Yui because Yamatokitsune (which makes Meigyoku a Fubukitsune in my eyes) and Daniel to make sure her 18 inch shells hits the right targets.

Yes, there are few things a flight of capital ships cannot solve by weight of firepower. One of them is finding the enemy.

Also just a note but the OP has been updated with the Imperial Crest, created by @Slayers148

Not exactly happy with the increased information, since it really seems that the Princess is the only good option, since this game will mostly be about political maneuver.

@Whiskey Golf Is approval voting okay?

Princess is the only good option, since this game will mostly be about political maneuver.

And by her will, you shall cleanse the corruption, purge the rot, and strengthen the Empire once more in any way you see fit.

Or perhaps not. It is your choice. After all, such a prestigious position grants both unprecedented responsibilities...and opportunities. Not to mention enemies...

Going to hazard a guess, but that "In any way you see fit" and "Or perhaps not." speaks volumes to me. I will guess that Princess Yui is the go to choice if you actually do want to keep the Empire together, being discrete and playing the political game to avoid landmines, while Alastor is clearly ambitious and is able to seek the throne either by force or by what political intrigue he has. Yonatan seems to be the hard mode, with little intrigue, and only force, if he is salty and seeks to take over the empire and/or safegurd he can only do so by force, so the trick is to use force correctly when needed and as needed to avoid political fallout.

Damn. Neither is likely to win, but I kinda wanted to play the guy that ended up getting his fingers in all the pies, so that we know when people are starting shit just by seeing where money goes, and then make them bleed so the other sharks circling around get them.

On the other hand, it might be interesting if the two we don't choose show up later, possibly in an opposition role.

I personally suspect that battle is inevitable, but I would rather try to hold the empire through diplomacy if we can...and perhaps make some powerful allies for when the time comes that we cannot. And for that we need to know both friend and foe, so this is my vote.
