Avatar: The Last Dicebender (A:TLA/A:LOK Quest)

Plus scrolls, plus special bonuses and events, plus anything you get from omakes.

Rome Ba Sing Se wasn't built in a day, you know?
That's still a huge chunk of our life to achieve a low level of mastery, despite us being a Prodigy and The Avatar. Under this system, I have no idea how ANYONE achieved Mastery. It'd take an additional 16.875 years to get from 7 to 10. Age 36 for mastery of 1 Element.
Edit: Also, it takes that long just for generic Earthbending. None of the of the sub-parts of Earthbending we will presumably want.

Scrolls presumably are not in infinite supply, nor can they be spammed. The number of TS you gave us earlier for learning from them would shave off a hundred points at most. And considering we are dealing with large time skips, it doesn't sound like there would be that many special bonuses and events.
In regards to the WL Loyalty issue. I'm wary of constant and consistent exposure to their ideologies and whatnot. If we get taught all of that formative knowledge by the WL, they're bound to always frame it in such a way that it's advantageous for them. More or less them always being the good guy and why We should stick with them in an IC way.

As opposed to going to school where we get to get friends our age for a more balanced upbringing, some lee way to mess around and focus on the shit we like, and let's us learn stuff that isn't completely WL-propaganda.
Despite Korra growing up in a White Lotus Compound, and being surrounded by nothing but the White Lotus, nothing like that really happened to her.

Huh.

Then that part of my issues are at least assauged. Still. School hijinks and finding bros/rivals for life for me. Not really too enthused living with old men and stingy grandpas

I have to agree with you, this new system seems a huge step down from the old one... especially seeing how Roku managed to mastering all elements in 12 years...

We should take advantage of the unique opportunities in each area we travel to. Learn and bond with a great firebending teacher, go to a fire nation school to expand our horizons, try to fix our issues with our bird, and try to work on not failing the next Earth Chakra roll.

He presumably had Fire already down, and he had teachers, but still. It's gonna take a lot of very lucky Teacher Rolls for us to copy that. It'd require averaging 16.56 Training Sessions per Season atleast.

Hm, in that case, I'll do some reworking of the system.

The Roku argument got me convinced. Alright, how about Bending Prodigy triples your TP gain? 12+4d? Also, I can lower the Level requirements by one.

[x] Take Roku for a spin around town. You wonder if any soldiers will show up to stop you. Wonder if you can race 'em?

That would help, speed up training time by roughly 1.5 times. I think quadruple would be better though, half the speed we had when we were doing 4 turns a season.
I remember you saying you want the earliest of our bending to hit mastery at 40.
I believe he said that for mastering all the elements, not for just one.

Hm, alright. In that case, the double bonus from the teachers will remain as long as the teacher is at least one Level higher than you.

Alright, so to map our potential progress in Fire-bending, assuming average rolls.
1 Action (Default): Rank 3, 14/28
2 Actions : Rank 4, 25/35
3 Actions : Rank 5, 25/42
4 Actions : Rank 6, 21/49

Could I convince you to replace this part of the plan with Riding Roku through the town? That will very likely get us a reputation, completing that Ambition, and could very easily snowball into the ambition See The Royal Palace and/or Meet the Fire Lords Daughter. Far more productive than embarrasingly bad romance attempts.

Plus, important note. Girls are yucky.

Another thing that should be altered is the how the advanced bending disciplines work, because in this quest all those skills are simply a secondary bending skill tree to start leveling up once we unlock them by advancing in the main skill tree, but in the series it is actually the other way around.

To unlock any of those advanced abilities is very difficult, but once they are unlocked things change. All the benders that unlock these advanced abilities are capable of using them with a similar level of skill to their main bending ability in just a few days/weeks, an example of this is Bolin lava bending and Korra metal bending.

I don´t really know how this can be balanced, the best idea I have is to reduce drastically the TP needed to upgrade the advanced bending, in the levels that are below the maximum level in the main bending skill, and also to increase the TP of the advanced bending that is above the main be bending level...

Thing is, we only need to get to Rank 4 in the sub-bendings to not suffer any penalities, allowing us to use it as good as we can natural bending. Ranks above that makes us even better at that sub-bending than we are at normal earth-bending.

That said, people in canon DID seem to reach Rank 4 extremely fast, despite a similar feat taking us a full year with a teacher.

I feel like there are other ways to get a reputation with less opportunity cost. And I didn't choose to hang out with her for romance. We're 8 :lol

btw I'm just replying because I'm the one who first made the plan. If I edit my vote does that even affect other votes which are under the same plan?

I feel like not choosing it has a big opportunity cost.

The option sounds like a classical romantic set up, getting a pretty lady to come over to help with homework despite not having homework. And Tie rather does seem like he considers her attractive, and is trying to deny it to himself, one of his stated reasons for not falling in love at first sight being "girls are yucky"

One more failure in opening the Earth Chakra will result in failing the Ambition and severe repercussions.
This seems a bit unfair. Failing this is mostly beyond our control because we've just been rolling poorly, not because of bad decision we've made.

We haven't even been given the option to stop trying to open it while we work on improving our spiritual rolls, so it's not like we've been pushing it unnecessarily.

And it's a short-term ambition, so why should it have severe repercussions for anything but a crit failure?
