Maybe we can get the twins to help out in setting traps in the forest. I am sure they would want to be brought in on a enterprise to make a small fortune.

Why would we show off the secret passageway we found? Our character does it because he likes solving puzzles. Not for the money, but that is a nice side benefit. Also, that sounds like a good way to get on Hagrid's bad side, get the Spiders after us, and a good way to be expelled. It will benefit us more to keep it secret. Also, telling someone we don't know at all seems like a good way for others to eventually find out about it because I doubt that the Twins keep it to themselves. Basically, we don't know the twins and I don't think our Jacob cares to get to know them or let them know that he found a passage to the Forbidden Forest. Those things don't grow on trees, pardon the pun. I would honestly say it is probably one of the most unique secret passageways in the castle.

Edit: In the end, Knowledge > Dubious Potential of making Money.

We need money for the bigger more dangerous study of magic. So we will need people to help hunt giant spiders in the forest and people desperate enough not to tell anyone about a secret passage into the forbidden Forrest. The twins do want to get enough money to make thier joke shop happen.
Why would he ask those guys instead of Hagrid? He's the Magical Creature professor and forest keeper (?) after all..
hagrid would not help us murder his friends so we can take the venom from there bodies.

Blue potion is good right now, but it looks like the red one may have hidden depths.
The issue is also logistics and supply though, as it seems that even though they have widely different periods they still require a similar amount of acromantula venom which will be a rarity.

As others mentioned the blue potion also already has a demand with OWL and NEWT students which will make things easier.

The final point is that we do have an action economy, so points invested into developing the red potion and coming from elsewhere, and notably the development costs are already quite high and will no doubt go further up.

As others have mentioned, I'd also be in favour of growing our stats given the low DC's and how important they are. I wouldn't be surprised if similar to other systems at certain point total perks are unlocked too.

I'd be in favour of just focusing our efforts on a single stat this coming turn, so we can take the most advantage out of the stat points from leveling up.

On the idea of the blue pill red pill comparison :

《The red pill and its opposite, the blue pill, are a popular cultural meme, a metaphor representing the choice between:

Red Pill: Knowledge, freedom, uncertainty and the brutal truths of reality
Blue Pill: Security, happiness, beauty, and the blissful ignorance of illusion

- thanks wiki for putting it so well into words

So by this description, I'd say the red pill fit Jacob and his wand better.
+We can improve the red potion

Hence,

[X] Red Wideye Potion I

[X] Blue Wideye Potion

Just going by the description of what the potions do, I'm picking blue. I also never enjoyed the idea of relying on consumables and items in order to do things in general, personally.

But this is not the matrix, this is not a red or blue pill. This is a potion to increase the amount of things we can do or our ability to do certain things.

matrix references need not apply.

[X] Red Wideye Potion I

Peel back the veil and see the insanity.

@Keani

I'd agree with you except that QM validated this one

Idk but if Dragon Age has taught me anything is Wizards need extra Blue Potions over Red potions. The extra mana allows a wizard to heal themselves, but the health recovery of the Red Potion doesn't restore their power.

Will admit Jacob, as a True Ravenclaw, would enjoy a challenge, but it's clear that the Red Potion will offer a steady stream of challenges while Blue Potion offers a one time challenge. Which could be solved in a crit chain, but leaves Jacob with less to pursue. From another perspective, would he have the patience to persue a quest over a singular goal? The True Ravenclaw Trait describes our interest in being 'flighty.'

[X] Blue Wideye Potion – Learning the Awakening Potion gave you an idea; it is clear that some of the ingredients act as a suppressant for tiredness and sleepiness. If you tweak the recipe and try to understand how the ingredients interact with each other… you may be able to make the potion more useful. If taken, it gives you one Personal Action more per potion. Can only safely consume one dose per month. (Requires Awakening Potion learned & Potion skill of at least P-), Cost for ingredients: 5 Galleons, DC: 200 & 1 Vial of Acromantula Venom

Could using the blue potion too much have negative consequences? I love the idea of having more actions but I'm worried about what future repercussions there might be if we take the blue potion all the time and ruin our natural sleep schedule. I'm also a little bit worried that red potion upgrades aren't just increased mods but also give bonuses that would "awaken our mind to greater truths" or something. This is mostly me just being generally paranoid about this choice and blue is probably better but I'm imagining that what seems to be the worse choice is actually the one that leads to a path with a lot more mysteries for us to solve

[X] Red Wideye Potion I
