I really want to know what the rest of the touhou cast would think of flandre if they could see what she has been up to, As when given the choice she really is a giant softy at heart, At least to people she like's.
A lot of the youkai would be confused and suspicious, because Flandre isn't being particularly malicious or malevolent on the scale that they expect the sister of the Scarlet Devil to be, especially the longer-lived ones that remember her tearing apart other youkai in the Vampire Incident. Some would come to the belief that she is insane, by youkai standards, for continuing to be polite and not behaving how she 'should.' Humans would probably not change their views much; she might lose the 'she is death incarnate, stay away from her' stigma, but she's still a fairly unpredictable and easily-excited youkai capable of destroying the Human Village single-handedly even without the eye-crushing ability.

Some specifics:

Aya wouldn't even bother trying to read anything deeper than the surface with regards to Flan's actions. Quest Canon has her be the non-SDM youkai on best terms with Remilia, and trying to decide whether Flan has a master plan beyond what she claims isn't something Aya would want to bother with, particularly since her experiences with Remilia and Flandre have taught her that they generally do mean what they say, and if they don't they usually have a good reason for keeping up the lie for more than a few days at most.

Yukari, on the other hand, would tie her mind in knots trying to figure out what Flan's master plan is, because for all that Flan puts up the appearance of just wanting to have fun, Yukari knows that it is just a front, and that Flandre is hundreds of years old and highly intelligent, so anything she does must not only have some other meaning than the surface-level one, but also be connected to her other actions to create a pattern or chain of events that will personally benefit her. (Although to be fair, that is Remilia's typical attitude - the surface-level reason might be true, but there's usually at least one other reason for doing that particular thing a specific way, and most of what she does is in the service of one or another large-scale plan. It's not too unreasonable to consider that Flan would try emulating her sister.)

Yuyuko, contrarian that she is, would be more relieved to see Flandre doing something rather than waiting more or less patiently in the basement of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. She also doesn't have a problem with human-youkai relations, and thinks that the relative fragility of the individuals Flan befriends might contribute to a softening of Flandre's attitudes, so she would be generally in favor of Flandre's actions.

Reimu would continue her general 'so what' attitude; as long as Flandre doesn't do anything with Gensokyo natives or try anything with the Human Village, she doesn't really care. Youkai are youkai, and will do youkai things; Remilia and Flandre are youkai from a different part of the world, so their actions and attitudes are going to be different than everyone else's, and as long as Flandre obeys the rules, Reimu is just going to chalk it up to youkai.

Yuuka would be a little confused, but would also upgrade Flan to 'could be fun to kill'.

Byakuren would be hopeful that Flandre could be persuaded to be a follower who believes that humans and youkai can live in harmony. (Which is true enough, although Flan and Remilia's view of 'living in harmony' is distinctly classist with youkai being, in most cases, clear superiors.)

[X] Get Giltless to do a song.

Once again, you simply stand in place while singing. Run for your Life actually frustrates you anyway, because the occasional English phrases throw off the rhythm you build up while singing in Japanese - not that you're entirely sure you're matching how it should sound, anyway, but it's still enough to frustrate you. Applause breaks out once again, and you curtsy before returning to your seat. Satsuki is looking down at the table when you get there.

"I don't seem to have good luck with these songs, do I?" She looks up, surprised, then smiles and shakes her head.

"It's fine, Flandre-sama. They're … making me think. Before, when … when I was human, I just … went along with things. I never really tried to do anything to make me stand out. That sort of thing isn't really encouraged, anyway, but … it never even really crossed my mind. And now that I am different … I still try to stay in the background, don't I?" You smile and shrug.

"Maybe a little. But now you're surrounded by powerful personalities a lot of the time, aren't you?" She nods.

"I am. My wonderful master and her sister, the mages of the Bureau, Illyasviel-san, the librarians … it still seems like I'm the only one who doesn't know what to do. So, um - thank you for trying to teach me everything, Flandre-sama!" She bows so quickly and so low that she nearly hits her head on the table, and you giggle and pat her shoulder.

"Don't break the furniture, Satsuki." She laughs self-consciously and pretends to fix her hair. "I'm going to think about things for a bit; if I don't notice you saying something, just shake me gently, okay?" She gives you a confused look but nods. You sit back in the booth and close your eyes, sinking into a half-aware state. "Giltless?" An image of Headless and her sister sitting against each other in bed fills your mind.

"What is it, Flandre?" Headless seems … grumpy, almost irritated about something.

"I was wondering if Giltless wants to come up and sing something." Headless's mouth twists poutingly and she looks at her sister.

"Well?" Giltless hunches her shoulders and leans into Giltless, looking for comfort and security.

"But … I'm not very good at singing, and I don't know the songs, and I don't know who any of those people are …." You blink and look at Headless, who just gives you a one-shouldered shrug. Not going to be any help.

"I don't know any of these songs, either, but if you want, I can sing with you - or Headless can." You correct yourself immediately, although you aren't even sure if Headless will cooperate. In fact, she scowls at you.

"Why are you doing this, Flandre?" You cock your head to the side. "Trying to get Giltless to do something, especially when she's already expressed that she's not really interested?" Giltless hunches her shoulders as you glower at Headless.

"I'm just trying to be nice, Headless. If that's not allowed, I suppose I can leave." You turn away from them; it's not often that you and Headless get into fights - it's hard to remember the last time it happened, in fact - but when you do it's best to just stay away from each other. One of the many useful things about the mental construct.

"Um! Um …." You stop and half-turn so you can look at Giltless. "Um … are you going to keep singing?" You nod and she takes a breath while holding tightly onto Headless's arm. "Um, if … if it's not too much trouble … if you start singing a song, and it seems like a good one, can I join in?" You barely hesitate before nodding once.

"Of course you may." She smiles and nods before leaning against Headless again.

"Thank you!" You smile and nod again before waking up. You blink a couple times before cocking your head at Satsuki. She smiles shyly.

"I … um, I got thirsty …." You giggle and shake your head. You're not worried about her drink.

"No, I was just wondering if whoever came up here said anything about me." Her smile fades.

"Mm. She - the same person who was up here earlier - she said that I should make sure you don't wear yourself out, and that even if young kids don't seem like they're bothered by crowds, sometimes they really have trouble with them." You stare down at the stage as a new song starts - one entirely in English, with poor rhythm, hardly any music. You shake your head; you don't share your sister's immediate disdain for the English and anything they've made, but sometimes they just don't seem to make sense. You listen to a couple more songs before signing up again; the light turns blue almost immediately, and you shake your head a little more sadly as the girl down there doesn't even bother trying to sing the Italian parts of the song. You look at the name of your song and sigh at the nonsense title. The performer finishes and wilts her way down the stairs; you smile at her and pat her arm, and she laughs self-deprecatingly before collapsing into one of the benches. You slow near the microphones, pondering the nonsense title, but walk up to the stage without one anyway.

The song starts off incomprehensible, and doesn't get much better - parts of it are in Japanese, but other parts are in a bizarre language even you stumble through. Even worse, it seems designed to have been sung by at least two people. Still, you manage it fairly well, and the applause is louder for you than it has been for anyone else that's sung while you were here. You curtsy and return to your seat, making a note to see if Amy can find you the words to a song called "Exec.paja#Misya extracting". Or, better yet, a recording of what it's supposed to sound like.

Two more songs pass - an energetic song performed by the pale-haired girl, and a slower, sadder song in English by another red-haired girl - before it's your turn again. Once more, an English title greets you - I Say Yes - and you brace yourself for an obnoxious song. Once you finish the first set of lines, however, another mind pushes itself into the forefront, and you let Giltless take control. You have to reign her in a bit, to keep her from overrunning the lyrics, but you let her put power and feeling behind the words, and unlike you, she moves. Nothing absurd, of course, but she spins and waves her arms, and clasps her hands, and she smiles.

And then she finishes, and instead of a curtsy, she waves to everyone, and blows kisses, and bows before scurrying off the stage, letting you take back control once she's halfway up the stairs. People are still clapping and cheering, and the swordsmen are gawking at you. Even Satsuki looks a bit shocked, and you smile and wink at her.

What do you do?

[ ] Just sing occasionally.

[ ] Go meet some of the other performers.
- [ ] The swordsmen.
- [ ] The pale-haired girl.

[ ] Other?

[X] Get a drink and chat with Satsuki.
-[X] Mention the possibility of a duet, but don't push.

We sang quite a bit, I think it's time to focus a bit on Satsuki while she's relaxed. It's her vacation, after all, and singing anime songs doesn't seem to be all that much fun to Flandre.

Anyone singing Hymnos with no prep has got to be magic.

So I'm not sure if/when I'll be able to update tomorrow. Won't be until late, probably.

Karaoke IV
[X] Go meet some of the other performers.
- [X] The pale-haired girl.

You sit down and hum happily to yourself as another song begins, also sung by someone in a private room. And after that, one of the first singers, the one in the red outfit, begins singing a depressing, suicidal song. "… Hey, Satsuki? Do you know much about these songs and where they come from?" She shakes her head uncomfortably.

"Not really. I never got into video games, not even ones at arcades, and I didn't watch anime, either. Do you want to watch one?" You shrug.

"I don't mind singing, but I don't know what these songs are about, or how they fit in with the stories they're part of. That's why I don't move around or anything - that, and because I don't know how the songs will go, and it would be weird to go from being cheerful to being sad without knowing it beforehand. So I was wondering if you could help tell me about these songs."

"I'm sorry, Flandre-sama." You shake your head and lean forward to pat her shoulder.

"Don't worry. It's not like I expect you to know everything. But …." You look around the room for someone to ask before settling on the pale-haired girl who's been up to sing a few times - she's alone and mostly out of the way. "I think I'm going to go ask her if she knows anything. Would you like to come along, or do you want to wait here for me to get back?" After a long moment's thought, she nods and stands up.

"… This … I never would have done something like this before. I would go along with someone if they asked me, but …." You wait as she mumbles to herself, then smile as she takes a deep breath and nods again.

"Let's go this way," you say, and lead her around the room. Several people see you, including your target, but it's not like you were trying to be sneaky - you just didn't want to distract anyone from what's going on at the stage. Your target waves lazily as you approach her table.

"Well. So the Super Idol wants to talk to me? Not sure how I should feel about that." Her voice is deeper than expected for someone so small, and she speaks with masculine mannerisms as well. You grin as you sit down.

"You should feel honored, that someone so cute and talented considers you a worthwhile source of information!" She laughs and shakes her head. "What's an idol?" Her laughter stops, her grin fades, and wide blue eyes fix themselves on you.

"… Really?" You shrug at her honest confusion.

"It's not that important, I guess; I mean, I figure out some of it from the context. Actually, what I wanted to ask you about was all these songs. Oh, and my name's Flandre." You bob your head forward in a not-quite-bow.

"Uh, Souka." You nod and look around before focusing on the stage.

"So, these songs all come from anime and games, right?" Souka recovers her composure and nods.

"Yeah - well, unless someone sings something from some other source, but they have to pick those in that case." Her expression suddenly turns suspicious and she slowly shakes her head. Your grin widens.

"Yep! I've never heard any of these songs before, and I've never seen any anime, so I was hoping you could tell me what kinds of songs these are, and what they're supposed to be like. Like, are all of them supposed to be happy and upbeat, with the sad ones the rare ones? Are they supposed to be danced to?" Souka stares at Satsuki for a moment before sighing.

"Haa~ I just wanted to sing some rock, you know. No good concerts around, thought I could get a few at a karaoke, came here because the food's the best around. - Wait, you've never heard any of these songs before?" You nod.

"I don't even know that many Japanese songs, really, or anything in the genre. I just tried to sing along with how the words and music seemed to fit."

"Never heard any of this before … still sing 'em better than people who've been singing 'em for years. That's just crazy." Your head tilts fractionally to one side.

"What?" Souka shakes her head and looks at you, frowns and shakes her head again at your too-cheerful expression.

"… Amazing. Uh. …." She blinks rapidly and shakes her head yet again.

"Um, do you know a lot about anime songs, Souka-san?" Souka fixates on Satsuki and her mouth twists.

"Not really. I like rock, and if I can stand other kinds, I don't really like them. Not really sure about the advice, though. Yeah, a lot of anime uses pop music, but some use other kinds, and the style varies with the anime. Some have peppy openings and sad closings, others have songs that don't seem immediately relevant to the story." She shrugs, but when a tone sounds she looks at a clock on the wall. "Ah, hell. I should leave soon."

"Late for curfew?" She snorts and shakes her head at your question.

"Nah, getting back into the dorm's easy - easier than getting back to the academy, from here. No, they're gonna start a special round soon, and I don't want to participate." You look at Satsuki, but she shrugs. Souka continues before you can ask her, though. "The managers'll send specific songs to the better singers, and there'll be a one-round 'who sings the best' thing, not quite a competition. You can turn 'em down, of course, but that makes me feel weird, and I don't feel like actually singing whatever they pick. And they do pick, and they're usually pretty hard, at least compared to most of the stuff that gets played. So, like I said, I'm gonna head out soon. You're welcome to walk with me until we get to the station, if you want to keep talking, though." She starts sliding some floppy books into a bag.

What do you do?

[ ] Make her stay and keep talking.
