I can't even be mad, though.

Either we starve to death, or we freeze to death.

Or both.

We were fucked ever since that bear showed up and killed a bunch of hunters, and with the unlucky dice rolls for gathering food.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Even the ultimate last ditch option won't work?

This really is getting into do-or-die territory now.

@Azel, out of curiosity, what happens to the quest if the tribe is just wiped out? Do we pick someone else?
Freezing to death is a good deal less likely, thanks to you good huts. Which incidentally would have had no chance of completion with that weather roll, had you not already finished them.

And yes, your background rolls are spiteful to say the least.

Haven't put much thought into what to do if everyone ends up as a thin Popsicle, so I can't say anything about that for now.

Can we watch if someone eventually manages to kill the bear?

Better start thinking, were probably going to die soon so *shrug*

[X] [Action] Investigate the mountains if you can find other useful things.

Keep in mind that you can spend multiple actions on hunting. The laws of statistics can work in your favor sometimes.

As mentioned before, we should spend everything on hunting. Get the wintering rabbits, get the boars, get the bloody bear.

> -50 Malus to hunting and fishing

Oof.

We should try to go all in on Hunting and Fishing, although it seems as though our Hunters used up all of their luck finding this location for us. :V

I still don't think killing the bear will accomplish much, since it doesn't really have much more food than an elk or a couple of boars while also being far more dangerous to hunt.

It will likely greatly increase tribe cohesion, but that won't matter much if we all starve to death

Can't really even be mad, since I doubt @Azel expected us to get consistently shitty dice rolls to the point that we die before we get the chance to transition into the longer "civ style" turns. :p

Hiberating bears offer a shitload of high calorie fat. And would be asleep for the first strike
But it would be so cathartic. :(

Also, @Azel, is there a reason we can't figure out ice fishing?

We could...if not for the snowstorm giving the river a foot of ice surfacing.

Yeah, the rolls here have just been absolutely horrible for anything involving actually getting a reliable food surplus or the hunters... Everything else has been great... But if we want to not be starving? NOPE!

There are times where you can do everything right and still fail, if this is one of those times at least we can finally have a realistic civ quest, :V

You never did a focused fishing action after initially starting with spear fishing, thus didn't develop hook and line fishing. Spear fishing through a hole in the ice is pretty much a waste of time.

Beside that, you don't have good enough tools to cut open the ice in a reasonable time-frame anyway.

A good roll would have solved the first issue, but you would need the tool action to fix the second first.

Edit-

One way or another, the fate of the tribe is determined this turn.
Also Azel, damn you write hella fast, and if we fail, the quest was good while it lasted.

BUT, are we gonna fail? I say hell no. Or at the very least, we shall not go out without a struggle. LIKE HELL, are we gonna let the weather kill us!

Someone! Get the sacrificial goats ready for the dice gods! We are gonna spit in the face of the world, and show it we WILL succeed and overcome everything it can throw at us! The tribe shall eat well this turn, no matter the world's conditions!
