Fuck the money? I'd rather get home and learn that none of our close family members died while we were away. The sort of thing that I fear is that we'll be the sole collector of that payment.

Jutsu Learned: 1D3 => 2 (Henge Learned.)

    While Sakumo and Orochimaru were not as great of teachers as the Academy teachers or your own mother, you managed to learn the Henge.

    Asahi shook as you put your hand on her shoulder. She did not even try to stop you from putting the genjutsu on her to talk to her. "Is everything alright?"

    Ashai just whispered. "My ally is scared and alone. And close to death."

    You stepped back. "Is there anything we can do to help you?"

    "My queen needs time to rebuild her hive, but that time requires me to sit in the sun, and allow her to leave, to gather the nutrients from nature to rebuild." Asahi replied than she went silent as if she was listening to the humming bug within her body.

    "What's the problem?" You asked.

    "I can't let her leave." Asahi stated. "Without her I'm nothing, and I will die if she dies. I cannot protect her if she leaves."

    You saw her goggles fogging up, her eyes on the verge of tears. "We'll protect her on her little journey to help her repair your hive."

    "How?" Your friend whispered.

    You gave a small smile. A forced one, but a smile nonetheless "We're ninja… Protecting one bug should be easy."

    Asahi nodded, lifting her goggles up and wiping them down to clear them with her fingers, allowing you to see the slightly glowing eyes that were protected by her goggles. "Okay." Than she held out her hand and than a large bug came out of her sleeve. "Don't lose her."

    It was rather difficult for you, and later, the entire class to keep an eye on Asahi's queen as it buzzed around, but by the time it went back to her, it caused Asahi's mood to change.

    She was happier, even downright cheerful… something you've never really seen her as before.

    It was like she was both returning to life after having nothing… and granting you all the trust that she never thought she would give to anyone else.

    Reward: Asahi's hive has been rebuilt slightly, enough for her to no longer send her queen out to gather nutrients. Asahi is willing to trust you with her life, as she trusted you with her own.

    Sakumo is a surprisingly good hunter… He took down a wolf and squirrel with one swipe of his blade.

    On the road, Sakumo asked you a question. "If you became a ninja, what do you want to do?"

    That made you put your hand on your chin. You never really thought of that. "Why are you asking, shouldn't we be focused on getting home?" You asked, the genjutsu cast without hesitation to speak to him.

    "We'll get home…" Sakumo paused. "I just want to know what you'll do when you get home?"

    You looked at the road. "I just want to make sure my mom and dad are okay."

    Sakumo nodded but said no other words. As if your words reminded him of the family he still has left.

    Reward: Reminders of home keep Sakumo going. A lesson has been learned through the bonds with his brothers and sisters in arms of this crusade, and from you yourself. 'Those who abandon their mission are trash… but those who abandon their friends are worse than trash.' Sakumo's rolls will now go up by 50 when fighting beside any of the other crusaders when you all get back to Konoha.

    She then walked away.

    Orochimaru gulped. What is with everyone trying to say stuff to you and just standing there staring at you like some pariah? Your only a mute who can speak to them through their minds with genjutsu. Not some Jinchuuriki or demon possessed…

    Actually, scratch that last part, the beast would be offended if you compared him to a demon.

    "Ayako… Thank you." But even he didn't know why he thanked her. It was illogical… like something had guided him through his life has finally shown him there was another way. A way with his friends.
    He then walked away… What the hell was going on? You checked to see if you were in a genjutsu, but it was real.

    Was everyone in this group socially awkward or was it just you not picking up on their clearly screwed up social cues!?

    So, Training Jutsu is still a bigger priotity than Taijutsu. Helping our resident genius bounce ideas to keep us safe, which we can then possibly take to Sakumo works as well.

    I'm actually pretty happy about our progress with Tsunade. Lmao, at Orochi though. We're slowly thawing his heart. I'm super happy about that too. But, our little lady bug is someone I want to take care of and hug, so chatting with Asahi is good civ.

    Edit: Since we know the Henge, should the Jutsu training now focus on the other two or is Henge training still part of it? Because as far as I'm concerned, if we learn the Substitution Tech next turn, we can go for Taijutsu.

    I can be convinced to do basically any combination of people to talk with while traveling, but we need to talk to everyone. We have to all work together to get back, and you can't really work with someone without interaction with them.

    The colony dies, then Asahi dies. So if the queen does die and the colony is not sufficiently repaired, and if the queen does not have a replacement to take over, She dies.
