Flowey is utterly adorable!

As for my action choices:

[X] Flower said she had something neat to show you... and that she wanted to have tea with you again. Maybe not in that order.
[X] You probably did not pay as much attention to your adopted sister as you should have done since including her. Time to play, Ana!
-[X] Don't forget to ask how the less destructive bubbles idea is working out.
[X] Training might be good
-[X] Another session of Soothing Moonlight training - at least one fourfold beam is a goal to meet.
-[X] More Dodge training with Soul, as well. Would also help Strength's request to keep an eye on her.

[X] EXP-Plan
-[X] Save it

Fair warning - I will probably be pushing for doing the mission in the evening slot (we had that option last update), whether we get higher dodge or not.

Not that it should concern you right now; that mission still hangs over your head... at least Strength did not say that anything bad happened just yet, but it is only a matter of time. Especially because she will go do it herself tomorrow if you have not made up your mind.
i feel like not doing the mission today may be ill advised.

Pretty much agreed.

World Eater is included because she is part of the connection. No way is she not coming.

Eye of Truth, if well played, gives us more or maybe even all of the enemy sheets before engaging.

I want to do this mission before the last possible chance in case it gets harder over time.

So far, after much thought, I'm leaning towards Eater + Truth, but if someone can make a good case for replacing Truth with Flower, Mirror, or Sky, I would be willing to change.

I would prefer Soul or Chi. Mostly because Chi can scout (who would suspect a spider) and Soul can dodge everything. And i would like a few levels in Baleful Eclipse, so that we can knockout the MG´s of the enemy really fast.
After that Chi would be more helpful because of capturing the enemy in general. Together with Judge we can lockdown everything which is possible within the fight and any enemy which could evade that can be knocked out (if possible with Baleful Eclipse).

I believe that would be more helpful than truth which can scout and then she couldnt help us anymore.

At least I would rather take Chi AND Soul with us and let Ana stay back at home. Ana doesnt had enough training and abilitys which would help in that mission. Naturally we will loose some EXP but I still believe that "winning" this mission as good as possible will have more worth than the EXP Ana would get. We shouldnt let greed clouding our judgement over who would be the logical option. This wont be necessarily our last mission, therefore we have other opportunitys to take Ana with us.

Soul is an Easy Mode option. She's too good. In theory, that reduces the overall rewards for success.

Chi's big advantages are stealth (sneak up on enemies or covertly deliver a message to the independents) and non-lethal takedowns.

Ana actually does have quite a bit to contribute now that she can use her weapon without killing things, especially since she can use Ray to scale up its damage.

What Dragou is trying to tell you is that you are starting to be greedy.

I will not say whether I agree with that, but you should think carefully about this. Taking the squishy murderblender and the girl that can contribute nothing against the triple-boss is a risk.

Well, while people are debating whether to do the mission now*, after dinner**, or tomorrow***, here's a helpful scale of Baleful Eclipse for people:
Baleful Eclipse LVL 06 - 2442 Damage (current)
Baleful Eclipse LVL 07 - 4029 Damage (60 EXP)
Baleful Eclipse LVL 08 - 6647 Damage (130 EXP)
Baleful Eclipse LVL 09 - 10967 Damage (210 EXP)
Baleful Eclipse LVL 10 - 18095 Damage (300 EXP)
Baleful Eclipse LVL 11 - 29856 Damage (400 EXP)
Baleful Eclipse LVL 12 - 49262 Damage (510 EXP)
Baleful Eclipse LVL 13 - 81282 Damage (630 EXP)
Baleful Eclipse LVL 14 - 134'115 Damage (760 EXP)
Reminder - this is a Synchronize Only spell, this is final damage after synchronized damage doubling is included in the calculation.

*(obviously, vote for it now if you want it to happen now)
**(obviously, vote for something else besides the mission)
***(IMHO, bad idea to wait THAT long)

"You know... I don't see why it would? I mean yeah, you're done for if your transformation runs out... but magic usually substitutes stamina and all the other stuff while you're transformed."

That is news to you; Truth gives you a look, having added the last part only after seeing your confusion. "Seriously? Nobody told you that? Soul, what the f-hell?"

Makes you wonder what else whe've missed about Magical Girls 101.

Strength just shakes her head over your surprised expression before squatting down with her back to you. "Come on, hop up. We're taking care of this right now."

Strength is so nice :)
It's not that surprising, considering she is the leader of an organisation advocating world peace, but still. Nice.

The leaves begin to melt, as does the fleshy body; it quickly loses half its size until it is only somewhat bigger than yourself. Glistening membranes start smoothing over, blocky shapes vanish to be replaced by more round forms... and the vines fuse together into thicker, fleshier tentacles. Curious eyes appear on what looks like its belly, taking in your surprised stares as another pair grows out of the head. Flower looks outright devastated at what sits in front of you now, her leaves quickly pulling back and folding up as best as they can.

I almost want to ask why there exists a picture of a slime/tentacle/flower monster girl... but internet.

"Look, I made Nicholas bigger!"

The voice is overshadowed by screeching and blubbering, followed by a terrified scream.
"Mama? What's wrong? Isn't he pretty? Look, he wants to play!"

You can only hear the scream stopping with a wet tearing noise. A dull thud... then just dripping.

"Oh... I guess I am a Magical Girl now... Mama fainted, too. Um... should I...?"

Did... did Flower get her mother killed by trying out her new powers ? Oh god.
Naron, you monster.

Mission planning time !

Agreed. Which is why I will be pushing for evening slot mission.
Going on a mission at the end of the day after we've tired ourselves out doesn't strike me as a good idea.

About the roster, I'm inclined towards Chi and Soul, for pretty much the same reasons as Dragou.

[X] Go on a mission

@Faraway-R, if you don't mind sharing, how did you calculate the damage for Baleful Eclipse ?

Obviously, by taking it's current damage and multiplying it by 1.65 with every level. It's the multiplier revealed to us in invisitext on Pris' character sheet.
Plus the caveat of rounding down to the nearest whole number after each multiplication.

Which is the reason why you can't just use
newDamage = oldDamage * (1.65^numLevelUps)

actually yeah, looking at the arguments I'll go with this:

[X] Go on a mission
-[X] Lost Cradle
--[X] Chitin Dancer
--[X] Soul Queller

Ana was really there more because she's attached to us now, and it felt wrong to leave her out, but it is true that she's really not suited to what we're trying to accomplish here

I'll leave the EXP discussion to other people this time

[X] Go on a mission

--[X] Soul Queller

Leveling Baleful Eclipse up to level 10-11 seems to be somewhat enough, what do you think? And we can comfort Ana for leave her out after we are back and then we can take her with us to the next mission. That gives her a bit time to train a bit more to be non-lethal.

Chi + Soul just feels like overkill to me. One or the other, sure. But both seems excessive.

And they lend themselves best to different methods of approaching this mission.

If we bring Chi, we'd want to abuse stealth. Do things like have some spiders covertly deliver a message made of silk to the independent MGs so that they know we are there to help and can initiate a fight against the government forces at the same time we do (remember that one of them is in the actual Allies section of the first page). Or have some spiders sneak up on the government forces and cast Prison of Silk on an MG or two as an alpha strike for starting the battle.

Soul on the other hand is good if we want to do things in a more simple manner. 12 attacks per turn with very high base stats (by non-exponential standards), Ray on a weapon, really high Flight speed, and freaking Effortless Dodge is incredibly powerful. She's the ally who can lolnope nearly anything they throw at her while also dealing solid damage that can easily be scaled based on the bulkiness of her target. The ally whom we can tell "go keep this enemy busy" and trust that she can handle it without any help or problems.

Edit:
There's literally no advantage to leveling Baleful Eclipse now vs leveling it after seeing enemy character sheets when the mission starts. Unlike some of our other stuff, we haven't done any training to control it better, and no downside to the characters being surprised that it's stronger than they expected.

There is one advantage to it - in the situation we get to make an opening shot before breaking for the voting battle plan, raising Baleful Eclipse a couple of levels makes us mostly capable of dropping someone important, as opposed to one of random mooks.

Then again, in Naron we trust, so there'll probably actually be a break for the voting battle plan prior to actually engaging them.

It would be strange for us to not have a vote for how to start the fight. Like if we want to implement a stealth plan.

Something like "have Truth use binoculars from a distance to analyze enemies" or "have Chi send a few spiders ahead of the group to cast Prison of Silk on one of the enemy MGs".

Not strange, but unusual. If the enemy seizes the initiative or gets the drop on us it may happen.
