[X] Plan Absent-minded Professor

Luck is often handy and this seems to fit the background well. Hopefhelly we can train up empathy fairly soon so we can interact with friends easier.

-[x]Spain – You've grown up on a small Mediterranean island, which is mostly hidden from Muggles. The passing by ships see only a piece of land void of any life, instead of the beautiful little town that you call home. Growing up here was peaceful, but lonely. The largest part of the population consisted of old wizards and witches in the last chapter of their life, trying to live the rest of their days in peace and under the hot sun of Spain. Your parents are as old as the rest of them, being able to procreate and raise you as their child only thanks to a multitude of potions. Growing up surrounded by people a hundred years older than you, had given you quite a different perspective on the world. You were calmer and more observational than your peers.

-[x] 2Empathy - The ability to understand how someone feels because you can imagine what it is like to be them.
-[x] 2Luck - Success that you have by chance and not because of anything that you do.
-[x] Study of Ancient Runes - The Study of Ancient Runes is a general theoretical subject that studies ancient runic scripts. It is taught by Professor Bathsheda Babbling.
-[x] Arithmancy - Arithmancy is a branch of magic concerned with the magical properties of numbers. Arithmancy is reportedly difficult, as it requires memorizing or working with many charts. The subject is taught by Professor Septima Vector. It is separated into normal Arithmancy and Advanced Arithmancy Studies, the latter of which is taught as a NEWT-Course.
-[x] Magical Theory - A subject taught in Class 67 on the fourth floor of Hogwarts Castle. It covers magic from a purely theoretical view.

Seems like a more fun character to play. More of a regular kid, although a highly capable one, with an interesting dynamic with his family, and specifically his brother.

Personally, I'd have suggested a slight change to one of the classes. A transition to a sole Muggle Studies class could possibly lead to wide ranging potential. Art and music is an unfortunate area of subjects however; I'm more fascinated by the possible rewards in attempting a hybrid fusion of muggle tech and our magic. Like the Weasley's . . . but we actually know what we're doing.

I can't be the only person who wants to use Diffindo to split the atom, can I?

I believe it was stated that this is not a quest for min-maxing, but instead focused on Character interactions.

That wasn't to imply min-maxing. It was meant to be an interest in creative pursuits beyond the normal and expected area of magic. I believe it could lead to a great deal of entertaining shenanigans and interactions amongst others.

Playing as an abnormal Wizard doesn't necessarily imply that character interaction would be placed on the backburner.

My point is that if the quest is focused on Character Interaction, it would probably be best not to start at 1 Empathy.

In Canon Muggle Studies were nothing more than outdated classes as to how wizards think Muggles to act - with the purpose of blending in better as a wizard. No physics or there likes.

Empathy is the notion of not having as much care for the feelings of others. So we play as a more self serving character? I'm personally fine with that, given it's scarcity in the quests I read. That isn't to imply a villainous character, more just that being an ambitious character could lead to its own fun all on its own.

I stick by my choice to go without empathy. See where the wind takes us.

To lack empathy doesn't mean to lack charisma.

Correction that empathy does mean the ability to understand the feelings of others, as well as convey that of our own.

Unfortunately, yeah. That's why I mentioned that I'd have otherwise suggested it. All that's available in the classes is Art and Music.

I don't think you have the right definition of empathy. That's what most people think empathy is. Empathy is not to care about how other people feel and think, but how well you understand them.

And I'm pretty sure it's what charisma would play out here as, because there is no Charisma stat.

I corrected it a bit ago to be clear on the definition.
