearth, punish the plainsmen and claim tribute for Makar and their ancestors alike
-[X] If the Chosen doesn't accept decide on the battle plan once you see his army

Needless to say, Im pretty incensed

@Azel Do we know how close the nearest village is? Its only been a few days right? How did they mobilize so fast...? I am starting to lean towards bluff, because mobilizing an Army worth a damn in the stone age and then marching them across a distance would take forever, The villages are also touted as big as GreenValley and it takes even our mini-villages around our capital a lengthy time to get to the Whitehalls.
A good week of marching, but you have no idea how fast by boat.

Another point in favor of the coup theory:

This guy would be trading away fanatics in exchange of foreign, non-makarite troops.

And let's be fair, four fanatic troops are worth more than a single warrior pop... unless you are planning to fight the priests. In that case, you wanna keep all the fanatics away.

Wait the river should be going Down towards the Ocean, surely their not going against the current?
In least theirs an ocean north that we don't see.
Wait were at the Riverbend or that more south place?

Oh Oaklake might be able to boat down... but surely they don't have that massive an army chilling that far north?

Okay, this doesn't add up. For them to arrive in one week, they would have received the warning the time we attacked.

And scouts don't teleport as far as I'm aware. Unless they knew of this raid beforehand and simply stalled. But even then, there would be better stalling methods than simply fighting your attackers head on.

@Azel
I smell this is all a set-up.

Do we tell buchtest beforehand of our plan to attack through the mountain?

Korporati Questions.

@Azel , did the boat came up from the north, or the south?

This is pretty important. Because if they had to go rowing against the current, either the troops are going to be tired as hell or something odd is going on.

"They called you arrogant and violent. Quarrelsome savages from the mountains that looked down on everyone. They even told us to expect you to come down from your mountains to make war upon us." The ember in chest turned to cold that ice and Sparrow could to little more then stare in shock as the chosen kept on speaking. "They should be grateful to you. When they called an envoy of ours to this place they call the Great Heart to speak, we were dubious. Even more so when they said that they wanted friendship and were willing to pay a proper tithe to Makar if we stop raiding the Sowing People. Maybe we will accept after all, given that they didn't lie about you."

"But that is not our concern here." For the first time his face showed another emotion then disdain as his lips quirked upwards in a smile fit for a wolf. "We have to speak about your fate."

It took far too long for Sparrow to clam his nerves again, a long moment of silence stretching on before he answered. "I take it you wish for our surrender, lest the war-band following you will slay us all?"

"Indeed. Our warriors will arrive by the morrow, but there is another way for you then dying on our spears. You have beaten ours in battle, which is pleasing to Makar, though you have not given proper tithe to him and no, giving back what you took from us would not be enough."
...
The first bolded is true, but fun fact they didn't believe them as such they sent a bigwig up north to fact check. And now said bigwig knows we not only did attack we took a village with almost no loses, he likely ran into the scouts fleeing south. Further more we are within striking distance of the capital which the war is going on south is likely undefended (The war is ongoing because they hadn't excepted peace yet).
Their is no army behind him, after all a village falling is utter BS by both in universe expectations and WOG.

[X] Do something else.
-[X] First of all, fucking merk that chosen.
-[X] As in the previous plan, juke east towards the river. Do not cross the river, though. Head immediately south and then west, towards Makar. Their host shouldn't be too far behind their scouts; by the time they see the feint, they should be north-east of our force. Don't try to conceal our tracks heading south though; if they don't realize we're going for the god-king, they might head for Greenvalley.
-[X] Head straight for Makar, cross the river and attack the site to incite a slave rebellion. Once we've taken it, all we need to do is defeat the force pursuing and run like hell for Greenvalley.

I will not vote for any proposal that involves attacking Makar; that's fucking stupid. The Makarites are playing their own game here...and anyways at no point did the Chosen say that the Makarite armies were going to attack us. Only that they made a deal with Brushcrest to not raid them-- maybe.

We need to get back to Greenvalley asap and relieve the siege.

[X] Try to flee. You still have a day before his warriors are in Riverbend.
-[X] Flee immediately to keep as large a distance to the pursuers as you can.

..
The update stated (by word of mouth of them) that they didn't take that deal yet.

Hence the maybe.

Edit:

Guys, let's put our heads together: why does the priest want a unit of our warriors? I feel like this is the key to what the Makarites are planning.

Wait

They knew we were coming the whole time. It's a minor miracle that we managed to take this village despite Brushcrest ratting out our plan of attack. The real front isn't to the southeast; this is the real front!

Then they should have already been there, I am pretty sure Brushcrest didn't know we were going through the Mountains.

I don't know if that was the case, but thank god we didn't choose to link our forces with them and march to Makar. It would've been Istvaan V all over again.

Their probably confused, Luckily we have a Stone Wall, so assuming their attacking us, they have no way of actually getting through barring outright surrender. They also don't likely have traits that lets them destroy pops easily, even for enemies.

Why not take this chosen as a hostage if we're going to retreat?

The force's he has aren't really enough to stop us. Plus we get an insurance policy against the fanatics.

Why? No, seriously. Explain why you're voting for this kamikaze plan.
