At this point in time I think keeping Shepard doing exactly what she's doing is an ongoing interest of Cerberus. If it is a trap I'd say it's likely to be either unlucky pirates or from someone uneasy about humanity suddenly making strides in science and tech.

Yep. Matriarch, STG, Shadow Broker, Corporate Competitor, Hegemony-backed pirates, non-Hegemony-backed pirates...lots of possibilities.
We're going to be gone at least three days anyway.

Given that it's Revy's birthday and everything I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up spending at a week on earth, to fit in some vacation time, and a day or two travel both ways.
So basically odds are we'd be away for 10 days so a couple hours wasted on this isn't significant.
Oh and I'd love to see an attempted raid on our labs

Is it wrong to want this be absolutely a trap? Also, how much interest does the alliance have in Revy? Is she just a new competitor amongst their suppliers or is she more important?

At the moment it's likely "This girl is awesome! She made workable power armour for us!" but once stuff that's been in the pipelines comes through it'll likely be somewhere along the lines of "Literally a walking strategic asset on par with Prothean databases."

I've been doing some calcs for Frigate design stuff*, mostly to get an idea of where we stand right now and what techs would be most effective, and one of our Frigates just using our current tech will be be delivering 5.75x more power to both the engines and the mass effect core.
Combined with the various mass savings it could quite possibly be 6x to 7x faster conventionally and anywhere from 10x to 40x at FTL.
If we assume the Alliance's rapid response units have an average 6 hour response time this could cut that down to anywhere between 1 hour, which for quick raids is too late but should be fast enough for anything else, and 9 minutes.
*Probably end up posting it along with the revised tech tree.

I'm fairly sure Mordin would be displeased at the idea of atomizing such promising young mind. I'm not sure why Mordin would try to infiltrate in such a roundabout manner when he could show up with a C.V. given how fast Shepard is hoovering up scientists.

@Esbilon Do we have a suit for Brian in our JiC loadout? Also The ship is much fancier than expected is it more of a VIP passenger liner than a true freighter? If so is it at least lightly armed to deter lighter pirates for the protection of it's passengers?

I think you answered this before but I can't remember; Can we swap out magnetic accelerators (in ship's guns) for repulsor accelerators?
Repulsor beams won't work in space thanks to the limited range but using a repulsor to push a projectile might. Even if it has the exact same firing characteristics as an electronic accelerator it would still be preferable due to the higher efficiency and reduced waste heat.

Oh, while Tigers aren't really going to do anything, those are still vacuum rated so dropping Brian and crew in there if things go heavily sour is nice idea and technically, thanks to repulsors, it is space fly capable (at least if we let Cortana do all the movement calculations that is)
