Star Wars: The Chosen One (An Anakin Skywalker Quest)

[Reward] Help Jedi to find the Sith and bring him to justice

Missing the [X].

[X] [Sith] Suspicious: The womanappeared harmless. Perhaps that was the danger?

Missing a space.

One of the reasons he went dark in the first place was because he was groomed that way. Ever since he was a child Palpatine was able to groom him and to watch him. Growing up alone and coming of age away from him might prove to be a great advantage in the long term if you want to keep him light.

Then just don't interact with Palpatine. It is that simple. And there is no need to run off with Dooku to do that.

Bail:
[X][Reward] To Do all he can to free the slaves in the Outer Rim?
[X][Meetings] Accepted. This would be a great opportunity to hangout with someone who wasn't a Jedi and expand your horizons. The fact that Bail was the CHancellor just made it better!

Yoda:
[X][Failure] Seriously: Yoda was the teacher, and apparently you'd been doing it the wrong way. You needed to figure out the right way

Dooku:
[X][Dooku] Please stay with the Order?
[X][Dooku] Ask Dooku to keep in contact. Tell him that your dream is to be a Jedi Knight, but as soon as you are, you want to come help him hunt down the Sith.

Sith:

[X][Sith] Suspicious: The woman appeared harmless. Perhaps that was the danger?

Dreams:

[X][Dreams] Frowned in worry and left. You would meditate to determine if this is a message from the Force or merely a bad dream.

You really need to thread mark this, people keep ignoring this from what I read when you keep posting it.

Exactly. There's no rush to break away from the Order just for the sake of running from canon. This story takes place over the course of decades (there are around 30 fucking years until A New Hope's timeframe, assuming that the quest will go that far down the timeline). We have time. Canon cannot possibly survive intact, especially not when so many things are RNG dependent.
Hey, I noticed that you're voting for "may the Force be with you". Can I convince you to vote for "please stay"? I don't know if you care about Dooku staying or not, but this way we'd atleast not split the vote.

You need to put spaces after the [X]'s or the tally will count them separately.

Yoda
[X] [Failure] Confused: That's the complete opposite from what Master Zan taught you. You've used your emotions all the time for years in your training and it didn't make you torture small animals or something. And now Master Yoda tells you Master Zan's teachings are wrong? You don't get it.

Sith does not necessarily mean an evil lulz villain.
Jedi does not necessarily mean being a paragon of light.

The first does not necessarily imply the Second.

AND in Legends I simply cannot think of a Sith who we k ow of that was good. Like... Revan and Kreia were ex Sith And that one Banker dude we only know about from another Sith who was using him to try to convince Jacen to go full Palpatine in the Galaxy.

And even including them, contrast that with literally the entire Jedi order who are consistently heroes doing heroic things. The Sith ARE capital E-evil, andsaying otherwise is to miss the entire point, like trying to pass off the Others as simply misunderstood.

The tv nightsisters are a better example of a non lol!Evil dark side sect IMHO. And even there they have slavery/feudalism, soooo.....

Hey guys how are things goi-
*sees people voting to leave with Dooku, spending points to lose access to Mace, Plo Koon, Yoda and the massive resources of the Temple, whilst at the same time going to inform the Chancellor about the Jedi, despite the fact we'd be leaving the Jedi, whilst also ignoring the fact that Anakins dream is to be a Jedi knight, and he's been at the Temple less than a year also the fact that, as a child, stopping Dooku going dark is unlikely without major Charisma boosts*
-ng. Okay. Cool. To each their own I guess.

Why do people not want to go with a Jedi master who can teach us all the same things force wise that the Jedi can. Aside from shatterpoint dooku has a wide base of force powers and lightsaber skills at his disposal. If we go with him we can complete several amitions in one fell swoop if we chocolate carefully.

The killing maul ambition, the becoming a leader ambition if we pick it, and if we are lucky becoming a Jedi Knight. Even though we would not have the support of the main temple we have a master to train us and give us the title even if we are not with the sect.

Also one of the advantages of the separatist option is enlisting the followers of Palawa. We might even finish up Teras Kasi and be reintroduced to master Zan. Not to mention see our family again when Mail is dead.

This is GM word of god. Don't just throw stuff out from the books and TV show and expect us to agree with you. Those examples reasonable from the perspective that this is copying the feeling of star wars down to a T. Also wouldn't Doku be a former Jedi to? what's preventing us from being the exception?

Here's the thing dude. There are Lightsabre and force skills Dooku doesn't have, multiple skills at that. Those are at the Temple. We might be able to eventually continue our Teras Kai training, something we'll definitely be able to do right now at the Temple.

Yes we have the vengeance ambition. But we've had the become a Jedi ambition longer and still have the make friends in our clan ambition. Going with Dooku locks several ambitions possibly to the point of permenancy, staying at the Temple doesn't lock out any and gives us better resources.

It doesn't make sense from a logic or character perspective

TBH im not entirely opposed to leaving with Dooku, or trying to and being rejexged. Both offer interesting story choices, and the currently winning "please stay with the order" is OOC and worse.

I'm just really set on Mace Windu as our master because I want Paladin!Stannis!Anakin, not some edgelord Sith wannabe. We can totally kill Dooku and take over the Separatists later if we have to (or, hell, turn him to our side maybe) or try to reform the Jedi from owtihin or- failing that- use the clone wars or whatever to schism the Order (lots left over the war, the clone army etc.)

In terms of . . . good might be stretching it a bit, but reasonable Sith, there's Lana Beniko. As for evil Jedi, there's Jun Seros. Then again, both of them are from TOR, so expect some people will discount them because of that, and either way, they're the exception, not the rule.

To me, their are more long-term tangible be if it's going to Doku than just lightsaber skills. Didn't we have the master Teras Kasi ambition longer than the Jedi one? We can always remove the initiate ambition. It makes sense from a character perspective because we are an angry 10-year-old who is frustrated that the council is doing apparently nothing. Here we see a Jedi master leaving the order to go preside the killer of his student. It makes sense from a character perspective that we respond with wanting to go. Even if we can't do much yet.

I don't think that killing dooku would be the right way to go about that. Also reforming the Jedi from within seems alot more difficult than just founding our own sect after the clone wars end, if they even start at all.

I think, that in the End, the GM is just trying to tell us that both the Jedi and Sith are completely valid paths and that we can become a Sith without going Full Lolz!Evil.

We may be more ruthless, Selfish, passionate Sure, but we won't just kill people for no reason at all or for sadistic reason unless that's what we want.

All of this. TOR is a flaming hit mess and one exception does not prove a point. Take the average Jedi, and the average Sith.

Who do you trust not to betray you? Not to kill your kids? Not to rob you blind? Not to torture you for funsies?

Yes we did have the Master Teras Kasi ambition. Well done. I guess it's a good thing there's Plo Koon, who is a master of Teras Kasi, standing right there in the temple and willing to help us as he already did in this update?

Ask yourself, if we want to learn that skill, should we stick with the easily accessible, friendly master, or walk about for years and hope we find the Followers and Dooku let's us stay with them?

From a character perspective it doesn't make sense as you are claiming. We don't know Dooku, we've known him ten seconds. Also we've had the ambition to become and Jedi Knight and master Teras Kasi for years, instead of the months we've had the avenge ambition. Long term desires and lack of even a single conversation trumps anger, anger we are dealing with decently, we don't blame ourselves for it, and we've also made friends here at the Temple. A ten year old kid is not going to give up on his lifelong dreams for a spur of the moment thing with a stranger.

How is it OOC for Anakin to stay in the Order and become a Jedi like he always dreamed? And how is it IC for him to drop this dream for someone he just met who may or may not help him get rid of the revengeboner that he just got 5 minutes ago? Because he had a bad encounter with Yoda this turn? Please.

Ruthless+selfish+willing to kill for personal gain (how is a cold sociopath better) = still freaking evil. Like just because we don't go fill Nazi doesn't mean we aren't a tinpot dictator, see?

This is exactly what I meant when I said I won't vote for any plan that turns us into an edgelord. Hard men making hard decisions isn't something worthy of emulation, people like Palpatine and Dooku and Vader thought more or less exactly the same way as the person you describe here.

EDIT: Going to change my vote.

[x] [Reward] Help Jedi to find the Sith and bring him to justice

Lawful+more realistic than the slavery thing. Also having tje cjancellor pokimg at tjhe Sith seems like a good idea a it could force Palpatine to act under pressure.

[x] [Meetings] Accepted. This would be a great opportunity to hangout with someone who wasn't a Jedi and expand your horizons. The fact that Bail was the Chancellor just made it better!

[x] [Failure] Seriously: Yoda was the teacher, and apparently you'd been doing it the wrong way. You needed to figure out the right way

Our Anakin respects teachers. It's an established part of his character

[x] Fun, Simple, Silly

[x] [Sith] Suspicious: The woman appeared harmless. Perhaps that was the danger?

[x] [Dreams] Frowned, but nodded. You would have to take her advice.
