Time for a few tidbits about the world and the characters in it that will almost certainly never come up in-quest!

  • In Ken's previous timeline, Makoto maxed out Maiko's Social Link really early and proceeded to ignore her. She died in Tartarus, and he never quite managed to forgive himself.
  • The complete list of people with access to some sort of emergency time-travelling protocol: Velvet Room inhabitants, time gods, former time gods, concepts. It's needed so rarely that most of them have since forgotten about it.
  • The real reason all the Persona games happen in Japan? Shadows are attracted to other Shadows, even after they've become Personas. And after P1 and Eternal Punishment, there's a bunch of people with access to the Velvet Room- and multiple Personas- grouped together. The Shadows just keep hitting the wrong cities. They're not good with directions.
  • Up until they were eight, Aki called Shinji 'Aniki'. Polydeuces still does.
  • In Ken's previous timeline, Chidori was revived and eventually married Junpei. Because someone out of that cast deserves to be happy.
  • Shadows, as a rule, are impulsive. They depend on the humans they're attached to to temper that. Sometimes you get cases like Akihiko where that doesn't happen. Those cases tend to either find someone else to rely on or self-destruct.
  • Penthesilea is basically Mitsuru's panicky side, because it amuses me to have an ice elemental who has no chill.
  • It is possible for people to develop the Third Eye without it being granted to them. It is exceedingly rare, and mostly shows up on people whose Personas have sensory capabilities.
  • In Ken's original timeline, Mitsuru's scope was broken just prior to the events of Persona 3. This had negative effects on her ability to use her previous strategies.
  • The reason Mitsuru is so popular is because she uses Marin Karin on her classmates, who are... less resistant than most Shadows are. She doesn't even realize she's doing it most of the time, and the ones who could point it out are too scared of her.

And now when Ken meets him for the first time he'll have the urge to punch Makoto in the dick for some reason.

... That's fucked up.

Why you gotta hit me with these unnecessary feels?

Junpei's the man. Glad to see things worked out for him this time.

Cute Mitsuru is always appreciated.

...Welp, looks like we have to help best girl out. Who's with me?

[X] Ask where he came from.

Also, I hope after that even Makoto understood that SLinks are humans, not just sources of power.

  • [X] Ask where he came from.
[X] Ask about the blotted out section.
-[X] A rogue Persona huh? Am I going to freak out at the person that did it? Is that why I'm not ready to know about it?
[X] Ask why he has this notebook.
    [X]Ask about the spear
    -[X]Awkward subject change style.

...Well, at least you seem to recognize that maybe you shouldn't poke at the most sensitive subject. That was a genuine worry.

Of course, cryptic conversations might not be that much better. Depends who it is, most of the time.

Now, admittedly, you shouldn't have been reading Nemi's notebook to begin with. Still, you don't want him to be upset with you, so you frantically cast for a way to change the subject.

"Where did you come from, anyway?" You ask, unsure of what else to say.

"Do you mean right now, or in general?"

"Right now... mostly." Actually, you kind of do want to know why you have a Persona, but that's a bit less important that the fact that the doors and window seem to be undisturbed.

"Of course you'd pick the one that's harder to explain..." He sighs. "This is why I couldn't... Okay, so I don't really need to use doors or anything. This is our mind, we can do just about anything here as long as it doesn't break anything..." His eyes flicker over to the pictures on the desk. "...important. And, well, you're not always... here, and I don't have to be, either, but I can be anywhere in here that I have to be."

You don't really understand that, but you still try to. "So... you can teleport?"

"I mean, by a certain definition..." He looks decidedly uncomfortable, as he slips his notebook into his uniform jacket. You're not quite sure where it goes after that, but you write it off as some sort of mind thing. You can feel yourself waking up now, so you could also just be overlooking things.

In the end, you leave the depths of your mind before you can ask any more questions, and you think you may actually be sort-of okay with that.

When you open your eyes, you see that not as much time has passed as the last time. That's probably a good thing. "Oh, good, you're awake." You hadn't noticed Kirijo-san was standing there at first. "We were worried we'd have to keep you overnight again."

"Sorry," You try to laugh it off. You aren't sure if you succeed or not. "How long has it been?"

"Long enough that we may as well just keep you here for dinner and have Shinjiro walk you back to your dorm afterwards. Unless you would be opposed to that?"

You almost surprise yourself with just how quickly you shake your head. "N-no, that's fine. I- I sort of like it here." You almost don't want to leave, if not for the fact that this isn't where your bed is. And these people are doing more than enough for you as it is, you wouldn't want to overstay your welcome.

This is good.

The rest of the evening passes without anything of note happening, other than Kirijo-san reminding you to come back at the same time next week so that you can go over whatever they manage to figure out from those scans. And you were going to do that anyway, because these are the people you've been going to when you run into something that you just don't understand, and you've gotten sort of used to it.

Besides, you like these people. Even if they stopped being able to help you, you don't think you'd ever stop wanting to spend time with them. You can't quite call them friends, you don't think, not when they're so much older than you you're just a kid to them, but that doesn't change the fact that you sort of feel like you belong.

It's a good feeling. You hope it doesn't ever go away.

The fact that they end up feeding you takeout doesn't surprise you one bit, nor does the fact that Sanada-san and Shinjiro-san constantly snipe at each other over dinner. Kirijo-san tries to rein them in, but, well... you'd known that was a lost cause from the start.

And, after dinner, like Kirijo-san said, Shinjiro-san ends up walking you back. You're almost certain that she didn't give him any actual say in this, since... okay, he's willing to look at you now, but he doesn't really say anything, either.

You don't really think you like awkward silences.

Probably the safest subjects.

Presumably the bonus is higher than whatever we would get from the "Make Small Talk" options.

[X] Thank him for agreeing to walk you back.

Still though, asking about friends would of been nice. Get that whole awkward/heartwarming moment of asking if they can be friends.

@SeekerofDreams: So do options with a hidden Social Stat Up provide a larger amount, or is it just a guaranteed fixed amount? Oh, and will a Social Rank Up be acknowledged in-update?

Though on a different topic: I was wondering about the base nature of Ken's other Spells and Cruel Attack. You stated Dia works on anything with a Soul, so that's definitely helpful for Trick-crafting.

I'm also curious... could we get Media and Diarama by refining our base Dia spell? Really, anything like that, of mastering our Spells/Skills to unlock higher versions.

The options with +Stat generally give more progress to a stat than another option would, though it might come with a tradeoff- such as, in this case, the chance to get to know Shinji a little better if you can navigate the minefield that is a conversation with him.

And, yes, I will acknowledge in-update when a rank up is achieved.
